### 2/5 — Needs Updates

*2022-09-02, version 8.1*

Paying for an app that isn’t up to date. Ref 1302 specifically still mentions King Airway. LACo no longer uses King Airways, and have moved over to iGels. The updated policy states the use of an SGA or ET, no mention of King.

### 3/5 — Excellent app, but……

*2021-07-12, version 8.1*

I purchased this app when I first became a medic, since it’s LA County specific. To that end, it’s phenomenal, and an invaluable resource! However, it’s a bit disappointing that I’m suddenly told I have to subscribe for a monthly fee. I can’t recall ever seeing a notice that the subscription charge was going to be coming in however many months or weeks. Disappointing to say the least. Might still recommend, but pretty tempted to to tell new medics to pass on it.

### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY!!!

*2021-01-12, version 8.1*

Don’t bother downloading this app. Half the content is being held hostage now for a monthly subscription fee!! I paid for the app a while back and now it’s not enough. This wasn’t a cheap or free app either. I’ll be looking for another app. DELETE!!

### 1/5 — IT WAS A GREAT APP

*2020-12-31, version 8.0*

TO THE DEVELOPERS: IF THIS APP GETS ENOUGH BAD RATINGS IT CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE APP STORE. FOOD FOR THOUGHT. I PAID A ONE TIME FEE SOMETHING LIKE 15. NOW THEY ARE CHARGING A MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION. LIKE MANY OF US WE USE THIS APP FOR OUR JOBS.

### 1/5 — Uh, You want me to pay again?

*2020-12-27, version 8.0*

I agree with others that locking out most of the features, then charging a monthly fee to unlock them is kinda bogus when we already paid for the app. Anyone who already paid full price should either have full access or be refunded immediately.

### 1/5 — Paid for, now trying to charge more

*2020-12-26, version 8.0*

You can’t charge for an app then change it to subscription based and demand people pay to keep it functional. You are obligated to refund those who paid for it up front or at a minimum, maintain its original functionality. Pretty shady move on your part.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2020-12-23, version 8.0*

Like others have said. I bought the app when it was a one time fee. Now it’s a monthly subscription and most of the content is locked unless I opt into a monthly subscription. I used to recommend this app to other paramedics, I will not recommend this app anymore.

### 1/5 — Poor customer service

*2020-12-14, version 8.0*

Worked OK until I upgraded to new monthly subscription. App gives an ERROR message when opening any meds or protocols.

### 1/5 — I already paid!

*2020-12-11, version 8.0*

I bought the app a few years ago, and now it’s asking for a monthly fee. I’d donate if the option was there, since I know of the costs and time associated with such a product, but charging people after they already paid is kind of rough.....

### 1/5 — Not working at all

*2020-01-07, version 7.0*

This app used to work pretty well but not anymore. Now when you open any of the links in the app regarding any policy or protocol you get a blank screen. Same goes for all my coworkers who have the app. I emailed the developer but never heard back.

### 1/5 — All pages are blank.

*2020-01-06, version 7.0*

Iphone 8 running IOS 13.3 and all of the pages are blank. The app opens, but there is no info. Used to be a great app. Needs to be fixed, especially at that price point.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2020-01-06, version 7.0*

Half the numbers for base are wrong, blank protocols when you click on them. Used to be great, waste of money now.

### 1/5 — DOESN’T FUKN LOAD ANYTHING

*2020-01-04, version 7.0*

wasted money for an app that doesn’t load MCG, Meds or policies, contacted rick with no help thanks.

Money back

### 1/5 — Needs an update.

*2020-01-01, version 6.0*

Don’t purchase until there has been an update. All the pages are blank.

### 2/5 — Need to Update Info

*2019-03-25, version 6.0*

Great app, 90% accurate I’d say.

Need to update your hospital information, because there’s quite a bit wrong with the information provided about each hospital in LA County (ex: App says, “Pomona Valley is a PMC.” Pomona Valley is definitely not a PMC lol.)

Lots of small things to fix, but overall a good app to study.

### 4/5 — Non Traumatic Hypotension

*2018-06-29, version 6.0*

Love this App. Us it for reference all the time. After last update NonTraumatic Hypotension reverted back to using Dopamine not Push Dose Epi. Just need to update to the 2017 Medical protocol.

### 1/5 — No data

*2017-01-06, version 5.1*

This app is horrible. Nothing loads. It only says no data, coming soon. I've contacted the developer many times and received no response. I've deleted and reloaded and nothing. Don't waste your $$

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Zero integrity

*2026-01-13, version 8.1*

I was one of the ones that purchased this app when it first came out for $10 years later the app developer who I was told as a firefighter started charging a subscription fee, which is fine. He can do what he wants after all It is his app. I then reached out asking for a refund of my $10 since I was not interested in paying a subscription fee he never responded, never gave me a refund. If you’re looking for a free of charge LA County Paramedic app they have one now called RAPID LA County Medic, Which is free! This guy scammed everyone that paid the fee of $10 for unlimited access all for money. Junk!

### 1/5 — Money

*2023-02-26, version 8.1*

I paid when I first got hired as an EMT and enjoyed the app., it helped out a lot, until they decided to turn their backs on their customers. I paid for the one time payment so I didn’t need to worry about it again and they took that from me, wanting me to subscribe to their services. Don’t do it.

