It’s great, but… - I’d love to be able to search files. - I had to completely delete and reinstall the app to connect to my server, nothing about my setup changed, it was just a weird glitch that required a reinstall. - I’d love to be able to listen to music files on my server, while my screen is off. At the moment, putting my phone to sleep closes the instance, same with minimising the app. ### 3/5 — Works okay but drains the battery *2023-12-19, version 6.3* Everything works ok but the server really drains the battery on my iPad even when I'm not transferring or accessing anything. You can indeed use it as a server and it works but I kept getting crashes when my mac was loading thumbnails or copying videos and so despite looking promising, it isn’t reliable enough to use for me. Packet sniff what it’s doing because something isn’t right. ### 1/5 — That’s a no from me. *2024-03-02* Gave it a shot with the paid version, but experiencing constant interruptions during file transfers. Despite multiple attempts over several days, the app seems unable to complete a single file transfer and, to make matters worse, it triggers my router-modem-switch to restart. Works for small files under say 100MB but anything larger causes the APP to crash back to the iOS screen killing my SMB connection. My case was simply for acrobat for iOS. ### 1/5 — Great Idea but crashes constantly *2022-04-05* The app just crashes literally every 10 seconds while the server is running making it pretty useless. ### 1/5 — Basically useless as it stands *2020-02-06* It’s functional, as in it does start a valid SMB server that is visible to my Windows XP computer. But as other reviewers have mentioned the app immediately limits your connection to almost dialup speeds (512kbps) so it will take several hours to transfer a short video clip for example. Even if that were acceptable, to make matters worse, you cannot switch to another app or lock the screen, which granted is an Apple limitation but combined with the apps ridiculous bandwidth limit it makes this version useless and basically nothing but an ad to the premium version. Oh and the app has a ton of annoying ads too, of course. I concur with previous reviewer that Apple should not allow this kind of deceitful practices on their App Store. And to the developers, if you’re confident in your app just make it a paid one and leave it at that. If it’s truly worth $2.99, customers will come and pay that. I, however, will not. Not after you wasted my time with this nonsense. You are directly losing potential customers due to your greed. ### 1/5 — HORRIBLE! *2019-12-07* I downloaded this app in hopes it’ll help with storage on the xbox. Doesn’t work and won’t open anything. The smb client in iOS is pretty wonky. It takes at least three tries to get connected and it won’t connect at all to my NAS. This app is solid. The smb connection is reliable and it connects to my NAS. It integrates with the Files App nicely. Plus you can create unlimited shared folders! Not to mention the smb server, which is awesome. All my shared folders show up on my PC.
