LapVision Mobile is a track-day companion for amateur and professional drivers. It turns your iPhone into a precise lap timer, telemetry recorder and post-session analyser — and integrates with the BLE GPS devices most track drivers already own. WHAT IT DOES Lap timing • Automatic start/finish line detection from your first complete lap, or pick one from the catalogue of major circuits. • Sector splits live during the session, with deltas vs your best sector ("ideal lap"). • Personal best lap highlighted; haptic and sound feedback when a new PB is set. Telemetry sources • Phone GPS + IMU — no extra hardware needed. Works on any recent iPhone running iOS 14 or newer. • RaceBox. • Optional LapVision-CAN adapter — adds engine RPM, throttle, boost, coolant temperature and other CAN-bus signals to your lap data. Works with VAG MQB / PQ (VW/Audi) — Simos 12/16/18/19 and Bosch MED17 / MG1. Analysis • Lap table with per-lap and per-sector deltas, max / avg / min speed, longitudinal and lateral G, brake time, corner count. • Sector detail screen with speed-coloured track map, speed-vs-distance graph, brake / throttle markers, Vmin point. • Cross-session compare — overlay a lap from any past session against the current one. • Corner-by-corner recommendations: carry more speed at apex, brake later, open throttle earlier — derived from a reference lap. Replay • 2D top-down playback with speed-coloured track and a vehicle marker. • Chase and drone camera modes for cinematic playback. • Combo mode — analysis tab and map side-by-side. Video recording (Beta) • Record on-track video with the iPhone camera while telemetry is captured in parallel — both are saved together as one session. • Synced playback overlays speed, lap timer, RPM, boost and gear (with the CAN adapter) on top of your video. • Export the video with the telemetry HUD burned in — share via AirDrop, Messages, Telegram, WhatsApp, or save to the photo library. • Microphone is used to record engine sound together with the video; both stay on your device. Share card • Generate a portrait or landscape image with your lap time, top speed, track silhouette and a photo of your car. Share to Telegram, Instagram, WhatsApp or save to the photo library. Diagnostics (Beta, optional) • Reads diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) over UDS from engine, transmission and ABS modules. Auto-detects VAG vehicles by reading VIN and ECU model. • Live PID telemetry recorder writes engine data to CSV (RaceChrono v3 compatible) for offline analysis. • Requires the LapVision-CAN adapter. Reading-only — no flashing, no calibration changes. DESIGNED FOR TRACK USE LapVision Mobile is built for closed-course driving — track days, time-attack, autocross, dragstrip runs. We do not encourage public-road use of any timing feature. Sessions are stored locally on the device. The app does not transmit your driving data to any servers, does not require an account, and does not show ads. There is no cloud sync; you control where your exports go via the system share sheet. HARDWARE NOTES • External GPS receivers (Dragy, RaceBox) connect via BLE — no cables. First pairing may take ~30 seconds while the device completes a multi-step authentication handshake. • CAN telemetry requires the LapVision-CAN adapter — available separately. • Background GPS is used only during an active recording session so that data is not lost when the screen is off or another app is foregrounded.
