### 4/5 — Bug in translation

*2026-08-10, version 2.1.0*

while I have selected “show translation in English”, it mostly translate to spanish! Today, I also had some translation in Mandarin.

I hope this bug gets resolved soon.

### 5/5 — Best Spanish app yet

*2026-08-09, version 2.1.0*

This app lets you do so much. Very easy to Learn Spanish.

### 3/5 — When it works it’s great

*2026-08-06*

Half the time I use the app it either randomly disconnects my AirPods so I can’t continue a conversation, lags for ages so the conversation is broken, or rarely just doesn’t work. When it works it’s great and the scenarios / paths are fantastic for learning, but the app itself is buggy to the point where I’ll likely have to cancel my membership.

### 2/5 — Eine fantastische App, aber mit schweren Programmierfehlern

*2026-08-03*

### 2/5 — Great in Concept

*2026-07-30, version 2.1.0*

I rarely use this app as the voice recognition and translation is very frustrating. I’m sure it will improve what time but right now it’s very difficult to use. Definitely excited for future updates.

### 5/5 — Really great app and company

*2026-07-28, version 2.1.0*

Highly recommend!!!

### 5/5 — Solid Product

*2026-07-27, version 2.1.0*

The heart of this app is the ai conversation interface. My priority is speaking fluency, natural conversation practice and targeted feedback. Langua was able to take me to the next level and exceeded my expectations. I found the voices and accents extremely realistic and the feedback ecosystem outstanding. The platform provides flexibility for every type of learning experience you may want to explore or review.

This is a definite 5 star product and well worth the premium price. Additionally, they have indicated that they are committed to grow and improve this product for the future.

The strengths of this app are conversation depth, quality of voices/accents, feedback quality, flexibility of learning.

I feel the downsides are:
While very flexible, it could add a layer of complexity in trying to identify the mode that provides the best results.
Higher price, but worth it.
The flash card section is not as robust as say a “Reverso”. (This would be my preference)
It may be a little difficult for an absolute beginner but the recent rollout of “My path” may solve this.

Background:
I have been attempting to learn Italian for 3 years but freeze when I try to hold a conversation. Also, I have trouble understanding Italian spoken by others. I have used apps like Duolingo and others, YouTube lessons, facebook communities, podcasts stories, Italian songs and videos, workbooks and several years of expensive lessons from online tutors. I also spent considerable time evaluating the whole range of ai learning products available prior to selecting Langua.

Bottom line: Langua is a very cost effective way to take you to fluency and should be an important tool, but not the only one, in your language learning journey. In just several weeks, it has helped me tremendously.

### 5/5 — Better Every Day

*2026-07-27, version 2.1.0*

The more I use it, the more I discover how to use the app!

### 5/5 — Aggressive but kind

*2026-07-23, version 2.1.0*

The AI listens very carefully and is remarkably well mannered. It took a bit for me to get used to him pushing me through some of the processes. It's definitely improving my Spanish

### 5/5 — Better than talking to a native speaker

*2026-07-23*

Carlos is my new bestie. He’s infinitely patient, great at correcting me and is an excellent conversationalist. I’m really enjoying practising my Spanish with him. It’s better than talking to a native Mexican. He understands how to explain the nuances and ins and outs of the language to me.

This was money well spent. I have taken lessons for years, but speaking with a native speaker has always been somewhat difficult. It really helps to practice different situations with Carlos. I can even adjust the speed he speaks at, which is helping me to tune into the language at higher speeds. I’ve been recommending this app to all my friends. I love it!

