### 4/5 — Did I complete level 3?

*2025-03-18, version 2.2.8*

I seem to have finished level 3 but there were still puzzles I’d not solved like the locked cabinet and the shapes puzzle! How can this be?

### 3/5 — Stunned

*2023-12-04, version 2.0.12*

Started playing the game for free with Ads. It seemed pretty good so paid £4.99 to have Ad free access as I have no objection to paying for good games. However, completed chapter 2 and that was it…”to be continued”…two chapters for that price. You’re having a laugh!

### 4/5 — Two Chapters?? Really??

*2023-11-11, version 2.0.12*

I just paid $4.99 for TWO chapters? I see that it will be continued and I sure hope I will get the rest of the game - AD FREE - for what I paid for the first two chapters.
That said, it was a challenging game with excellent puzzles. Don’t be in such a rush to put out a short, unfinished app.

### 4/5 — Love it, but I am confused

*2023-10-31, version 2.0*

Play for free, with ads, or pay to have ads removed, or pay per level?

Some options there, but not for me. Sadly, I don’t have the free resources these days to give someone else a regular income.

The first game was AMAZING, and yes, I will pay for a game, but due to my low income, cannot afford to help as a tied in patreon. If this is the only way to gain access to future levels, I can’t commit to that level of output. Good luck to the Devs. This game like the others is; wonderful, so well thought out, and a puzzler’s dream. I am sadly out on this one, and probably any of similarly pay monthly to play games. If I have misunderstood about Patreon, I am not alone, perhaps there is a reason for this?

### 5/5 — No way this is 2.5 … but the payment system isn’t good

*2023-10-27, version 2.0*

So far fantastic, like first game. People who leave bad reviews about payment are usually my pet hate - would they work for free? - but a monthly payment system does seem odd (I can to some extent recognise that devs may need to modify how much work they do according to how popular the app is). So I’m giving a 5 for game play so far and for balance but think the lower scores have a basic point. I wish apps had separate scores for value for money - if I hadn’t loved Laqueus 1 I woudn’t even have looked at this - devs get less income - they cannot code such an amazing app - unfair vicious circle

### 3/5 — I beat chapter 2 but.

*2023-10-27*

It crashed me?
I mean I saw a QR code earlier in the game….
Something feels off.

This isn’t the sequel, is it.

**Developer response:** To be continued... chapter 3 is under development!

### 5/5 — Very excited!

*2023-10-16, version 2.0*

I am so pleased another chapter of this fabulous game has been made, the moaning about price is unfair, especially given how much free content has already been given in part 1, I understand why the devs do it this way, an enormous amount work goes into the creation of something this unique and it’s only fair the developers have an idea if they will recoup their efforts, think about how much money the likes of kim Kardashian or junes journey make for much less originality and a very generic boring concept, patreons give great indie devs a way to continue their brilliant work.

### 5/5 — Another great one from SmartCode!

*2023-10-08*

Great game. If you’ve played the first Laqueus then you know. If you haven’t, go play it! These are great games from a talented indie developer - wonderful, fun, interesting, puzzles which can sometimes be quite challenging, and stunning graphics. Really looking forward to the next chapters! Well worth the price for hints and no ads. Thank you SmartCode! Love your games!

**Developer response:** Thank you it was really good to hear that!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Mmm not thrilled

*2025-03-05, version 2.2.8*

There are too many numbers grids in these puzzles so it feels more like sudoku than a visual feast … the first game set was superb but this is a duller game overall

### 1/5 — Do not play if you dislike ai images is puzzle games

*2024-09-01, version 2.2.8*

Everything was fine until chapter 3, when I noticed a part of the puzzles were ai generated.

### 1/5 — Too expensive

*2023-11-27, version 2.0.12*

7$ for a 2 level game. Really?

### 1/5 — Not worth $4.99 - only 2 chapters!!

*2023-11-15, version 2.0.12*

This game is really good! It’s just too short to pay that much for it.

### 1/5 — Deleted my progress

*2023-10-15, version 2.0*

Was nearly finished with level 2. Left the app to answer a text and when I opened the app, it had restarted and all my progress was erased

### 1/5 — Money grabbing

*2023-10-08, version 2.0*

This games only has two levels and they want £4.99 to remove adds. After the two levels they want you to sign up to a monthly fee to get more levels.