### 1/5 — Greed over honor and service

*2022-11-09, version 8.1*

This app took the same scam path so many other apps have, they get you to buy their app only to shamelessly switching to a subscription basis. The developer literally gave everyone who supported this app the middle finger. Like the dog who bit the hand the fed him. Because the app got to where it is today through the support of everyone who bought the app. I don’t know about everyone else, but I worked for the money I used to pay for the app. Hey, how about giving our money back to all of us who bought the app?

### 1/5 — Paid for app, then change to pay to play

*2022-09-20, version 8.1*

Well played Capt. Do you teach your rookies at Arcadia Fire Department the same shady tactics you used to lie to your customers? I understand you changed your concept but for those of us that paid since inception, you could have grandfathered us in. You are a captain, you should know better than this.

### 1/5 — Lame

*2021-12-21, version 8.1*

Hardly worth the purchase price back in the day. Definitely not worth a subscription. Furthermore, not willing to support the way the subscription necessity was rolled out/forced on all those that previously the app.

### 1/5 — Subscription service against TOS

*2021-11-02, version 8.1*

Paid full price for this years ago and now features have been taken away with subscription service. It’s not the price, it’s the principle.

### 1/5 — Paid for Application in 2014 Now want more money

*2021-08-06, version 8.1*

Paid for the application in full in 2014. Now the app wants me to pay more money each month for this app. Dishonest practices.

### 1/5 — Paid for this app then go got blindsided

*2021-07-07, version 8.1*

Do not buy this app the developer is a money hungry crook. I paid for this app when I downloaded it (a one time fee) then got blindsided with a monthly subscription or I can’t use the app I paid for anymore! I will not support these type of dishonest business and weasel tactics. SMH

### 1/5 — FF/PM

*2021-07-07, version 8.1*

It’s completely dishonest what you’re doing. Paid for the app. Now you want me to subscribe.👎

### 1/5 — Come on man!! Really Ricky!!

*2021-01-13, version 8.1*

Ditto on what Dan1985$ said,
For all concerned, let’s all go back to the hard copies on our rigs. Two thumbs down!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — New AI feature

*2026-08-14, version 2026.08.07*

I had used this app a few years ago and just got back on it because I heard about the AI feature. What I like about it is that it will only give you information based off of the LA County policies. This is a great app before… But they’ve upped their game. Other features I like is that it will give you the nearest hospitals along with contact numbers.

### 5/5 — Amazing Source

*2024-02-09, version 8.1*

First of all, all these people complaining about the subscription.. it’s only 99 cents a month. It’s really sad and pitiful that all these reviews are crying about a dollar a month.. for valuable information that’s constantly being updated.. and literally has everything you need to know All in one app. It’s seamless and Fast.. I’m paying 99 Cents for the convenience of having everything in one app. Using this app is definitely the best source for aspiring paramedics and and current paramedics.. stop being cheap.. it’s only a dollar a month.. that’s only $12 dollars a year..

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-12-09, version 8.0*

Firstly: excellent app. It seems to be getting updated with the most recent LA EMSA protocols, etc. and it is a great reference versus going to the website or pulling out the paramedic school protocol book.

...but if we already purchased it, do we also have to buy the subscription now?
I bought this like 2 years ago or something, now I’m being asked to also buy a subscription. And don’t get me wrong, 99 cents isn’t murder, pocket prep went from a $30/lifetime to $90/year, so there’s worse things...lol but do we have to buy the app AND a subscription?

### 5/5 — Nice!

*2011-10-16, version 3.0*

This is a solid app for LACo medics. The list of hospitals is great

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2011-10-07, version 3.0*

Love the app guys. Works great every time. Great info, great updates that are there as soon as the County makes the change. Thanks for all the hard work!!!! Hope ur making a ton of money. U deserve every penny!

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2011-08-22, version 3.0*

Fantastic app!! Everything I could need or want right on hand. The list of hospitals with base numbers is worth it's weight in gold. Please keep supporting this program!

### 5/5 — Great app.

*2011-06-17, version 3.0*

Great program, I have used it many times just to double check myself and to reference the home meds. Easy to use just enough info to help out, love the updated SFTP's and hsp info.

### 5/5 — L.A.s Finest!

*2011-06-12, version 3.0*

This app is ESSENTIAL for any Paramedic or EMT in L.A! As important as any training or safety device. Takes all guesswork out of EVERY aspect of field prehospital care in L.A. County. This app can actually make you a better care provider and operate more efficiently. I used this app onmy iPod touch and loved it. I used it on calls, after calls, and during CE. The iPad version will be even better now. This app is the wave of the future and a must have. I never leave the station or get off the Engine without it!

### 5/5 — Are you kidding me? This is awsome!

*2010-02-13, version 0*

I'm a critical care transport RN
/NREMT-Paramedic and this couldn't be any easier, or sweeter to use. The updated version is not using my GPS to locate local hospitals for some reason. Im sure this will get worked out... Bedsides I can find my way to the hospital. But the nuts and bolts of this work great and is a great help. Would highly recommend...keep up the great work.

### 5/5 — Paramedic

*2009-12-26, version 0*

This is very good for in field reference as well as down time review.