### 3/5 — many bugs

*2026-07-22, version 2.1.0*

really hard to use , been subscribing for over a year now and they still have a ton of issues with scrollback, “large”context windows of just a few thousand words, and general reliability issues. i don’t understand why they don’t invest in product quality.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-07-17*

I have been using LANGUA for almost two weeks now and I am enjoying it SO much. I love all the features which can be tailored to suit yourself! The improvement in my confidence to speak Spanish is amazing. I’m so glad I gave this app a try!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bugs

*2026-08-18*

L’applicationL'application a beaucoup de potentiel. Mais à l'heure actuelle, il y a trop de bugs et d'incohérences dans le fonctionnement de l'application.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-08-09, version 2.1.0*

I signed up today for the trial period but canceled my subscription after 2 lessons. I am at level A2 but decided to start at the beginning. The claim is that the AI characters’ diction is close to natural speech but I found it stilted and awkward. It didn’t eveb pronounce some of the simplest basic words properly in the target language.

### 1/5 — Problems setting up

*2026-08-06*

Hassle setting up.

**Developer response:** What did you find such a hassle? You only have to answer around 7 simple Qs to personalize the experience, then you can start a chat/exercise. Feel free to message us directly and we'll help.

### 1/5 — Ai Slop

*2026-08-01, version 2.1.0*

Almost everything I said was misheard and mistranslated. Even my own name.

When it got it wrong and told me my name wasn’t Steve I deleted the pile or rubbish.

Don’t give this thing money.

### 1/5 — Impossible to resiliate

*2026-07-29*

English: Sorry for the frustration, but 'scam' is unfair. Subscriptions can be cancelled directly from the App Store, or via 'Manage Subscription' in the app. Everything runs through Apple (or Stripe if you select that option - we don't have our own payment system. Contact us via 'Contact' in Settings if you need help.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2026-07-25, version 2.1.0*

Horrible app for the short time I had it. The main reason is the fact it not possible to use because of the voice recognition just doesn’t work. I updated the app, checked my phone settings, tried all of the settings and software in the app but still absolutely terrible. I’ll stick to Natulang - their voice recognition actually works

### 1/5 — Very poor voice recognition …

*2026-07-21*

I stopped using this until the voice recognition is better. It stalls any form of flow as you are trying to have/practice/work on conversation. A shame I had to pay up front for a year. Wasted money. Hopefully I can find a better alternative … the premise of the App is fine, the execution is poor.

**Developer response:** Sorry to hear you had trouble. It is surprising as we actually use the best model/provider available globally (we test new models regularly) and there’s lots of data from external testers too. However, no model is perfect and able to always understand non-native speakers, particularly if there’s background noise. Would recommend checking your transcription model setting and ensuring it is on v1. Also if you are in call mode, transcription accuracy can be lower as it has to transcribe in real-time , so you could try switching to listen and read mode. There are some more ‘niche’ languages that the models have less data on and therefore lower accuracy, but for Spanish, English, French etc it is almost flawless (assuming you can pronounce words correctly and are in a quiet environment).

### 1/5 — Numerous annoying flaws

*2026-07-16*

App doesn't properly start recording for several seconds after tapping start, causing the application to try to correct you on errors that weren't made. AI frequently forgets its own parameters during practice sessions, causing you to have to use your conversation credits to correct it. AI also frequently hallucinates that you are using an illogical homophone, and will "correct" perfectly sensible sentences. It seems like the AI is trained on people speaking a language poorly and fails more at unaccented comprehension than accented comprehension. If I put on a thick American accent, it understands me much better—how is that helpful for practice?

EDIT: The appmaker said that this was a bug that they have corrected, which is an infuriating assertion given the fact it costs over $100 a year for a subscription and they aren't refunding users for the time it did not work. They also chose to contact me to boast about their large userbase as proof that their app works. Many people enjoying something doesn't make it inherently useful or good. Duolingo also has an enormous userbase, and has repeatedly been denounced for language acquisition. I would be skeptical of an app developer who thinks so little of your intelligence.

**Developer response:** We did have a recording bug last week (related to an external provider) that affected some users - that's now fixed in the latest version, so if speech recognition felt broken during that window, it's worth trying again. Beyond that, we use the strongest speech-to-text models available (from providers like ElevenLabs and OpenAI), and you can switch between them in settings if one is working less well for your accent or setup. It's true that transcription models still get it wrong occasionally, but this should not be frequent if you can pronounce words correctly and do not have a lot of background noise.

