### 5/5 — Amazing for cashflow

*2021-11-17*

Most budgeting software is retrospective - what I love about Kualto is that is helps you manage your cashflow into the future. Amazing app!

### 5/5 — Changed my budgeting life

*2021-08-27*

I’ve been using Kualto for a couple of years now and I just love it! Traditional budgets never worked for my brain. This actually works for me. When I first got it I spent months in obsessively playing with my numbers and figuring out how to pay down debt and save. Well my debt got paid off, my savings is in the best shape of my life and I just redid my budget again with the freedom to dream of home improvement projects and eventual retirement. I can see the big picture! That was never possible with the other ones. At least not for the way my brain works. It’s all manual so you do have to invest time and experimentation. Well worth it though.

### 5/5 — Finally!

*2020-04-08*

We have been looking so long for an app to forecast cashflow similar to the sunsetted Microsoft Money and have finally found this. It runs flawlessly and we are so happy! Love that it is online-based and runs seamlessly across all our ios devices. Now we can enter account info and balance our accounts on the go as well as check our cashflow anywhere!

### 5/5 — Perfection

*2019-12-28*

I have tried many different apps to keep up with our accounts. I quit looking a few years ago when I found this one! This app is simple and easy to use. I love the fact that it will forecast my balances so I can quickly see if my income will cover my projected expenses! And it is a great benefit to have it across my devices always synchronized. It is seamless and does the job nicely.

### 5/5 — Love the App

*2019-05-01*

Love this App, love the forecasting ability. Simple and easy to use.

### 5/5 — This app is the bomb!

*2019-04-24*

I have not been able to find anything else that makes cash flow management so simple and straightforward. I like that I have to manually enter the transactions as I’m aware of every transaction. I haven’t overdrawn an account in a year since using Kualto!

### 5/5 — Very useful app !!

*2019-01-30*

I am very happy using this app
I can review my expenses and saves

### 5/5 — Does what it says.

*2018-12-15*

I purchased this on the pc and it’s great so far. Straight forward in adding new categories and then adding in what you do. It’s more like a tracker and not a budget app. Keep that in mind. Not been using long enough though to see how well it plans out my future expenses though. Maybe two months since the writing of this.

I like it better than your typical budgeting software though.

### 4/5 — Digging it

*2018-10-20*

I’m digging this app. I’m looking forward to utilizing it to finally build a savings with the money I’m blowing on late fees and the like. If I could alter the weekday starts (example: start my week on Wednesday’s) and views (14 days instead of 7) so that I could view spending for my pay periods, I could finally stop looking for the right budgeting app, because this would be IT!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! We now support changing the first day of the week as of version 1.20.

### 5/5 — Better than YNAB!

*2017-05-07*

Great app that shows you your cash flow forecast: syncs with the web app as well. Love how I can see with one glance when things are due and how much money we have at any given point in time. Kudos for the email reminders for upcoming bills and transactions.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Confusing interface

*2022-12-05*

I pay for this service. It has a confusing interface. There is no way to easily delete old transactions. You have to do them all one by one manually. Also, the balance calculations are wrong. This app is frustrating and useless.

**Developer response:** There is a difference between the "balance" and "cleared balance", as the latter includes only transactions that have been set to "cleared." This helps when reconciling your balance with your real bank account.

We are working on providing more tutorials, but most users comment on how simple and easy to use the app interface is. We do appreciate the feedback, though.

### 1/5 — Not “in-app purchases”

*2018-11-26*

App says it has in-app purchases leading me to believe certain reports and such could be purchased and I may be happy with the free version. The app in its entirety is at a minimum $4.99 a month. What a joke.

**Developer response:** Our signup screen very clearly states that you are signing up for a free 30-day trial.

The "In-App Purchase" phrase is not controlled by us, but by Apple. It means the app has something that can be purchased, which in our case, is the subscription to continue using the Kualto service after the 30-day trial.

You are also not just purchasing a subscription to the app. Kualto is a web application. The app gives you access to your account so you can see your data anywhere. The "In-App Purchase" is a convenient way for you to subscribe to our service without having to leave the app.

### 1/5 — Can't enter cents?

*2017-04-24, version 1.1*

I don't understand how a program focused on balancing won't let you add cents? Seems really stupid! I can type in $27 but not $27.45?

### 4/5 — IPAD mode please!!

*2025-09-17*

Loving this app however it would great if there was a iPad version. Would love to see the forecasting in a landscape mode that has a full month view. That would be awesome!!

### 4/5 — Very good future budget planner

*2024-06-15*

I really like this app. I used to use another app but it didn’t really sync between devices and I could only add one account. I like that I can budget for any account like credit cards too or savings. I also like the categories and how you can have subcategories like a food category and also a groceries and restaurant subcategory individually. Helps keep everything really organized. It would be nice if I could do a recurring purchase for like every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc instead of having to make recurring weekly purchases individually but that’s not too big of a deal. The only real negative is it’s sometimes slow when I first load up the app and when I go in to confirm recurring purchases have hit my account. It does it on my iPad mini and my iPhone 13 so I don’t think it’s my devices. It would be nice if it was a little more seamless but it doesn’t bother me that much. Hopefully they fix that but really good app if you can get past that! And worth the $5 a month to me. 🙂

