### 2/5 — Cannot add note to a series

*2026-06-07, version 2.13.1*

Cannot add a note to a series. It has mandatory fields that when filled in the app crashes.

### 4/5 — Could be better

*2025-08-26, version 2.12.3*

It works, but for whatever reason, sometimes the radar and app will disconnect and you have to close and restart the app and/or radar. I wish there was an ability to add photos of targets to shot strings. Otherwise, seems to be a good app.

### 4/5 — Just an app

*2025-04-27, version 2.12.1*

Seems people either love or hate the thing.
Seems OK to me, perhaps the version I use is improved compared to others, I have no issues with disconnects, works fine.

### 2/5 — mylabradar app bugs and tech support

*2024-08-30, version 2.9.0*

I recently installed the LabRadar app update. This update has an annoying bug that duplicates every shot in a series. The data in every shot in a series is recorded twice. I called LabRadar to get some help on this. The voice response system refers callers to a number in Quebec that has another voice response system that goes unanswered. I left a voice message at this number and have not received a call back. Poor customer service.

### 2/5 — Poor App Functionality

*2023-12-16, version 2.5.9*

Ongoing issues getting into the setting of my LabRadar through the app. Even with the latest firmware which took forever to come out with, the app still continues to freeze at the loading screen while trying to change/update settings. The LabRadar also has a lot of functionality problems when it comes to subsonic ammo and shooting suppressed where velocities are a huge factor in achieving the correct loads.

### 2/5 — Labrador app. needs a lot of work.

*2023-09-23, version 2.5.9*

This app is better than nothing at all… just barely. The software appears to have been written by a child. Bluetooth connection fails every few minutes, if you turn off tracking via the app, you have to power cycle your Labradar to reconnect. and so on and so on. Labradar need to hire the Vortex Ranger software department to fix this app for them.

### 2/5 — App based control issues

*2023-09-23, version 2.5.9*

App is somewhat finicky and loses connectivity with device at close range and or freezes while switching between functions or viewing series. At the range it picks up too much adjacent fire which is understandable but when you delete shots from your series that don’t belong to you you shot series summaries do not change.

### 1/5 — Useless app

*2023-08-15, version 2.5.5*

This app is totally useless as it does not connect via Bluetooth in IOS or android. I will not recommend LabRadar as a product as it was advertised that Bluetooth connection works on this product.

### 2/5 — Constantly removing and reloading app

*2023-08-13, version 2.5.5*

It crashes and fails every series. This seems to be a problem they either don’t care about or don’t know how to address.

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2023-07-16, version 2.5.5*

App crashes all the time and when you try to erases single shot from a string app completely crashes and Bluetooth always disconnects and shuts off.
App needs a lot of work.

### 1/5 — Poor connectivity unable to initially arm from app

*2023-07-15, version 2.5.5*

After running the app update for 7’ish months, there are a couple of serious issues that need to be addressed. 1) The app loses connectivity way too often. In a 2-3 hour session, I have come to expect the app to disconnect at least 6 times. 2) You cannot arm the unit on a new string the first time from the app, you have to break your shooting position and do the initial arm on the radar itself. Both of these are inexcusable flaws in the app. For the cost of the LabRadar you should expect to have a fully functional and stable app. The fact that we are 7-8 months into the last major app update and these 2 issue still exist is unacceptable.

There are definitely some other ways the app could be better:

1) Environmentals - This info should automatically populate form the connected device.

2) Profiles - You should be able to set up and save a profile for each weapon. In addition strings should be mapped to each applicable weapon profile.

3) Bullet library - There should be a bullet library of the most popular bullets by caliber available along with the ability to add custom profiles.

If the critical items above were resolved and the “wish list” items were implemented the LabRadar would stand alone as the top dog in its field. Currently the app is its Achilles heel. There are competitors coming to the market that will leave the LabRadar in the dust if the developers don’t get issues patched and offer continuous improvements and features to the app.

### 4/5 — LabRadar

*2023-06-02, version 2.5.5*

Une version dans ma langue serait grandement appréciée
Merci

### 2/5 — App keeps dropping connection Update 5/2023

*2023-05-01, version 2.5.5*

I love the radar but the app is glitchy. I have changed all my settings that would time out my phone and the radar app and the app still loses its connection. I think I have it take one shot and the app captures the one shot then loses connection. What is going on. Not sure if it’s the new update or what but this making me want to go back to the old style chronograph and that was miserable compared to the radar app. Please fix!!!!!

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2023-04-30, version 2.5.5*

While the LabRadar unit itself is nice when you can get it to consistently acquire each shot, the app is just horrible. You can’t do anything without being connected to the unit. So, you’re burning battery while you’re setting up strings, etc. It also disconnects constantly. The only thing you can edit per string is it’s name. Forgot to change the bullet weight in settings? Well, you’re stuck and can’t do a simple edit. For weather conditions, you have to enter manually whereas other apps pull the data from your phone. Switching back and forth between strings fails. When I change back to a prior string on the app, the unit still records to the existing string. For the price of the unit, they really need to fire their app designer and hire someone who knows what they are doing. They need to look to their competitors for good app function. I’m honestly thinking of selling my LabRadar and going back to my ProChrono because Digital Link’s app is light years ahead of LabRadar and was I intuitive and a joy to use. Labradar’s app is just trash and turns a day at the range into a chore.

