Paid for subscription
I paid for subscription and turns out I need to pay more to use many of the “features” that at first were not locked behind a paywall. Very disappointing and disingenuous company. Get the app Prequel over this.

Used to love it; just another once-good app ruined with subscriptions
I ***used to*** love Labbet and used it for almost all of my editing—lots of great filters, textures, and more advanced edits like lens/motion blur. Unfortunately, they’ve also fallen victim to corporate greed, and all of the presets I made MYSELF now have features that are hidden behind a paywall. No more blurs, focus, glows, or grains! Basically any functionality you’d use for a cool vintage edit is subscription-only. A one-time purchase is all fine and good, but this monthly/yearly micro-purchase culture is just outlandish. A monumental letdown, to say the least.

I genuinely enjoy this app. I’m a photographer who works with Canon and Nikon cameras, as well as an iPhone when convenience matters. For years, Photoshop and Lightroom have been my primary editing tools, but they are not always practical when I’m working quickly on a phone. I recently discovered Labbet alongside RNI, and I have been thoroughly impressed.
I chose one of the lower-priced options because I’m still relatively new to the app, but I think the pricing is very reasonable. There are enough choices that you never feel forced into an expensive subscription simply to make the app useful.
What stands out most to me is the quality of the analog processing. I have been working with photography and digital imaging for many years, and these are some of the most convincing analog-style filters I have encountered in a long time. They feel photographic rather than gimmicky. The color, grain, texture, and overall character are handled with a level of restraint that is surprisingly difficult to find in mobile editing apps.
I also appreciate that the app has not become dominated by AI. If AI is being used anywhere behind the scenes, it does not overwhelm the actual photographic tools or replace the creative process. That matters to me.
Another major positive is the way Labbet continues adding new filters and features without immediately turning every addition into another charge. I have moved away from other editing apps for exactly that reason. Once some of them introduced AI features, users who were already paying annual subscription fees were suddenly expected to purchase additional credits or points just to use those tools. I find that model extremely frustrating.
Labbet feels different. It respects both the photographer and the photograph.
As a standalone mobile editor, it is phenomenal. For someone who loves the character of analog photography but occasionally needs to work quickly on an iPhone, Labbet gives me exactly what I want almost instantly. It has quickly become one of my favorite photography apps.
