### 4/5 — Good app has even more potential

*2026-08-02*

I like being able to track the information, but I wish there was a few improvements. A notes section so you can keep track of things you saw as you practice. And a way to not during practice you made an adjustment, feet position or hand or aim point. Just note that they are different. And then most importantly a way to export the data to excel to I can dig and find more insights

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! We’re planning to add notes for sessions and shots, and also a new targeting system. CSV data exports are also on our roadmap!

### 4/5 — Already Great

*2026-04-18*

The app is great. As someone who has bowled for a short while casually and is now starting to take it more seriously, the fact that I can be provided some actual numerical stats along side video is extremely useful. Being able to look at my good shots as a baseline and to then see the difference in a shot that I *thought* was good but didn't quite do what I expected has helped me improve quite a bit in the few times I've already used it.

Gave 4/5 stars because I have 2 suggestions that would make this app absolutely incredible. First is that the lane detection can be finicky and doesn't try to automatically re-detect the lane. My tripod wasn't tall enough to sit on the ground so I had it on the table and the waiter placing a water on the table caused it to shake just enough that it lost the lane and I missed a few shots (including one where the 5 pin somehow hit the 8 then spun onto where the 4 was without falling). The phone slightly shaking and losing the lane by itself is fine, but when i selected the lane finder the lane was still perfectly within the view and i just had to press the button again. It would be great if there was an option we could enable where it would automatically try to find the lane again if possible.

The other suggestion would be if we could have the app record constantly when having it track every shot and we could have a button to save the last minute or so of footage in case the shot wasn't tracked. There were a few times when that happened to me, either because I lined up all the way to the gutter to get a ton of hook or because I was slightly off balance on release and stepped to the side and blocked the shot for a second. Being able to see as much of those shots as possible from a video would still be helpful even if it doesn't show stats for the throw.

**Developer response:** Thanks! Glad LaneTrax’s been useful for you.

Also, v2 is coming soon and it automatically zooms into the lane and corrects small misalignments on its own, so this should help a lot with the tracking issues you mentioned!

### 4/5 — Rev rate seems off

*2026-01-05*

Not sure when the camera starts to track rev rate. But, I feel it needs to happen earlier in the release. I have a feeling it’s doing it down lane closer to 30’ so by that time the ball is already starting to slow down. I’ve used SPECTO many times and plan to run this and SPECTO at the same time just to see.

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for leaving a review. Rev rate is still very much a work in progress, but we currently measure it during the first one second of the shot. Depending on your ball speed, that can correspond to roughly the first 20–50% of the ball’s travel downlane.

If you want a baseline to validate accuracy, the best approach is to review your camera feed frame-by-frame and count rotations over a known time window. Specto doesn’t directly measure rev rate; it estimates it using an equation based on other tracked metrics like hook boards.

### 4/5 — Good Start

*2025-09-25*

For the price, this is a great app. These are the stats I love. There are definitely things that could improve it though.

UI: the lane graph, while close to a true ratio of width to length needs to be wider to be useful for seeing you ball motion. I suggest removing one of the 2 columns of stats, and moving stats related to boards, such as launch board, arrows, break point and entry as labeled dots along the graph.

Modes: I recommend a ‘team’ mode or similar where you can track others when practicing or in league, so they can join in the fun of seeing their stats, without adding to MY stats.
Also, shots should be removable for obvious misreads by the app.

Scoring? Not sure if this beyond what the tech can do, but why not track scores too?

**Developer response:** Really appreciate you taking the time to write all this out, and awesome to hear you’re liking LaneTrax so far and finding the stats useful! On the lane graph, that’s a solid suggestion. If you send it in through the in-app chat, we can log it on our end. For deleting shots, you can already do that by pressing and holding the info bar above the numbers during a session. And the “team mode” you mentioned is pretty much exactly what we’re building into our upcoming Coach Tier, which will let you track other bowlers without it mixing into your own stats. As for scoring, as much as I wish, that will never be a feature in the app. The way the camera is setup can’t tell the difference between sleeper pins like the 4 and 8, so it wouldn’t be reliable.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2025-09-01, version 1.0.5*

Really amazing statistics! I love it. Initial set up can be tricky. Highly recommend

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-07-29*

Must have for serious bowlers and coaches, especially useful if you don’t have access to specto

**Developer response:** Thanks! Couldn't have worded it better.

### 3/5 — Something’s need to be fixed or updated for someone to really buy it

*2025-07-24*

I wouldn’t mind buying the actual subscription if it really got my Rev rate right. I wish it could get Rev Rate right but everything else is really good but still waiting on that update. Pls fix this issue please 😭

**Developer response:** Try out our new update (v1.0.5) — we improved the rev rate tracking. Also, make sure the ball you are using is high contrast. If it's not, then you should put a piece of tape on it, so LaneTrax can count the revolutions the ball makes.

### 5/5 — Terrible!

*2025-07-23*

Why is it so expensive!?!? Like people trying to make a living? Phfff. (I rated this 5 stars because I’m kidding I love the app)

**Developer response:** Ha! Caught me off guard with this one, but glad you're loving it!

### 5/5 — LOVE IT!

*2025-07-20, version 1.0.4*

I absolutely love the concept of this app! It’s so cool! The app works well! The devs are awesome!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Trash

*2025-12-21, version 1.1.9*

Doesn’t detect lane even when Kane is clearly visible and entirely in the frame

### 1/5 — Never works

*2025-10-05*

Tried the sample and was great then after i paid it never detected the lanes. Very frustrating and difficult to use. Want a refund this is garbage!

