## What is Lane C?

Lane C is the first speed-climbing analysis that runs entirely on your device — no account, no upload.

It turns a video of your run into a skeletal breakdown, phase splits, a speed curve and a share-ready card in seconds. And it logs the rest of the session — the reps that were never filmed.

Film handheld or from a tripod: Lane C locks onto the wall automatically, even with a moving camera and two climbers in frame. Filmed a race? Both lanes become runs from one clip.

EVERY RUN, BROKEN DOWN
• AI skeletal overlay of every move.
• Start / Middle / Finish splits and a smoothed speed curve, with the finish timed to the pad slap rather than the top-out.
• The official speed route rendered hold-for-hold, true to the real wall.

FILM IT WITHOUT A SECOND PAIR OF HANDS
• A countdown timer gives you time to get on the wall after you hit record.
• Or let Lane C sound the start signal and start and stop the recording itself.

LOG THE WHOLE SESSION AT THE WALL
• Session mode is a full-screen logger for a phone propped at the wall: one big button per attempt, a live count, a tally by range.
• Log a partial run the way you climbed it — start to hold 10, hold 10 to finish, anything between.
• On a pulley or in a weight vest? Record the assist, added or supported, with the kilos if you know them.
• A Live Activity keeps the count on your Lock Screen — log the next one without unlocking.
• Or log from Siri, a widget or Control Center, each reusing the range and assist you climbed last.

SESSIONS ADD THEMSELVES UP
• Attempts logged close together become a session automatically; you set the break length.
• Every session gets a card: attempts by range, metres climbed, clean rate, best time, errors.
• Open one for the whole day: which holds took the volume, where the falls clustered, every attempt in order.
• Partial reps finally count: a 1–10 time is compared only with other 1–10 times, so lower-wall work shows progress instead of polluting your PR.
• Training volume by day and week, and metres climbed against the four weeks before.

RACE ANY TWO RUNS
• Play two runs side by side: today against your PR, or you against a teammate.
• Sync by time to see who's ahead, or by height to compare technique hold-for-hold, with overlaid speed curves and a splits delta.

SEE WHERE YOU KEEP SLIPPING
• Tag the holds you came off on, and the wall smears between them.
• They build an errors-by-hold heatmap on the real speed wall, filtered by route and period.
• A clean flag keeps a sloppy-fast time from setting a false PR, and a competition flag keeps training and competition numbers apart.
• Personal bests, time trends and split history on one dashboard.

FOR ATHLETES AND FOR COACHES
• Tell Lane C once whether you climb or coach; your other devices follow via iCloud.
• Coaches get a named roster and a Session mode built for a group: a tile per climber on iPad and Mac, each with their own range, assist and tally.
• Someone not on the roster dropped in? Log them as a guest and assign the attempts later.
• A training view across the squad: who trained, how much, and who has gone quiet.
• Export a run card, Instagram sticker or clip in one tap.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• The full analysis runs on the Neural Engine of your device. No account, no upload.
• Optional iCloud sync keeps your runs in your private iCloud, visible to no one else.

WHAT'S FREE, WHAT'S PAID
• Free, no account, no time limit: three analyzed runs a week, the Logbook, Session mode, session stats, error tagging and sharing.
• Lane C Athlete: unlimited analyses, side-by-side comparison, both lanes from a race clip, capture assists and the progress dashboard.
• Lane C Coach: everything in Athlete, plus the named athlete roster and Family Sharing.
• Yearly plans start with a 14-day free trial

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-03

- More reliable wall detection on handheld and moving-camera videos. The app now reads the hold numbers on the wall to lock onto the right lane, and stays on the lane your climber is actually on.
- Fixed cases where the wall overlay jumped to the neighbouring lane mid-run.
- Improved climber detection, especially in difficult lighting and with shadows.
- Results are now consistent when you re-analyse the same video.
- Smaller fixes and performance improvements.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-26

Attempt logging. Most of a speed session never gets filmed — this release logs the rest of it.

Session mode: prop the phone at the foot of the wall and hit one big button per attempt. A live count, a tally by range, metres climbed and the best time in the cohort you're actually working. A Live Activity keeps it on the Lock Screen so you can log the next rep without unlocking, and Siri, widgets and Control Center all write to the same place.

Attempts now carry the part of the wall you climbed — start to hold 10, hold 10 to finish, anything between — and the assist you used, added or supported, in kilos. Partial reps finally count: a 1–10 time is compared only with other 1–10 times, so lower-wall volume shows progress instead of polluting your PR.

Sessions build themselves. Attempts logged close together group automatically into a session with its own card: attempts by range, metres, clean rate, best, errors. Open one for the whole day, including which holds took the volume.

A new Logbook tab holds all of it, and Progress gains training volume by day and week.

Coaches get a Session mode built for a group: a tile per athlete on iPad and Mac, each with their own range, assist and tally, keys 1–9 to log, and guests for whoever dropped in. Plus a training view across the squad — who trained, how much, and who has gone quiet.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-08-21

Improved climb tracking: the skeleton now follows you further up the wall on distant or low-resolution recordings, stays on the right athlete when two lanes are racing, and no longer draws joints it isn't confident about. Height and speed charts end cleanly at the top. Re-analyze older runs to apply the improvements.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-18

• Hold numbers on the speed curve, tap one to jump to that grab.
• The speed chart now gets two thirds of the graph view.
• Long-press the app icon to Record or Log Attempt.
• Fixed a VS comparison stuck at the finish after scrubbing.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-05

No release notes.
