At the moment I’m switching between pingo and google while using. Great app though, the flashcards are very helpful, too. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t have Tagalog *2026-08-24, version 5.2.2* I am trying to learn Tagalog and I saw an ad for this app in TikTok it seemed good and what would help me learn but it has so many languages but no Tagalog (Filipino) add Tagalog!!!!!!!’ ### 2/5 — No grammar *2026-08-24, version 5.2.2* It really wants you to focus on memorizing random sounds than actual grammar. It will tell you to say “where is the bakery” even before telling you you’re saying the word bakery, and it also really doesn’t want to teach conjugation or declination at all. It will continually try to get you back into the loop of asking where is the bakery instead of the most basic grammatical “I am, she is, they are”. It also struggles to hear me speak, a lot of times it’ll prompt me to speak and immediately within a half second say “that’s not quite [AI filler content nonsense]” and I’m like I didn’t say anything yet. ### 2/5 — Good idea but needs a lot of work *2026-08-20, version 5.2.0* I really like Pingo because it teaches me in real time to learn new phrases and expressions an offers me a variety of different forms of practising conversation. However, as it’s an AI app lessons can be a difficult so I will say something clearly and it will say it’s wrong or it will cut me off as I’m speaking or suddenly decides talking in the language. I’m trying to learn without actually understanding what they saying. It’s all AI based and when I was speaking back to my “teacher” the app wouldn’t pick up that I was saying the correct thing and kept marking me as wrong which then in turn, makes the avatar kind of nasty to you. A waste of time truly. There also wasn’t a build up to learning and they immediately put me with a “teacher” who basically only spoke in the language I intended to learn. I barely understood anything and there wasn’t much learning just repeating phrases which like I said, the app couldn’t track properly. It needs a lot of work, I’d rather use duolingo. ### 2/5 — Décevant *2026-08-15* J’ai été obligé de surprimmer cette application. L’IA ne sait pas s’adapter et n’a pas tenu compte de mon niveau. THIS APP IS A SCAM AND WILL STEAL 100 bucks from you! ### 1/5 — The customer service is awful *2026-08-20, version 5.2.0* I was trying the free trial out to see if I would like this app, but was wary because the cost was kinda high. I cancelled my subscription, but I was still charged. They use a payment method called link.com and I was unable to log in to submit for a refund. I emailed link.com and the advised me that I would need to contact the product(Pingo) for a refund because my account was deactivated. When I reached back to Pingo they said I would need to go through Link.com again. This runaround has been unbelievably frustrating and is causing me financial issues. I was actually having fun and remembering the words this was one of the first language learning apps that I actually had fun with and actually learn learned something from and the translations are pretty accurate even for some languages like Russian but I truly think this is an amazing language learning app I know I basically just said the same thing over and over again, but I truly mean it ### 5/5 — She is so mean to me *2026-08-14, version 5.2.0* She called me useless and said I didn’t have a brain and that I was so worse at Spanish😭 ### 5/5 — Great App *2026-08-12, version 5.1.4* I really like this app. This is my 3rd year of learning español. First year was Duolingo. Then 2nd year Pimsler. I really like this because unlike the other 2 apps if I don’t understand something fully. I can stop it mid sentence and question it. I can ask it any question and I can role play any situation I like. It’s brilliant. Sometimes the audio goes a bit robotic at times but I just tell it to repeat or I can follow the transcript. Definitely the best thing I’ve used. It’s like having your own personal tutor that you can use whenever and wherever! I can tell it to speak to me only in English for this part but I have picked up on so many useful phrases just by it talking to me in Español. I wonder if it will stay as cheap as it was.