### 3/5 — Works well when it connects.

*2023-04-13, version 2.5.5*

The labradar itself is awesome. The app works great too, when it works. After it connects, it records for a few shots then disconnects from the Labradar and goes into “known memory mode”. I can reconnect it, but it disconnects after a few more shots.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not great

*2026-06-28, version 2.13.1*

Keeps telling me I need an update but can’t figure out how to update it. Not user friendly. Would recommend the garmin

### 1/5 — Station Pressure

*2025-10-15, version 2.13.1*

App crashes every time I try to save station pressure

### 1/5 — Labradar

*2025-06-20, version 2.12.1*

The Bluetooth function is horrendous, the length time of deleting a shot on the unit itself is like early 80’s computer speed at best. It disconnects Bluetooth every time you select something and wait just for it to disconnect. Honestly with such a bad experience I dunno if I would upgrade to the new smaller Labradar and instead look at Garmin, Athlon or even the Caldwell unit.

### 1/5 — Unusable due to constant crashing!!!

*2024-11-15, version 2.10.1*

If I could submit a zero star review I would. This app is totally useless due to their horrible software quality! The app will crash almost every time you make a settings change. I’ve tried multiple devices and its very consistent. The Labradar cost WAY too much for this kind of issue and I am very disappointed.

### 1/5 — Hard to use and lacking functionality

*2024-05-10, version 2.8.0*

Nothing about how you operate the LabRadar is intuitive. It is a very old school DOS flavor of operation. Where you had to have things set perfect before you use it.

Amazing that after all this time you can’t change the projectile weight for the series and have it recalculate anything in app.

You mess that up before you shoot your series? Too bad, you’re doing it all again.

That’s just rotten to do to users. Downright evil.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money on this product!

*2023-12-29, version 2.6.0*

I normally don’t write bad reviews but I just can’t stand a company that takes forever to make updates and when they finally do they don’t fix the problem. I have had my Labradar for several years and paid a lot more than they sell for now so you can understand why I have such a problem when I have only seen one update in the five years I’ve had it and for that update to not fix the problems just tells me how bad of a company they are. This is just a few of the issues. It loses connection all the time and when you have to reconnect it it has to spend 40 seconds updating every time. I have several other Bluetooth products that auto connect and manually connect in 2 seconds. Why can’t the Labradar do it. It goes to a blank white screen every time you delete a false reading. The app is not very well thought out for someone that has to test reloading with multiple grains. You should be able to setup profiles for multiple calibers before going to the range. It should allow you to work offline and update when you connect. You have to be connected to delete shots. Good luck staying connected long enough to do that. Obviously you can’t or don’t understand how to design a user friendly app or product. Just pay someone that does before a company comes a long and builds a better product and you can’t sell yours anymore because you just don’t care enough to fix all the problems. It is sad to think you are the leader in your industry and gave it all away.

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage

*2023-11-05, version 2.5.9*

Worst app and the developers don’t even care to fix its problems. That’s ok, luckily there are other Doppler radar systems out on the market. I hope LabRadar goes bankrupt.

### 1/5 — Struggles

*2023-10-03, version 2.5.9*

The app is great when it works, but the LabRadar continuously disconnects from Bluetooth and requires a restart to get it to reconnect… until next time.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2023-09-19, version 2.5.9*

Fix the app or people will be going to magnetospeed in droves.

### 1/5 — Update is not awesome.

*2023-09-16*

Newest update is worse than the last. Have to restart the app every time I’m finished shooting a series for the shots to show up in that series. Also still does not have an arm feature in the app unless I arm it on the unit, then disarm in the app. Arm button shows up then but only for the current series. I expect more for the $.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very nice!

*2025-02-22, version 2.11.3*

I’m very happy that the app has gotten some much-needed attention. The current version has some nice functional upgrades and has been completely stable for me. I haven’t lost the connection to my Labradar once.

### 5/5 — Labradar App

*2024-12-29, version 2.10.1*

Easy to use and everything is convenient and this app makes using the device so much easier on the range

### 5/5 — Works great

*2024-12-05, version 2.10.1*

I use my LabRadar LX on a daily basis when testing rimfire ammunition. I put somewhere between 600 to 1,000 rounds across it daily. This thing works great! I would like to be able to set temperature and barometric pressure straight from the app.

### 5/5 — Dutch

*2023-12-10, version 2.5.9*

Exceeded my Expectations

### 5/5 — Belle version

*2023-09-14, version 2.5.9*

La version 1.3.3 offre de nouvelles améliorations très appréciées. Merci à l’équipe.

Je l’utile depuis 6 ans et j’apprécie énormément.

### 5/5 — LabRadar

*2022-12-06, version 2.5.3*

Exceeded my expectations

### 5/5 — Very beneficial update

*2022-01-22*

Old app did the job but was a little clunky and was missing a few things. This new update has added the missing items. New UI allows naming of series and gets useful information front and center. Still some communication issues, had one drop with an hour of use.

### 5/5 — App works much better than its reputation

*2021-02-09, version 1.1*

I am a USPA competitor. And using the Labradar has made the whole process of confirming PF so much faster and easier!
Indoor range is 15 minutes from home. Outdoor range is a minimum of an hour and a half. I love that little orange plate!
The App works better than it’s reputation lets on, based off some of the reviews I read. That said. I wish the menu button, the “Labradar logo” was a little more defined as an actual button. Either an outline that looks like a button. Or even a hamburger button would have been much appreciated.
I also wish we could name the different strings.
Requiring notes to keep track of the amount of data the Labradar is capable of acquiring and holding, is a little silly.
But my two cents aside. The Labradar is an incredible chrono! The app, while not perfect, really does work quite well.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2018-12-29, version 1.1*

It makes using the LabRadar and reviewing data much easier. I had no problems with the connection dropping. I am so happy I don’t have to remember how to manipulate a lot of buttons to review the data.

### 5/5 — Works with Standard and Metric

*2018-06-23, version 1.1*

The app allows for standard or metric settings by swiping the Labradar logo to the right. It exposes lots of menu choices so you don’t ever need to touch your radar except to power it on at the beginning of the day. This is really handy.
