Taking forward its continuous efforts of building an active democratic citizenry in the country, Election Commission of India has undertaken a new initiative by designing a Mobile Application to show information published by candidates during nomination regarding their criminal antecedents, so that at one stroke, each voter gets such information on his/her mobile phone. Candidate submit their self declaration that they are not involved in any criminal case, they can fake it as well. And lot of people who are not educated would not be bothered to file an RTI against the candidate or investigate if there is any criminal complaint against the candidate. Since we know till what extent the politics of our country is corrupt they can easily bribe the police and erase the evidence. The government needs to make amendments to this app to maintain full transparency of the candidates. **Developer response:** Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