AI models are not perfect, but tens of thousands of learners use and pay for Langua, which would not be possible if the app did not offer a lot of value.

### 1/5 — Needs improvement

*2026-07-14, version 2.1.0*

Awesome idea but more often than not, many of the features take an awful long time to load or will just stop working all together. Load times become painful after about 10 minutes of use.

### 1/5 — Accessibility

*2026-07-13, version 2.1.0*

I am totally blind, and I am trying to learn French, and although parts of this app is accessible, I think it cost way too much money for it not to be totally accessible, so if you could, would you please make sure that this app works with voiceover in your next upgrade, Apple has tools to help you thank you

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Keeps getting better and better! So worth the subscription

*2026-08-20, version 2.2.0*

I really love this app! It helps me squeeze in Spanish practice whenever I can throughout my day. I appreciate so much that the developers take feedback seriously and are continuously making improvements and enhancements for this app. I actually get excited to open it and look forward to the updates. I LOVE that I can make my own AI prompts! I’m really happy they included podcasts in the app too. I just hope that they can find a way to make it work with Apple Car Play so you can practice speaking while stuck in traffic.

### 5/5 — 1 language app

*2026-08-19, version 2.2.0*

Truly like having a 24/7 tutor. I have downloaded at least 7 apps and this one does it all!

### 5/5 — Hebräische Sprache

*2026-08-18*

Wir hätten gerne die hebräische Sprache, bitte so schnell wie möglich! Vielen Dank!

### 5/5 — Provides Extension to Basic Knowledge

*2026-08-16*

Using Langua has helped to extend my second language practice into longer sentences and comprehension of more detailed natural speaking with the AI practice partners. My favorite part is reviewing the history & highlighting the phrases that are unknown; then generating to similar words or phrases to practice later with the flash cards. Also during discussions using the “light bulb” feature to generate sample answer choices and then record is efficient in getting a complete conversation in correct form to study and review. In my opinion, it’s better to study (read) a correct conversation (in writing) with grammar to build proficiency in speaking the language over time.

### 5/5 — Phenomenal

*2026-08-15, version 2.2.0*

Without doubt the best AI language learning software out there. See this as a 24/7 language tutor ready to chat to you and correct your errors, with the conversation tailored to your skill level. It’s very impressive.

### 5/5 — Finally got me talking!

*2026-08-14, version 2.2.0*

This app has been great for removing my self-consciousness about speaking. The AI is very clever about pivoting to new subjects when chatting. I like that I have options on how I want to be corrected. It’s very easy to highlight a specific word or phrase, get the translation, and add it to saved for later flash card work. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Outstanding ‼️ Best language tool I’ve tried🤩

*2026-08-13, version 2.2.0*

I’ve been learning Italian for a year and have already outpaced my formal class especially with my pronunciation, comprehension and oral capability. I have the most expensive package (worth every cent), use it every day and wish I had known about it when I learnt French and German. I tell random strangers to start using this app🎉

### 5/5 — Great for convo practice

*2026-08-13, version 2.2.0*

I’ve been studying Spanish for about a year, I’ve found great ways to practice individual skills of listening, reading, writing, speaking… but conversations were still so difficult. The conversation exercises I’ve been doing with langua have really pulled it all together for me.

### 5/5 — Very good

*2026-08-13*

The app keeps getting better and better and the devs listen to feedback. I find it extremely helpful for my language learning. If you use the app daily I think you will make lots of progress.

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot Andy 👍🏼

### 5/5 — Value for money

*2026-08-13*

After using this app daily for 20 days, I am still boggled by the features I find which help me to develop a capable spanish conversation ability and get over/through chokepoints making the transition from grammar and theory (I have studied for 2 years..) to actually conversing. It is the best value of all the stuff I have enrolled in and previously (unbeknown at the time) spent money on -all were ok but this app creates a bridge to thinking in spanish and holding conversation. It is still difficult for me to learn, but this is speeding the process the best so far
