Designed to sell you listing packages and make money off of boosting ads rather than focusing on rehoming the pups. A lot of uneducated buyers that have too many expectations of baby animals and want cheap pups rather than doing the research to find the right breed(s) for them. ### 3/5 — Could use an update *2026-02-25* The app moves slow & doesn’t always update my saved puppies . MANY profiles not working to reserve a puppy once I find one I like . Minor issues make it frustrating to utilize the app ### 2/5 — Some people don’t need to be breeders *2024-09-06* I got my first dog Dakota from Lancaster puppies at a good price but she had fleas so I didn’t realize because of how much fur she has so that cost me extra at the groomers but the main thing that shouldn’t be allowed is telling a person that’s interested that they can see the dog a certain day then when you call all day to see what time you can see the dog they tell you they sold it the day you talked to them I could’ve had a Cane Corso Siberian Husky Mix for $250 he was black and white with blue eyes and I was told I could see him Friday I had everything ready for him and it was all for nothing…. So my thing is if you say that I can come and see him and then sell him the same day i talked to you is really messed up ### 3/5 — Not too fond of the new update *2023-11-07* I’ve never had an issue searching for a puppy on lancaster, but after the app updated earlier today every single time i click to look at a puppy then click back to keep scrolling it completely resets my search. It’s definitely extremely frustrating to deal with but otherwise the app is a great way to find your forever dog. ### 2/5 — App *2022-04-02, version 1.2.5* The app keeps kicking me out as soon as I try to open it. Thought it was my phone but it’s a consistent thing. It’s quite annoying. ### 4/5 — Found my buddy *2022-02-05, version 1.2.4* Found my buddy Daph on this site. The breeder was honest and clean. Good people. My doodle is great! ### 3/5 — Not all bad *2021-09-15* There are definitely backyard breeders on here as stated in some of the reviews. But there are also some great breeders on here. I got a st. bernard, bernese mountain dog and lab mix from here and her breeders were great. She and her parents were health tested, fully vaccinated, and dewormed. We even had the vet do her own health test to make sure they didn’t miss anything and she is free of all genetic diseases that embark tests for. Her mother was the family dog, her father was a stud from another breeder. The puppies were raised in their home in a very clean and spacious setup. They only breed her once a year, and the only dogs they have are the mother and one of her children from a previous litter. As opposed to my last dog who was a purebred golden who was akc registered. This breeder wasn’t on lancaster puppies. She came home with fleas, worms, and reeked of cigarets. She only lived to 6 because of numerous genetic diseases. The breeders had 20 different dogs who they bred 4 times a year. they were all kept outside in kennels all year round, because they couldn’t all fit in their trailer home. Next time anyone says that all mixed breeds are byb, i’ll have to assume their some purebred elitist. as long as you ask your breeder the right questions and visit them before buying, you will get a good healthy dog. this goes for purebred and mixed breeds. Shop smart and this app is great. buy the first dog you see without researching and suffer the consequences. ### 1/5 — YOU ARE NOT PUPPY MATCH *2021-08-22, version 1.13* Lancaster Puppies has stolen the name of a company for their app. PUPPY MATCH IS A REPUTABLE BREEDER. Lancaster Puppies is using a trademarked company name to promote their app. CHANGE THE NAME OF YOUR APP. ### 1/5 — Backyard breeders *2021-04-01* All the puppy’s and kittens from this app are backyard bred. No health testing done, they don’t do background checks on the people they sell too, they breed unhealthy dogs and they also breed mutts. Any dog that isn’t AKC registered (ie doodles) are mutts and should NOT be bred. They are a unpredictable and unhealthy breed. I purged a golden doodle from here when I was uneducated and it ended up having parvo and a intestinal parasite. We ended up putting him down. Also pretty sure a lot of these listings are scams as some of them tell you to pay with Bitcoin **Developer response:** Hello, we are sorry you had a bad experience with one the breeders listing on Lancaster Puppies. Thank you for the feedback. ### 4/5 — Dog *2021-01-04, version 1.1.2* I wish it could tell us how to put a dog up for sell ,but otherwise it’s a great app! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — app not working at all!! *2025-12-28* went into the app to look for a puppy, but first of all even if i put i’m searching for all breeds it says ZERO results. that’s so false! it WILL NOT let me login to my account nor create a new one. i was just about to recommend lancaster puppies to a friend but after fighting with the app for the last 10 minutes and not even being able to look at listings just as a guest i certainly will not be doing that. i’ve gotten a pup off of the lancaster puppies app before and im not sure whats happened to the app now but its unreal. ### 1/5 — WORST APP EVER *2024-06-26, version 2.0.10* This is the worst app. NOT AT ALL USERFRIENDLYY ### 1/5 — Glitch in the app *2024-03-04* The app has a critical issue that needs immediate attention. The search functionality is not functioning correctly. After conducting a search and reviewing the results, clicking on an item prevents users from returning to the search menu. Instead, they have to retype their keyword and conduct a new search. Listing a puppy is more complicated. ### 1/5 — The Old App user experience was better *2023-11-10* The new update has very bad user experience , it makes using the app annoying … especially with navigation purposes… example : say I input a specific breed and scroll to find a puppy I’m interested in , I click the puppy profile to view more info , when I click back button I would like to go to back to the window(scroll) location I left from … but it doesn’t do that , it takes me back to the top of the screen and now I have to scroll back down to where I left … so I’m interested in multiple puppies then I have to constantly go back and scroll which gets annoying, 2. Can someone please tell me what is the matter? ### 1/5 — BEWARE *2021-10-04* Amish dog Breeders that do not know what they are doing and will often kill their dogs that don’t sell like their livestock. Trust me do not buy a dog what I have seen I cannot un see. This website is terrible only if I would’ve known the truth behind mass breeding and false health test. Simply do not buy a dog from these breeders they will have health issues for the rest of their lives that are unpredictable. If the price is too good to be true it’s because it is don’t fall for it trust me save your time and money and go with a reliable breeder that knows what they’re doing and has good reviews! **Developer response:** Dylan, we are truly sorry you had a negative experience with one of our breeders. I could not risk the taking a chance on a rescue pup ( I think rescue is amazing and had a fantastic experience) so decided to Lancaster Puppies a chance , although I heard horrible stories of puppy milling, only a higher standard, over breeding.
