They simplified the information so much that it is boarder line useless. I used to be able to click on waypoints to see estimated location wind speed eye wall etc. Now it is just a cone of broad area. When I go to noaa it burries data in alot of words. This app pulled the details to make it easy to read . But I feel the quality has turned into near uselessness in the last couple of years. The main problem: live channels and other websites will have updated positions and forecasts, but this app doesn’t update for 4 or more hours, which is critical to decision making! Additionally, some pages sometimes just have no data at all. Currently: sea temps: blank. Tropics watch: blank. Satellite view: stuck in the middle of the Atlantic and no way to navigate over the gulf. It has been less than desirable to use. The pin in your location is massive compared to the dot you used to have. The radar is complete garbage compared to the older version if you go to settings and overlays and try to change anything none of that works and stays. You cannot save your location like it claims you can, the entire app is buggy. I’m going to try to find a better app for hurricanes and for tracking storms. This app I’ve used for more than 10 years and it was fantastic! The radar is the worst about the whole thing. It’s out of focus especially when you try to enlarge it to look at your specific area. Still have it on my phone but have another app for weather that I use instead. So many apps are now charging for basic life saving information and this one thus far has stayed free while saving lives. They keep improving on it and that’s what matters. during hurricane season we need to know is it coming my way how bad will it be and when will it hit. Watching to see what’s out there and watching the progress is interesting but the ones that start up in the gulf and hit fast are crazy.
