## What is LANTERNA DI GENOVA?

The Lighthouse has always been the symbol of Genoa, as reflected by the presence of its image in many ancient maps and nautical charts. It stands on a promontory forty-metre high and raises up to 177 meters above sea level. The Lanterna is now the highest operational lighthouse in the Mediterranean Sea, the second highest in Europe and the third still operating oldest lighthouse (the structure we see today was built in 1543).
At the lighthouse's base there is a museum, in whose rooms you can see an exhibition on the use and function of lighthouses and maritime signaling systems. Besides the lighthouse and the museum you can visit the Park, where you can see embedded in the seventeenth-century wall the Lighthouse Gate, also known as Porta del Chiodo.

By downloading the APP, you'll have access to information of Lighthouse (history, technical data, historical map and photo gallery). You will also have the opportunity to discover the interactive tour guide, and enjoy your visit easily on your device.

This guide works thanks to the beacons; beacons are little devices placed along the path that will give you proximity contents without any interaction.

For a proper use of the APP, please make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your smart phone.

Thanks to the new QR scanner code, you will also have the possibility of having updated content available directly on your smartphone, thus avoiding gatherings within the museum. area.
