It’s so silly. ### 1/5 — Needs Improvement *2024-10-16* We signed up for the app with personal info, uploaded credit card, paid, then walked about a mile to station to pick up lamas only to find we needed our ID on the spot. Stuck expecting to have wheels we ended up getting a Lyft. Read reviews to find you must do round trip, and the daily rate is $45 per unit, so getting a moped is cheaper AND most places will drop off the moped to your hotel. ### 1/5 — Poor Instructions *2024-10-16* Walked nearly a mile to scooter after signing up. Launch app to unlock rental and it asks for ID which I didn’t have on me. Couldn’t rent when I needed to, would have been since to know BEFORE walking so far. ### 1/5 — Scam *2023-01-09* Had fun riding scooter in Key West FL until trying to drop off. App indicated a “drop zone” different from our initial rental location. Left scooter at drop zone. Charging station was full. Left scooter. Was charged $100 for not returning scooter to original rental location. Very cryptic terms/policies. Do not rent if you intend to stop somewhere else in KW other than the original rental location **Developer response:** We are glad you had an enjoyable experience riding your e-scooter in Key West. Our app does not indicate a "drop zone". We are sorry that it was not more clear on the instructions at the kiosk and app or each time a ride starts or ends. We try very hard to communicate with text, graphics, animation and pictures that Lama Mobility is a round-trip service allowing you to hop on/off and enjoy the sights and various activities. Once you are done with your ride, you must dock the scooters at the same location you initiated the scooter ride. As there is one docking space for each scooter, there should never be an issue with a full docking station. ### 1/5 — Scammers *2023-01-09* SCAM! So they charged me and my friends $100 EACH extra each for not returning our scooters in the same location. After the app directed us to a location where we were allowed to drop the scooter off. They refunded us after we made a fuss. This is their business model… they hope people don’t notice. They should be legally punished! **Developer response:** We are sorry you had a poor experience, and our customer service agents attempted to assist by refunding each of you the penalty fee for discarding the scooter, whereas you did not return it. We have provided many instructions in various places to be transparent on the rental rules. These rules are posted on signage at the docking stations, on the app instructions and each time you start, pause and end a ride supplemented with text, graphics, animation and pictures explaining that Lama Mobility is a round-trip service allowing you to hop on/off and enjoy the sights and various activities. Once you are done with your ride, you must return the scooters at the same location you initiated the scooter ride. ### 1/5 — Crappy system *2022-11-17* Couldn’t delete account after we got me and my husbands ID mixed up on our phones. Customer support didn’t fix the issue. Ruined our fun night out on the town **Developer response:** We are sorry you had a poor experience due to regulations, each driver must be 18 years or older and provide proof of identification during the registration process. ### 1/5 — Save your $$$$ AVOID LAMA *2022-09-19* The scooters are falling apart, theyre not safe. Overpriced with terrible customer service and horrible App interface. Save yourself the headache & money. What a sham **Developer response:** Sorry that you had a poor experience. Unlike some free-floating e-scooter systems, Lama Mobility Scooters are maintained daily with on-site technicians and go through a thorough preventative maintenance program. Our app does have a chat feature where our customer service agents are available 24/7 to assist. Please let us know what the issue was so we can attempt to resolve for your next ride. ### 1/5 — Price Change *2022-09-02* My husband and I enjoyed using these scooters in Key West at first. However, they changed their pricing overnight from a max of $36/day (which was high enough) to now $45/day. They are definitely NOT worth that. You could rent a car or normal scooter for that price all day in Key West. **Developer response:** We are glad you enjoyed your ride and apologize for not being happy with the price increase you experienced from one of your prior rides. The rates did change in Key West as of September 1st. ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2022-06-17* Costs almost double than an Uber and have to drop it at the same spot - so over priced and not enough stations- waste of money and time **Developer response:** We are sorry you feel this way. Lama Mobility is not a ride-share service. We specialize in providing roundtrip rentals of electric kick scooters from hotels. Our customers rent a Lama from a hotel location and return the Lama to the same location. Our instruction and information explain that each rider must register an individual account on their cell phone due to the 18-year or older age restriction. It was incredibly convenient and enjoyable for our entire day, eliminating concerns about wasting time trying to find a parking spot for the car.
