Bug report button crashes the app ### 1/5 — This is a completely unnecessary app. Even YouTube videos have translations. It's not worth paying a *2025-11-06* It is very unnecessary expensive. The first user should use the pro version for free for the first 15-20 days and then decide to buy the paid version. 10$ is very unnecessary. **Developer response:** It looks like you didn’t really explore the app. You can use it for free, and you can also try all Pro features during the free trial. So I’m not sure what the actual problem is here — everything you mentioned already exists. ### 1/5 — Copycat *2025-10-23* This app is a clear copy of another existing project. The whole concept, wording, and design were taken from a previously released language learning app that teaches through movie clips and subtitles. It’s disappointing to see someone reuse another developer’s idea instead of building something original. There’s nothing innovative or unique here, just a copy of someone else’s hard work. **Developer response:** I’m an independent developer and I’ve built this app completely from scratch - design, code, and concept. It’s not a copy of any existing app. Of course, there are many language-learning apps that use videos or subtitles - just like many music or fitness apps share similar ideas - but every product is implemented differently. I feel they stole the name. You get ten minutes a day free with subtitles but you may as well just use youtube. It freezes. **Developer response:** Hi! Thanks for the honest feedback. PlayLingo is an independent app and not affiliated with any other product — we're a small team building our own approach: learning languages through YouTube videos with AI-powered subtitles, translations and instant explanations right in the moment. The freezing shouldn't be happening, and we'd really like to track it down. If it's not too much trouble, drop us a line at info@playlinga.app — just a few words about where it froze (which screen or what you were doing) would already help a lot. About the daily free limit: generating subtitles and AI translations costs us real money per minute of video, so the free tier covers 10 minutes a day — that's the honest trade-off that keeps the app running, and everything beyond it is what Pro covers. If an app states that users can cancel at any time, there should be a clear, accessible, and easy-to-find cancellation option. In my experience, I was unable to locate any cancellation option within the platform, which creates uncertainty and makes it more difficult to properly manage personal expenses and finances. I believe the company should review this issue and take into consideration consumer protection laws and regulations related to subscriptions and cancellations.
