When there is a big storm coming, the radar for whatever reason does not show it. I have to go to a different app in order to see where the storm is in relation to me. I don’t understand what the different colors are for nor do I care. I think for the major news and weather network in the community so much could be improved for Lawton. Point blank it just sounds like a bunch of rambling nonsense with a tid bit of somewhat important information. Where are the reporters where is the news on Lawton community events cross me traffic business. Military news. Business events. Community leader interviews. Fire and police interviews, community health interviews updates and status. Where is the reporting on community outreach and special events. Traffic reports, school events. I really think KSWO COULD DO A LOT MORE… and do it much better than they currently do. THAT SMALL TOWN NEWS AGENCY THING JUST ISNT WORKING ANY MORE!! Lawton has GROWN… so should it’s news agency!! ### 2/5 — First Alert … JOKE, don’t chance it! *2024-05-22, version 5.13.1000* BLUF: so have this app for “First Alert” with all the tornados and adverse weather in 2024. But… You get a alert on notifications, and click on it for the alert, but wait… You have to watch 45 second to a minute of local ads before you can access the app?! Caddo is not Kato. I’m older and it shows the knowledge of the big boss, not the new people. KOCO can and does pronounce counties correctly. Have to keep pushing play then Watch or listen to the commercial and then after commercial press play again to watch or listen to the news segment. Then press play again for the next segment only to watch commercial press play again for the segment. First news app I’ve ever seen that require so many clicks and play so many commercials. All the other news apps you just press play once and go. Totally unsafe if your trying to get news 7 while driving or even walking. There are multiple warnings, and I CANNOT WATCH ANY VIDEOS ON THE APP!!! IT PLAYS ADS BACK TO BACK TO BACK!!!! This is unacceptable. How am I supposed to know what is going on? Much less who or how to contact someone to get this issue corrected. The fact that I had to investigate how to contact someone at KSWO due to the app HAVING ZERO ‘HELP’ OR ‘CONTACT US’ links! It needs to be fixed in a timely manner. Most people only have the app, so this kind of glitch is dangerous considering the type of weather conditions that are occurring. The app design is incredibly incompetent when one takes into consideration that there’s no way to contact anyone for assistance when something like this happens. This is serious. The fact that I have to jump through hoops for help is beyond unacceptable. Only thing worse we’re the two stations in Witchita Falls. ### 1/5 — Tornado Coming Don’t rely on this app for a quick update *2025-01-10, version 5.17.509* Multiple times last year my home was in the path of tornados and when the power was out and we were locked down in the cellar with just our phones KSWO was not quick responsive or reliable during an event like this or an emergency what’s more important to kswo keeping its people of southwest Oklahoma safe and aware of life threatening situations and conditions or it’s advertisers , to be in line of a tornado multiple times and sitting for 2 - 4 minutes due to advertisements before getting to the live feed wow that’s a lot of time that maybe I didn’t know there was a tornado maybe my power went out before the alert even dropped what benefit did I get out of this app and how quickly could a person loose their life, Everyone knows when a tornado is present every second is crucial to get to safety but don’t rely on kswo for live streaming in the event of a life threatening situation, Just loaded with advertisements that’s what’s most important here not your life or your home- when I say loaded get ready for everything to be advertisements every video every weather update every severe event everything ### 1/5 — Completely Inaccurate *2024-05-09, version 5.13.1000* They’re wrong more than they’re right. The only thing this app gets correct is the temperature. Their radar is consistently not showing incoming storms and and the storms it does show come way later than what the app says it will be.