I like that I can budget for any account like credit cards too or savings. I also like the categories and how you can have subcategories like a food category and also a groceries and restaurant subcategory individually. Helps keep everything really organized. Only negatives I’ve ran into is I wish I could see balance reports further than 6 months. It would also be nice if I could do a recurring purchase for like every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc instead of having to make recurring weekly purchases individually but that’s not too big of a deal. The biggest negative is the app is pretty slow and laggy when I first load up the app and when I go in to confirm recurring purchases have hit my account. It does it on my iPad mini and my iPhone 13 so I don’t think it’s my devices. It would be nice if it was a little more seamless but I’m pretty patient so it doesn’t bother me that much. Hopefully they fix that but really good app if you can get past that! And worth the $5 a month to me. 🙂

### 4/5 — Why can’t you increase timeline and add inflation

*2023-09-08*

I really liked the app, and it allows me to track/enter all the information I need. However, it gets unrealistic when I’m trying to project a cost 5 years from now without being able to say the price of this service inflates at X%. Additionally why is there a limit on 360 months?

### 4/5 — Why is everything in life a subscription now?

*2021-09-16*

I love this app, read all the reviews, it does everything you’ve been looking for to forecast budgeting and balances and making sure you’re not late…. But why can’t it just have the option to be a stand alone app with a one time purchase? I don’t want or need to sync and access across the web onto computers. No log in or password. It’s a simple spend down budget with graphs, just the app on my phone is perfect. But a subscription for $50 a year? Forever? Wish there was a tier to simply buy the app outright, period. Don’t need another subscription in my life. *Also- seeing as how I’m going to have to pay it anyway, I do need this - my suggestion is to be able to see more than one week at a time. The option to see the whole month or many months in one scrolling page as opposed to arrowing through the weeks up too would be great.

### 4/5 — Great forecast app

*2019-08-10, version 1.19*

Have been looking for ages for something like this that will forecast. Works great. I wish it just scrolled down as opposed to making you go week by week but other than that is very good. Love that I can edit a series of transactions only for the ones in the future. Categories could use some work but does exactly what I need it to.

### 4/5 — How to see the future.

*2018-12-23*

Some apps concentrate on analysing your past spending. Why? I can’t change my past cash flow. I want to know the consequences before I spend my money. This is what it does. It projects future cash flow based on recurring transactions and one offs that you enter. I may be able to afford something today but how will that affect a particular bill I have to pay next week. I now have a much better idea if I can afford something. It needs little tweaks to perfect the UI and then it will get 5 stars

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best app for forecasting balancing.

*2026-03-05*

I’ve used this app to keep track of my budget and my account for several years and find it really invaluable in predicting future balances and have also found it helpful in modeling the financial impact over time of possible single and recurring expenses or income streams.
Highly recommended this app

### 5/5 — Easy and effective

*2025-12-04*

I have used Kualto for years now. It is easy to use and keeps me from accidental overdraft. I have many cards (this one for this, that one for that) and Kualto helps me remember which items I need to pay manually and automatically schedules the ones that recur. I’d love more consistent updates and added features, but I’m super happy with it.

### 5/5 — Pays for Itself

*2025-11-26*

Pros:

Pays for itself because it prevents overdraft fees, saves time, and highlights expenses I don't need.

The learning curve is short and the app is easy to use. Once you put in the effort of entering your income and expenses, the ongoing work is basically zero.

Keeps me disciplined, helps me avoid living beyond my means, and makes it easier to save for emergencies instead of spending on luxuries. It even motivates me to work overtime because it clearly shows when my balance will go negative if income and spending stay the same.

Cons:

The balance adjustment feature doesn't let me adjust the balance for today specifically. For example, if today is November 25 and my real checking balance is $200, the app adjusts the entire Nov 23-29 range instead of only today. A single-day balance adjustment option would make forecasting even more accurate.

### 5/5 — Best Budgeting App

*2024-11-14*

This is a great budgeting app. It shows how much I will have in the future thanks to repeating transactions. I haven’t had a late payment or overdrawn my account since using this app

### 5/5 — Very good future budget planner

*2024-07-15*

Idk if it was on their end or maybe my internet at the time but changing my review from 4 to 5. Definitely worth the $5 a month. Thank you all for creating my dream budgeting app!!! I’ve been looking for something like this for years! 😍❤️

### 5/5 — Easiest way to manage your cash flow

*2024-04-27*

It took me years to to build my own cash flow forecast spreadsheet. Once I found Kualto I no longer need it. Simple to use with great reporting. Having an app on my phone lets me make updates wherever I am. If you don’t forecast your cash flow, you are driving your financial life with your eyes closed. Use this. It will reduce your cash anxiety.

### 5/5 — Great app but hope to see some updates

*2024-04-07*

I love the the cash flow forecast but would like to be able to see more than one week at a time. Also would like to see more flexibility in choosing repeat frequency dates.

### 5/5 — Best Daily Expense App

*2023-06-18*

If you want to keep your daily expenses on track, this is app for you.

### 5/5 — A major part of my financial health

*2022-07-28*

I started using kualto in 2018 and at this point I’d be lost without it! It helped me keep my eyes on the prize to buy my house in 2021, and is now helping me save to do improvements. I am not an abstract thinker when it comes to money, and the forecaster helps me see the long term implications of spending today. I need that positive or negative reinforcement every day to help me make good financial choices-and sometimes the good choice is splurge! Kualto has really made me feel in control of my choices and their consequences when it comes to money. And at $60/yr I have to just keep my mouth shut when my friends talk about the cost of YNAB or in-person budgeting services. The Kualto psychology works for me.
