The whole system has been well thought out from the app, to the product and packaging. Simple guides for every step of the process. Fitted 2 sensors and hub in less than 15 mins, instantly the app shows if the door is locked or not. No more heading to bed and being asked ‘did you lock the door’ I can set a scheduled notification instead and check the app directly. The wall plug is ideal for what I wanted too. I can walk past the plug socket at the bottom of the stairs on my way up each night and the light tells me if the door is unlocked or locked a quick glance at the light status! Rushing out of the house to get to work? getting the kids strapped into their car seats to go food shopping? We can all get flustered? all of a sudden you question yourself, think did I lock the door? Having the Kubu app on my phone to be able to check the door is locked enables me to continue with my day without worrying. I highly recommend it. Customer service is wonderful. The Installers are curteous, respectful and very knowledgeable. What a unique offering, my installer explained to me the advantages of the product and it was a no brainer for me to activate my doors!!! Performance and reliability has degraded slowly over time. Now the sensors don’t record door history properly, don’t detect doors being locked and unlocked and mix up which door is which. Support quality has also got worse. My last query about door history disappearing was ignored. Fortunately, this app does not control the actual physical locking of the door so I can safely stop using them without affecting security. A great idea, but I suspect the company failed to monetise properly and is abandoning the devices. ### 2/5 — It’s Ok *2024-03-14, version 7.0.9* Used to be better, with Alexa support, but hasn’t worked with Alexa for years, even though it’s still listed as a skill. Support is ok initially, but them seems to lose interest and drops any contact. Like most apps, the ‘refresh’ is buggy and crashy. ### 3/5 — App need updates and further development *2021-02-27, version 5.2.3* I have been using Kubu app for 1 year now and it’s working kind of as expected, but several times an year, I experienced faults with the app , not showing when the doors are unlocked or locked or that they are offline as well as big delays to show the correct information on the phone after locking or unlocking.The company sent me replacement door modules and hub but I think is the be app itself that causes the issues and need a good firmware and software update and development in order to keep up with the fast moving digital world as people don’t have time to write reviews and chase the manufacturers these days as they pay and expect perfect working product for their custom. ### 5/5 — Great after care *2025-03-19, version 7.5.6* I recently had to replace the batteries in one of my door sensors. I managed to disconnect my sensor from the home hub and couldn’t reconnect as I had lost the QR code. Contacted customer service who weee extremely helpful and I’m now back up and running. This is a great and reliable product and does exactly what it says in the tin. ### 5/5 — Excellent system and customer service *2025-03-15, version 7.5.6* I ordered windows and a front door through Droylsden Glass, and Kubu came with them. I have heard of Kubu before, as our conservatory door was Kubu ready but I did not have it installed on this door. When all the Kubu equipment arrived it also included a module for the rear door as well. The kit is self install, and it is very easy to setup with videos included in the guide on the app. This system gives us further peace of mind that all is well at home, and we can now check if everything is secure from anywhere. We did have an issue with a few of the window sensors that kept giving a ‘Tamper’ alert, but a quick email to Kubu, and new sensor where promptly dispatched to us, and it was a quick 5 minute job to remove the old sensors from the app, and add the new ones. The customer service that we have received from Kubu has been nothing short of excellence, and I highly recommend this system as an additional piece of mind to any existing security on your property. ### 5/5 — Kubu smart security *2025-01-09, version 7.5.2* Got 3 exterior doors and 5 windows fitted with Kubu sensors. Don’t have to worry whether I’ve closed and locked them behind me as the app will tell me. The app will also alert me should I leave the house unlocked. Support is great too - big thanks to Tom. Any problems and he’ll have the answer. ### 5/5 — Just what I’ve always wanted *2023-02-23, version 6.0.2* I’m a little over the top when it comes to locking up. It usually takes me 2 minutes and multiple checks before I’m happy I’ve locked the door and can leave the house. This device has allowed me to have certainty I’ve locked the door and it’s meant no matter how much I doubt myself over if I’ve locked the door, I can now check up from anywhere in the world and ensure my home is locked up. The app is simple to use and helps guide you through the install. It doesn’t have many features other than the standard ones but it does them well and is instant to update the status of the door. ### 5/5 — Kubu door locks *2022-10-27, version 6.0.2* I’ve bought 2 door looks which were very easy to fit, only taken 5-10mins per door. The hub on the wall changes colour to show one of the door locks is unlocked, this also shows on the app on your phone, as soon as the door is unlocked. In fairness it was a free offer which came with our door supplier. We wondered how it would make a difference so set it up which was easy to do with the supplied instructions that were in the kit. We each down loaded the App and I ‘shared’ the door with my wife and eldest child. It has been very useful for us as a family, especially when the kids are old enough for a key! So much so we are getting another sensor for the back door. We have had several app updates in this time, each one an improvement over the last. Each member of the family with the app now gets an alert if the door has been locked or opened. This can be adjusted in notifications. If I could suggest another improvement it would be for each family member to make use of the geofence perimeter notification. Presently it only works for the account holder user who initially shared the door. It is really good, if you leave the house perimeter without locking the door the user gets a warning notification. Other ‘shared’ users can obviously use the app as normal to readily see if the door is locked or not if they have forgot. Kubu-home.com is a great company website and has all the details you need, the staff are very responsive and keen to help. If you own a door with the Kubu feature get the kit, like us you will soon love it! ### 5/5 — Highly Recommend Kubu Smart *2021-04-29, version 5.3.5* We recently installed Kubu Smart and we have been super impressed. It’s a great system and the customer service has been amazing. ### 5/5 — Simple but Very Effective *2021-04-18, version 5.3.5* How many time have you, like me, got 2 miles down the road and thought did I lock that door! This app solves that dilemma. It will warn you if you have a door unlocked, it will tell you what doors are and are not locked at scheduled times (just before bedtime for example) and if you plug in the dongle/hub in a place you can see it the light colour indicates if there is a door unlocked. No fancy stuff, it does not control the lock it just tells you if it is or isn’t locked. Very easy to install and set up (just make sure your door is Kubu ready, normally new doors only). I have had these in my doors for 6 months now since having new doors and windows fitted to the house and have had only one problem which was not Kubu’s fault, like others have mentioned the customer service is outstanding Ryan is really knowledgable and helpful.
