As a teacher and student of the Arabic language, this platform is the easiest way to access the Lanes Lexicon, the most thorough Arabic English dictionary out there.  This easily tops other dictionaries out there and is even more thorough than Hans Wehr; and now absolves the student the need for internet access.  The Arabic almanac website still is very useful since it has access to the best of Arabic dictionaries at the touch of a button.  May Allah reward those who have been part of this endeavor to make this sacred language accessible.

Although this looks like a pdf upload the fact is this is the best Arabic to English dictionary ever written and it’s available for free on the iOS platform which has helped immensely as I know any place I can open the application to check a word meaning. 
Works really well when you type in the root letters in the search field with the response within 1-2 seconds maximum.

This colossal collection has now been put into an application for easy reference. For anyone serious about Arabic reading or translation, do yourself a favour and download all four dictionary applications produced by Omar Jahangir: Lane's, Wehr's, Penrice's and Steingass. They will make your referencing infinitely easier. Many thanks to Omar and everyone else involved, not forgetting Uwais.
