About

A Japanese year is more than four seasons. It turns through 24 solar terms — and within the "72 micro-seasons" (shichijuni-ko), the season shifts every five days. "Self-heal withers," "Cherry blossoms begin to open" — the delicate faces of the seasons that people of old once watched. Koyomi no Wa quietly tells you which one is unfolding today. What season is today? Today's micro-season, with clear, gentle notes anyone can read A related ukiyo-e (public-domain masterpiece) and a classic haiku Rokuyo, the lunar date, the sexagenary day, holidays, seasonal markers (Setsubun, Day of the Ox), and lucky days The moon's phase, and the foods and flowers in season now Beautiful, and quiet. "The Wheel" — see the whole year as a circle of 24 terms A washi-paper background that shifts with the seasons, and a tear-off-calendar opening The dignified type of Shippori Mincho Save and share today as a lovely card Gentle by design Fully offline. No networking at all No ads, no in-app purchases A soft daily notification (choose: today's season / start of a term / seasonal markers / lucky days) Home-screen widget Japanese and English Calendar math is performed on-device, in accordance with the guidelines of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. Your guide is Sakuya, who carries the spirit of the seasons. A quiet moment to lean close to the turning of the year.
