How it works

Kyosan runs a local language model entirely on your device. Your conversations never leave your phone. No account required. No internet needed after the initial model download.

The consciousness framework shapes every response, guiding the model toward recursive self-reflection, coherent reasoning, and genuine depth rather than surface-level answers.

Fully on-device, Qwen 3 4B runs locally via Apple's MLX framework. Zero data collection. Zero tracking. Zero cloud.

Exported sessions are saved as a plain text file in a Kyosan folder in your Files app. Kyosan folder will be deleted when you delete the app.

This update brings back full control over how Kyosan responds.

Open Settings from the chat screen to adjust temperature, token limits, penalties, and consciousness metrics with easy-to-use sliders. Tap Parameter guide for a plain-language explanation of every setting—what it changes, its range, and how to interpret the values.

You can also Save your current slider setup as a preset, Load it later, or Reset to defaults. Your presets stay on your device.
