## What is Labviq?

Turn lab reagent labels into structured records with a single photo. labviq captures, identifies and tracks every reagent in your inventory — no manual data entry required.

Built for biotech labs that need reliable, audit-ready records of every reagent that comes through the door.
Photograph a vial label and labviq's vision AI extracts the catalogue number, lot, supplier, hazard codes and expiry — calibrated against a library of 90+ supplier label formats and growing.

Key features:
- Vial label scanning — single photo, structured record. Vision AI tuned to the conventions of major suppliers including Sigma-Aldrich, Cell Signaling, Abcam, Thermo Fisher, BioLegend, Qiagen and more.
- Document ingestion — forward purchase orders, certificates of analysis, packing slips and invoices through email, Google Drive, Slack or direct upload. The system links each document to the right record automatically.
- Multi-source reconciliation — when the same item arrives as a label scan, a CoA and a PO, all three are reconciled into a single record with per-field provenance.
- Canonical enrichment — every record is enriched with structural data, hazard codes and supplier metadata from PubChem, RRID, and direct supplier integrations.
- Audit-ready by design — every observation carries provenance through to a Sources panel. Confirmed-actor-only writes. Aligned with 21 CFR Part 11 and ALCOA+ principles structurally, not retroactively.
- Lifecycle tracking — intake, deposit, retrieval, use and reorder, with every state change captured at the moment it happens.

For labs that need a system of record that is complete by default, not assembled at audit time.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-02

• Location, quantity, and notes typed on the scan review screen are now saved locally right away and shown as "syncing" until they land on the record — no more spinner, no more false "network error" retries that could duplicate an entry.

  • Archive is more reliable. Records archived on the web or another device now stay hidden on this device. Removing a rejected or failed scan actually removes it — it doesn't come back after refresh.

  • The scan detail page's "Archive" button now lights up as soon as a fresh scan finishes syncing to its record.

  • Rejected or failed scans have a Remove option to clear them from your list without keeping them around.

  • Camera tap-to-focus indicator is bigger and easier to see.

  • Session-scoped location shortcuts — when you enter a location on one vial, the next vial in the same session offers it as a one-tap shortcut.

  • Fixed a bug where a delayed backend restart could leave a scan showing "Uploading…" indefinitely — the app now recovers automatically.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-08-19

- Any scan showing FAILED can now be retried from its detail view — tap Retry, no need to rescan.
  - Transient server errors and expired sessions retry automatically.
  - Backgrounding the app or locking your phone during an upload no longer produces a false FAILED.
  - Vial cards now lead with the product name (falling back to supplier).
  - Paperwork uploads (invoices, packing slips, CoAs) now save with the correct filename so the platform labels them as paperwork.
  - Clearer error messages; small stability improvements.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-13

- Team accounts: your lab now shares one library of scans, annotations, and records.
- Faster, more reliable scans on slow networks.
- Rejection reasons now shown clearly when a photo can't be processed.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-07-18

Preview every photo before you save — for both reagent labels and documents.
Retake or Cancel at any step without losing what you already captured.
Fewer rejected scans when one side of the label is blurry or off-frame.
Cleaner bottom bar: Home and Records. Scan straight from the Home screen.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-03

New in this update:

  - Full record detail — every field the extraction pipeline produces (registry IDs, chemical identifiers, safety warnings, applications, physical properties, and more) now appears in the record view, matching what you see on the web.
  - Better close-up camera — kit and vial labels now focus automatically at any comfortable distance. The camera switches to the ultra-wide lens for close-up subjects, the same way the built-in Camera app handles macro.
  - Tap to focus — tap anywhere on the viewfinder to focus and expose that point.
  - Broader label recognition — the pre-scan check now recognises ELISA kit boxes, bottles, cartons, plates, and pouches alongside cylindrical vials.
  - Branded launch screen — the Labviq mark now appears while the app loads, replacing the blank splash some users saw.

  Bug fixes and reliability:

  - Fixed a sign-in issue where some users were bounced back to the sign-in screen immediately after signing in.
  - Fixed a case where the records list could appear empty after a fresh install.
  - Stale "pending" records now recover on their own instead of staying stuck with a badge.
  - Preview thumbnails appear as soon as the image finishes downloading, rather than staying blank until you tap into the record.
  - Fixed a rare case where two different reagents could receive the same incorrect registry ID.
