Today Riverwoods Rd was closed due to a house fire on Hiawatha. I think school busses, school districts should have been notified, not to mention all the people needing to get to work. (At least 5 buses from three districts enter this area.) In addition it would have been helpful to divert the traffic before everyone had to individually speak to the officers trying to close it off to traffic. I appreciate the app having construction notices, but most people see that ahead of time with all the signage and cones starting to be put up. I try to check this whenever I leave the house, especially on long trips. It’s saved me so much time by knowing what roads I need to avoid. During bad weather I open it, put it in a phone holder and keep an eye on it here and there for any new traffic slow downs. I don’t think I’ve ever had a problem with this app. Also, when I forget to check it, I hand my phone to my kid and she knows how to open the app and check our route, so it’s given her a better idea of our area too.