**Developer response:** I’m sorry to hear about the frustration. If you send us a message directly through the app, we can work with you to get a refund processed and also help troubleshoot the lane detection so it runs smoothly for you. We want to make sure you have the experience you were expecting.

### 1/5 — Cost

*2025-09-28, version 1.0.6*

Wish it would say how much it is for subscription. Because of that, I can’t risk it. Could be$.99 a month. Could be $500 a month. Very sketchy 🤦‍♂️

### 1/5 — Can’t connect my USBC info

*2025-09-19*

Downloaded the app and going through setup. When it asks me if I’m a USBC member, I click ‘yes’ and fill in my name and click ‘search’… and nothing. Says ‘invalid server response’. Haven’t been able to use the app yet.

**Developer response:** USBC's severs have been unreliable to say the least, so we've temporarily disabled integration in v1.0.6, while we work on a fix.

### 2/5 — Useful, but Tired of Subscriptions

*2026-07-11*

A useful practice aid but there needs to be a one time purchase option. Stats are fairly accurate with a stable tripod but the numbers don’t always align with the video replay. The replay has been the most useful part of this, allowing me to quickly review my shot. Such a cool app and the dev has been making a lot of improvements. However, I am just sick and tired of everything being a subscription. I see no good reason why this couldn’t be a one time purchase with fully local data storage. I don’t need or want my sessions to be stored on a cloud server. Got some use out of it for a few months but I’m out unless the payment model changes.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! The subscription helps us support continued development and keep improving LaneTrax. We understand the frustration and appreciate you giving the app a try.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t detect lane

*2026-02-04*

Watched your setup video, app does not work as advertised. Multiple angles and tripod locations were attempted without success. At least I now have a tripod. App needs some work

**Developer response:** Hey, sorry the app wasn't reading your lane. If you tap "Contact Support" in the app, I’ll be able to look through the data from the session to help you get it sorted out.

### 2/5 — Awesome

*2025-11-07, version 1.1.5*

Great app! Love the info it gives you so you can improve your game.

### 3/5 — Account Login

*2025-09-30, version 1.0.6*

Is it possible to NOT use only Apple ID to login or use the app?

### 3/5 — Meh

*2025-08-05*

Has been a pain to get it to detect the lane/foul line. Says not big enough. Manual or auto detect doesn’t matter still a pain to get going. Then disconnected every other frame. Stats seem okay. Not sure why it’s got such a high monthly cost. I can’t see going through this hassle every time when using it. And really how often gonna be checking the stats when bowling.

**Developer response:** Sorry to hear you had issues with the lane detection. Our goal is to make the setup process as seamless and simple as possible. If you shot us a message in the app, we can help get this figured out.

### 3/5 — Mixed results

*2025-07-28*

I bought this app. It a little tricky to get up and running. Hopefully it get easier to use with future updates. Good start.

**Developer response:** Stay tuned for future updates — we're always working on making the lane detection as stream lined as possible, but glad to hear you were able to get everything set up!

*2026-06-27*

It’s a little hard to set up, but once I got it set up, it seemed to record all my shots accurately

**Developer response:** Thanks! We're trying to make the setup process as streamlined as possible.

### 5/5 — The best app for bowling by far

*2026-06-24, version 2.0.0*

Amazing!!!

### 5/5 — A Breakthrough

*2026-06-11*

Good app overall, I have seen and learned on what to improve with my bowling and where to throw with my current arsenal of bowling balls.

**Developer response:** Thanks! And soon, LaneTrax will be able to track what ball you're throwing, so yo'll be able to make data driven decisions based on each of your balls!

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-05-31*

This is a great app very helpful must have

**Developer response:** Thanks!

### 5/5 — Hard alignment and it’s touchy

*2025-12-02*

Maybe get access to sensitive settings

**Developer response:** Hey, sorry the alignment’s been touchy; that usually happens when the phone is slightly out of position or the tripod isn’t completely stable. If you hit “Contact Support” in the app, I can help dial it in.

### 5/5 — Real data

*2025-10-08*

This app completely took the guess work out of evaluating shots. With the information this app provides I can now work on many things and truly track progress. Best money you will ever spend fora higher average. Skip the new shinny ball and invest in your form.

**Developer response:** Thanks!

### 5/5 — Game Changer

*2025-10-06*

This app is a game changer and is only getting better!

**Developer response:** Thanks! And we’ve got even more coming soon. 🤐

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2025-10-01*

Works much better than I had anticipated and it’s way more accurate than I thought it would be. We put it through some test and it seems to be holding up very well. This is a must have Bowling app.

**Developer response:** Thanks! It means a lot to us that you consider it a must-have app. If you ever have ideas for new features or improvements, feel free to reach out in the app, we’d love to hear from you!

### 5/5 — Holy Cannoli Is This App Good

*2025-08-13*

Hear ye, hear ye. LaneTrax be hittin’ like a +10 fire enchantment on a Friday night and I hope all of my brethren feel that. Verily, the interface be smoother than silk robes from the King’s own tailor, and the stats doth bless mine eyes like gold coins in thine purse. When I doth roll upon thine lanes, I be strikin’ forth with might most righteous — no cap, my liege. If thou seeketh to elevate thy game and smite thine pins with divine precision, downloadeth LaneTrax posthaste. Truly, it’s goated in the realm

**Developer response:** Hark, noble Sir Strike-A-Lot, we art honored by thy praise, and may thy strikes be many, thy splits be few.
