The setup used to be streamlined for easy urgent-care check-ins. Now, before you can even open the dashboard, it asks questions that cannot be skipped pertaining to: “biological sex,” (which is confusing nomenclature, especially for people born intersex), weight, and height (it fails to explain why the app needs this if a doctor would check for vitals). Most egregiously, it has a very clickbaity “see how long you would live” timeline on the top of the dashboard, which is terribly unscientific. It refers to blood pressure readings without explaining where the data came from, and labels as either “normal” or “abnormal” without explaining the criteria. After redownloading the app I could not find any information from my previous urgent care visits, which would seem to be the point of the app in the first place? The app feels designed to collect and sell data, period. There is nothing about the design that instills trust or conveys any sense of discretion. ### 2/5 — Too many questions *2024-09-22* I installed the app for my follow up visit, but I didn’t even have a chance to try it as it started asking me a gazillion questions about my medical history even though I was in the office just a day before. Had to call their front desk instead. Joining the video call does not even work from the app. I had to use the zoom link provided in the email after waiting for several minutes for the app to try to connect. There is no way to follow up with the doctor after your call. And they don't provide any notes or follow up after your appointment. Just simple user experience is not covered. Adding child as dependent 4 times and cannot skip the insurance information as it’s been found in DB. If it’s found what should be done? Notify the user that insurance is found and keep adding the child. What we got in the app? I CANNOT ADD MY CHILD. Error shows even if I want to skip adding insurance screen. Is there a logic problem in the code or testing wasn’t done? Come on guys, this app must help to register users fast without additional effort from user. Then doesn’t process my insurance info and informs me the ‘free’ test will be $230. So actually it was never free, that’s completely misleading. Either you pay directly, or you pay for your insurance which pays for the test. Not free. Looking for other options now… ### 1/5 — Clunky and Long *2022-02-17, version 2.6.5* This is a horrible app. Entering all the information possible only to get to a bot chat and then in a loop of “get a COVID test without an appointment” go to the app, there is no QR code - just a continuous “get the app!” When I’m in the app….ugh. Forcing patients to schedule even when at center via app is ridiculous and schedules to different locations or virtual by default wasting energy and time. The nightmare started after using the app once. There were multiple tests submitted to the labs using my account. I called the clinic to identify who used my account or it might be hacked. But the clinic told me that it was the app generated various tests using my account. Wildly inappropriate feature. Was forced to download this to make a “walk-in appointment” and now am getting all sorts of spam emails from Kyla. Gross to have this app trying to milk as much health data as possible from me to train their AI or whatever. It doesn’t even work. ### 1/5 — 🚩 privacy practices *2023-12-30* This app is run by a new software company with no reputation that crosses boundaries between advertising and health data handling. The following are excerpts from their privacy policy: “We will share your protected health information with third party ‘business associates’” “ We may use or disclose your protected health information, as necessary, to provide you with information about treatment alternatives or other health-related benefits and services that may be of interest to you.” “ “Protected health information” is information about you, including demographic information, that may identify you that relates to your past, present or future physical or mental health condition and related health care services.” There are many other ways they list of sharing your data that require your advance, *written* disapproval to stop. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2023-09-13* Hands down worst app I have ever used. They are pleasant, efficient and run on time. The care was friendly and professional. They took us back at the time of our appointment which does not always happen. I had to get a COVID test for work & traveling & was recommended this app. It was super easy to set up an account, enter my insurance information & speak with a doctor to get my COVID test for FREE. Not only this they have so many facilities around the Bay Area it was very easy to get my test completed. The whole process took less than an hour including driving & getting my COVID test. My test results were even sent through the system within the timeframe the nurse had told me. The doctor was extremely nice, took the time to speak with me and put my anxieties at easy during my consultation. While on this app I also explored it’s other features related to diet, exercise & lifestyle. This is an amazing app that you allows you to access a doctor at the convenience of your house and because of the Kyla app we didn’t have to pay anything. I would highly recommend this app to anyone needing a COVID test or for someone looking for easy access to helpful information & doctors at a push of a button.
