When you pay the check through the phone, they tell you to put your email so the rewards are counted. It never happens, and they cannot do anything at the store for those check that are paid by the phone. Meantime, they encourage you to pay with the phone. A complete scam to collect your personal data. ### 1/5 — Useless *2022-12-30, version 1.0.13* Called to get on waitlist. Was told to I had to use the app. Ok fine. Download app, enter email, phone number before I can even see the wait time. 88 minute wait and accepting walk-ins only. Poor app poor restaurant ### 1/5 — Needs improvement *2022-11-06, version 1.0.13* I only use the app to get us on a waitlist and pay. Paying is fine, but the waitlist feature is unhelpful. It’ll say there’s a 50 min wait on screen, then when I make a waitlist request it’ll change to a 30 min wait. Ok great but I wasn’t expecting that, now I have to change my plans. If I waitlist 20 minutes later, it pops out a new wait time of 45 minutes, counter to the 1hr+ wait time on the screen. I would prefer accurate reporting. Also you cannot undo a waitlist request, so even though my plans have changed and I’m not going to use that spot anymore, it’s still hitting the restarting queue and they’re still having to deal with it. It’s rather inconvenient for all parties. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2022-10-12, version 1.0.13* All I want is to know how long the waitlist is at the restaurant. First you require me to download this app, then you require my email AND my phone number before I can find this information. That’s ridiculous. I’m deleting this app now. I wanted to try your restaurant, but I can get sushi somewhere else where they respect their customers’ time and privacy. ### 1/5 — MAKE A CAMERA FETURE TO GET POINTS!! *2022-09-24, version 1.0.13* I love this sushi place. It’s literally my top 3 I have been going for the past 3-4 years at least 40-50 times a YEAR. I kid you not. I love it even more now that it’s completely contactless with the robot. HOWEVER, I have NEVER been able to get points because the app doesn’t let me scan the tablet at my table. Nor does it have an option to scan in receipts. They advertise downloading the app for rewards all over the restaurant and you’d think they’d actually have a semi-decent app- this app is trash. Employees know the app is bad too, they just act like it works. Whenever I’ve asked them about it, they just tell me that my points will load later - yea right!! I can’t use app to get points. I give up and deleted it off iPhone. If anything use the yelp integration. The sign up process takes as much time as a credit card application. I selected my store, and BAM, couldn’t register. Called the store, listened to 3 minutes of blah blah blah until I got the info to get in contact with someone (it’s the number 4). Only to be told that I couldn’t get in the wait list because of a 3 hour wait. I understand the wait, no problem. But 5-10 minutes farting around with and app and phone calls. What the H y’all. ### 1/5 — Useless app *2022-03-23, version 1.0.12* Downloaded the app for the 5$ off every 50 spent but didn’t found anywhere in the app to accept the coupon. It’s ridiculous. Also the point expires? People don’t go to sushi every two weeks so it’s a waste of points accumulation. There’s never coupons, all i get is promotional emails. This app is awful. Please improve it. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — bad waitlist *2023-10-08* The company pushes people to use their app to have a better experience with wait times for the restaurant. The waitlist feature maxes out at 60+ mins so you have no idea if you are supposed to wait one hour or four hours. And once it got to 15-30 mins left they told me to check in with the host ASAP cause if they call my name Id lose my space. 30 mins ended up being another 2 hours. Poorly designed way to keep track of your spot, inaccurate wait times ### 1/5 — The few features it has are useless *2023-09-20* - Rewards don’t work. There’s supposed to be a $5 coupon for every $50 spent and I never get any after multiple meals $100+ - Waitlist function is impractical. It used to show your spot in line and updated wait time. It no longer shows either (wait time is available but only “60+ min” and it never updated when the clerk said we were third in line). ### 1/5 — Need to change waitlist ASAP *2023-09-17* Their waitlist system has been bad for years, little did I know it could actually get worse with their newest iteration. We do not complain about things unless they are profoundly dumb and this my friends is the worst. And then the people who work there say sorry it’s not me it’s the bad system- well guess what you’re working for this company so you have to do right by your customer. ### 1/5 — New Waitlist System *2023-08-22* Adjusting my rating from 5 stars to 1 star. The new waitlist system is profoundly terrible. The wait time ranges are useless. At least the previous numbered system made sense, showed you EXACTLY where you are in the queue and you can generally see how fast each number goes by so you could accurately estimate your own wait time. This feature is basically the sole reason I haven’t been in a while. Please switch back. ### 1/5 — AppIs absolutely pointless *2023-07-21* Joining the waitlist on the app and given an estimated wait time thinking we will “ACTUALLY” already be on the waitlist and states you will get a text when it’s ready but, once you arrive you still have to check in and your wait time starts again according to the current wait time at the restaurant and no one is getting any text when table is ready. App is totally useless. ### 1/5 — Waitlist is a lie *2023-06-29* Why even create this app and say you can waitlist remotely? Waited 25 minutes until app texted that our table was ready and to check in with host. Host then explains that the “waitlist” doesn’t actually start until you physically check in even though the restaurant has multiple signs saying you can remotely check in. What is the purpose of even having a digital waitlist in the app like every other restaurant, and then make up different rules once you arrive in person. Or if you want to use different rules, just communicate them to the customer that they must physically check in with host to start the wait time. What a waste of time. ### 1/5 — It has one major function and doesn’t work *2023-06-22* The major use for this app is to add yourself to the waitlist and monitor wait times. Having been unable to select the location makes the app pointless. Also, not empowering employees at the restaurant to add guests manually makes this a frustrating visit even before I get there. Don’t do a waitlist if you don’t want to. But don’t give an option that doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — One of the worst apps I’ve ever used *2023-04-09* I’m talking in the whole history of iPhones, I can’t remember the last time an app has been so useless and frustrating. Since I’ve downloaded it, we’ve gone to different Kura restaurants several times and the waitlist feature has never worked. I’ve had issues with my points updating and there’s nowhere to request help. You can’t access order history anywhere. I mean, really, what is the point of this garbage? Especially for a place that seems to be touting a futuristic technology-friendly vibe, with its robot butler and tablets used for pretty much everything. ### 1/5 — Awful App *2023-03-27* I tried to get on the waitlist today. Can’t put in the location of my Kura because nothing happens when I click on the link for store. It says more locations coming and I can’t get it to work to change it. And the submit button didn’t work. My friend in the car next to me gets us on the waitlist. Go figure. I have never been able to use this app. Worthless. ### 1/5 — This app is a complete joke *2023-03-18* Multiple red flags with this app. There’s no place to make a reservation. When you try to make a reservation or view your spot, there’s no option to select your restaurant. If you call the closest restaurant they’ll tell you to use their website. The website is the same way and they don’t give any explanation for it. The app is notoriously slow and laggy. Kura has awesome sushi but not so good app developers. -Note this resolved itself later the same day. Seemed to be a website issue rather that the app itself. Giving the app three stars for now since I won’t try the order function until my next sushi order ( perhaps next week). ### 3/5 — Waitlist works but rewards not going through *2021-02-19, version 1.0.4* The waitlist works just fine but my reward points aren’t going through the app. So I miss coupons all the time. They need to fix this. When I do have coupon to use, it doesn’t go through their system at the restaurant anyways sometimes. ### 2/5 — Worst Sushi App! Slow! Asks for name & phone txt confirmation over & over *2023-02-20, version 1.0.13* What is the point of having a Sushi App & Reward Program if the app keeps asking for the name of the Member every time they open the app, every time they begin an order and every time they go to checkout the order, worst part is the app keeps asking for phone confirmation via sms txt every time you want to order.
