## What is LaneTab Venue?

LaneTab Venue is the staff app for LaneTab, the QR-code ordering system built for bowling alleys and family entertainment centers.

Guests scan the code at their lane or table, order, and pay from their own phone. This app is what your counter runs: orders arrive the moment they are paid for, tickets print to the kitchen and the bar, and the night closes out with the numbers already added up.

WHAT THE NIGHT MADE
- Financials and Insights for any period the web console offers, including a custom range for a single day or a group of days
- Gross sales, refunds, tax, tips and total collected, read straight from the ledger
- A transaction register you can open one order at a time
- Shifts and pooled tips, per person

WHO CAN SIGN IN
- A PIN for each person, by name, so the order history says who did it rather than "staff"
- Choose exactly what each person sees - Kitchen, Bar, Front desk, or more than one at once - without handing over full access
- Revoke a sign-in on its own: they stay on the roster, keep their place in tip payouts, and can still be assigned restroom checks
- Add someone, fix a name, and hand out or take back access from the floor, without opening a laptop

A SCREEN FOR EACH JOB
- Give every screen its own PIN: Kitchen, Bar, Front desk, each showing only the work it is for
- A station screen is a bump bar - the tickets, full screen, nothing to navigate
- The takings, settings and menu editor are not on a station screen at all
- A front desk screen runs guest help, the waitlist and restroom checks on one screen, switched with a tap
- A bar screen can show only the drinks that need an ID check
- Name your own stations, so a snack bar does not have to be called kitchen or bar

THE FRONT DESK
- A waitlist that texts guests: quote a wait, tell them their lane is ready, and seat them
- Every party shows when they arrived, when they were texted and when they were seated, so two parties with the same name are never confused
- Seat or no-show by mistake and put them back with one tap, without retyping them or costing them their place
- Guest help and the waitlist sit side by side, and a new request pulls the screen back to it
- Restroom checks on the same screen, so the round that is due is where the host already is

RUN THE FLOOR
- Live board of every open order, oldest first, with one tap to move it from received to preparing to on its way
- Overdue orders escalate on screen so nothing sits forgotten at the end of a busy rush
- Push alerts the moment an order or a guest request lands, even when the app is in the background
- Guest assistance requests and staff replies, so a lane can ask for help without walking to the counter

PRINT AND ROUTE
- Star Bluetooth receipt printing at the counter, with reprint and test print
- Separate kitchen and bar station printers over the network, so each station gets only its own items
- Auto-print new orders as they arrive

TAKE MONEY
- Ring up a counter sale: cash, card, Tap to Pay on iPhone, or comp
- Bar tabs with running totals, card holds, settle and void
- Refunds, partial refunds and comps, all recorded

KNOW WHERE YOU STAND
- Financials: today's takings, every transaction to the second, taxes, and the tip pool
- Shifts and pooled tip payouts per member of staff
- Insights: sales per spot-hour, reorder rate, response times, and which lanes generate the most requests
- Inventory: stock on hand, restock and reorder reports, recipes and suppliers

KEEP THE PLACE RUNNING
- Sanitation: restroom checks logged with what was due, what was done, who cleared it and when. The record a health inspector asks for.
- Displays: your wall screens, their signal and uptime, and whether they are still responding
- Lane maintenance trends, so recurring mechanical faults on one lane surface before they cost you the lane

LaneTab Venue requires a LaneTab venue account. Venue accounts are created by LaneTab, so there is no sign-up in the app.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.5 — 2026-08-30

The front desk now runs on one screen.

• Guest help, the waitlist and restroom checks side by side, switched with a tap. A new request pulls the screen back to it, so nothing waits behind another job.
• Restroom checks are reachable from a front desk sign-in for the first time.
• Every party on the waitlist shows when they arrived, when they were texted, and when they were seated or marked a no-show — so you can tell two similar parties apart before texting one of them.
• Mark a no-show by mistake and it is now the first party you can put back, not the last.
• Choose the sound your alerts make — Classic, Bell, Chime, Klaxon or Marimba — and hear it across a busy room.
• Adding a party is quicker: a number keypad for the phone, arrows for the quoted wait, and clearer contrast throughout.

### 1.6.4 — 2026-08-29

• Multi-venue owner view — owners sign in with their email and PIN to see a live, read-only view of every venue they own: orders, guest requests, waitlist, sales and reports, all from one login.
• Owners can now change their own PIN, right in the app or at lanetab.com/owner.
• Tap Update the moment a new version is available.

### 1.6.3 — 2026-08-27

The money screens, and a pause button that actually pauses.

PAUSE ORDERING - fixed. The switch could slide straight back: it sat below a seven-day hours editor with a different section's Save button right above it, and saving any part of Settings quietly discarded edits you had not saved elsewhere. Stopping orders is an emergency control, so it is now the first thing on the Settings screen and takes effect the moment you flip it. No Save button to find.

FINANCIALS AND INSIGHTS - every period the web console has, on the phone:
- Today, Yesterday, This and Last week, This and Last month, This and Last quarter, This and Last year, Last 7 / 30 / 90 days
- A custom range for one specific day, or any group of days
- Fixed: "This week" and "This month" were showing today's takings under the wrong label. Your figures were always recorded correctly - only the screen was answering for the wrong period.
- Insights now says "Total collected (incl. tax and tips)" instead of "Gross F&B", so it matches the Financials screen
- Figures can no longer linger from a previous period while a new one loads

Also: saving one section of Settings no longer discards what you typed in another.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-08-20

Give every screen its own PIN, and it shows only that job.

Until now one PIN opened everything, so the tablet at the pass had the till, the menu and the prices on it. Now you can create a view per screen - Kitchen, Bar, Front desk - each with its own PIN, and each screen shows only the work it is for. The takings, settings and menu editor are not on it at all.

A station screen becomes a bump bar: the tickets, full screen, and nothing to navigate. It is what a wall-mounted kitchen display should be, on a tablet you already own.

Also in this release:
- Front desk views open on the help queue - lane requests and restroom reports, with reply and resolve right there
- A bar view can show only the drinks that need an ID check, for venues where everything is made in one place
- Name your own stations, so a snack bar is not forced to be "kitchen" or "bar"
- Guest requests now read on staff screens exactly as the guest chose them
- Clearer sign-in when a venue code is mistyped
- On Apple Watch, an order that was refunded or cancelled no longer stays in the pending count, and no longer offers a Delivered button

### 1.5.0 — 2026-08-12

Your app now tells you when it is out of date. Until this release nothing did: the App Store updates quietly in the background, or waits behind a badge, so a counter could sit on a months-old version and never know. From now on you get a notice when a newer version is out, and a clear message if a build is too old to keep working.

Also in this release:
- Sanitation: the restroom check log, on the staff side where an inspector can actually be shown it
- Financials: takings, every transaction, taxes and the tip pool without leaving the floor
- Display history: outages, restarts and Wi-Fi for your wall screens over hours or weeks
- Shifts and pooled tip payouts per member of staff
