The app is great. KXT plays a very unique mixture of classic rock, alternative, folk, country, and postmodern rock from artists from all locales, including North Texas. I love Soundtrack at Seven Monday through Friday, and also Funky Fridays. I wish the station would pick up Sound Opinions (miss it when I lived in Chicago and listened to it on WXRT and WBEZ) and some of the Sunday evening programming is not my favorites, but, overall, KXT has been an essential companion of my first year in the Metroplex! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Love the music, app blows *2019-01-04, version 3.9.24* I loved KXT, one of my favorite stations ever, but when I stream through the app on my phone, eventually it makes a burping sound and then it sounds like my speaker is underwater. Very frustrating! ### 1/5 — Experiencing problems with the app *2018-06-21, version 3.8.40* In the last month I am experiencing problems streaming on all devices. The sound is very hollow and metallic. This has been my family’s favorite app but we have found the recent streaming issues prevent our ability to enjoy the station. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2017-12-19, version 3.8.36* KXT and KERA are absolutely great. This horrible app makes them almost impossible to listen to. On KERA, multiple, Ill-timed commercials often interrupt the SAME story. The feed will often simply stop for 30 seconds or a minute, the restart all on its own. I’m on a new phone using the current version of the app. Other streaming apps - both radio and television - work flawlessly. This app does not, and I’m done. Will GLADLY up my rating to 5 stars if this is fixed: The play button being in the far left corner on the bottom is such a pain to reach as a right-handed person while on the go. May not sound like a huge deal, but I listen on my phone multiple times a day and I’m tired of overextending my thumb 😭 I’d recommend something similar to the NPR One app in the top center, or bottom right. ### 4/5 — Awesome playlists *2024-04-28, version 4.6.38* Glad to be a member. KXT programs great music and always feels like a great mix of new and venerable. One bug however; in Carplay, the song playing doesn't update.
