What's New in Lander App

2.1.6

July 22, 2026

New: open reddit.com links from Safari straight into Lander. Enable the "Open in Lander" extension once in Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions, and links you tap on the web land in the app. Also in this release: - Fixed: the first swipes after opening a subreddit sometimes did not register - Fixed: opening the app from a widget or link could land on Home instead of the right screen, and some links opened twice - Fixed: confirmation messages were invisible when Settings was opened from the Profile gear - Fixed: "Reset All Settings" no longer flips frame-rate and Translate settings away from their defaults - Tidied the Notifications settings screen

User reviews

Almost great

Would love to give this a good review, but there's a major bug I've encountered: when you search for a subreddit and click on it, the app crashes.

Fantastic app

It looks great, it runs smooth and best of all it doesn’t lock features behind a paywall. I will definitely be supporting this dev. One problem I have noticed though is that videos and gifs currently do not autoplay in the feed and when I click on a video it plays audio even though I have the setting for videos to be muted as default. Hopefully this is something the dev can look into.

Also, please give us the option to disable inbox replies to comments. I know we can turn off notifications and the inbox as a whole on the app but when I log into reddit on my PC my account is flooded with those red comment notifications saying someone has replied. Not a fan of those.

Edit: I’ve used this for about a week now and I cannot find anyway to submit feedback to the dev so I’ll do it here and hope that he sees it.
-Scrolling down from home to search brings up the keyboard so you can start typing straight away, but when you select search from the floating bar at the bottom it doesn’t. So you have to select the search bar before you start typing.
-when I search for a subreddit in the communities tab of search and I select it, the app will often just hard crash.
-The app can sometimes hang randomly. Like I’ll go to a sub and try to scroll down but the feed doesn’t move. It’s not till I go to another page like my profile then back to home does it allow me to start scrolling.
-having a way to have the app automatically open when you open reddit in Safari would be fantastic

Awesome app!

I’ve been using this app as a replacement for Narwhal.. which I’ve used forever.. and have been very impressed. The few bugs I’ve encountered have been fixed with quick app updates… so it’s actively being developed. If you’re looking for a replacement for the awful Reddit app, take this one out for a spin. It’s free and runs on donations.

Want to like it

I really want to like it, but it behaves oddly. For example, it’s difficult to tap on a post in a list without accidentally tapping on the OP’s name (which is also a link to their profile); pulling down to refresh actually invokes the search bar. The first is just annoying while the second attempts to rewrite years of muscle memory and a Reddit client just doesn’t carry enough clout for that.

Excellent app!

Everything is working well, lots of customisation possibilities. Best Reddit app I’ve used so far!