### 2/5 — Promising but glitchy

*2024-04-19, version 2.2.8*

Some good puzzles so far, but I’ve now deleted it due to glitches.

Points to improve. When you click on an inventory item it doesn’t tell you what it is and not always obvious.

When you quit, the autosave doesn’t catch up and puts items back and is confusing.

I would pay for no ads if the game ran smoothly but the glitches are too common.

### 2/5 — Where is the rest of it?

*2023-12-30, version 2.0.12*

Seriously, for 4.99 I expect to be playing more than 2 levels! I know there’s ‘more to come’ but that should be made explicit! Happy to buy completed games but this feels like a con. I love the gameplay, don’t get me wrong, but I have no idea when or if I’m going to get the rest of it.

### 2/5 — 2 Chapters

*2023-11-16*

I think these devs should have waited until the game was complete before releasing it. I’m sure they’re losing people’s interest. 2 short chapters for $5.00? Come on.

**Developer response:** Chapter 3 is out and there will be more. Thank you for your patience!

### 3/5 — Pay for more ads than game :(

*2025-01-20, version 2.2.8*

I really like well-designed escape puzzlers, and I don’t mind paying for them. I DO mind:

1. Paying for an intentionally immersive dark and moody game which benefits from audio that is then regularly interrupted by long and loud ads - so often that I spent as much or more time watching ads than playing the game. Why did I pay anything if you guys just turned around and got ad money?!?

2. Solving puzzles and moving foward just a few chapters only to be sent with no warning to an abrupt black screen “To Be Continued…” as a game close - especially when complaints about the game being unfinished go back a year with responses posted promising more content back then. It’s clear you’re happy just taking people’s money.

It’s a shame that a development team which is able to craft interesting puzzles is working with a developer so disinterested in completing their work or treating paying customers fairly. I won’t be playing anything else from this developer until other reviews state the work is complete and you get the value of what you’ve paid for. For now, I’m irritated that I gave them anything.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2025-09-05, version 2.2.8*

Please continue with your craft. Sorry you have people complaining. Its obvioua they dont know how much work goes into creating puzzles like these and how long it can take perfecting it. Youll always have a customer in me -BLF

### 5/5 — One of the best

*2024-12-14*

I’ve played them all - The Room series, House of Da Vinci, Legacy, Meridian, all of them and many more. I tell you if you loved those games, you will love this as much and more. The graphics and movement are great, the puzzles can be challenging, but free hints are available. I paid for no ads just so could send money to the developers. I want a third instalment and many more!!! The chapters aren’t being released fast enough. It’s been so long, and I’m looking for other games. Release it after and you need to charge for this app like the others. People will pay!! :)

### 5/5 — Great game so far!!!

*2024-05-28, version 2.2.8*

So the thing is…. You said the 3rd game is out but it’s not on mobile… I’m super upset about that BUT I’m super happy about what you did with the second game. Now, I’ve noticed that people were upset about the unfinished game, but that probably because all of you people beg and beg and beg and the developers are being rushed and are forced to publish the game unfinished and it turns out bad and no one likes it and it’s just AHHH. But I think this turned out ok. The issue is that it was rushed. So please take your time on the next chapters. But none the less… great game! And please put the games on mobile!

### 5/5 — You need this game!

*2024-05-16, version 2.2.8*

I was initially skeptical of only 2 chapters in the latest edition of this game. When they added chapter 3, I went back and played both Laqueus 1 and 2 to completion. It is a beautiful game. A LOT of math, but worth it. Kudos to these devs. They have put out hours of engaging game play with this series. I hope they continue to put out more. It is one of the best adventure puzzlers out there.

### 5/5 — Great!!

*2024-01-28, version 2.0.12*

I’ve played both games, can’t wait for the rest of #2 . I went up the elevator and that was it. When are the next levels being released? I can’t wait to play them.
Thank you

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2023-12-19, version 2.0.12*

Love these games! I finished the first Laqueus game last spring and was thrilled to see a new one came out. It definitely makes you think; sometimes I have to close the app and come back later to finish the puzzles, but once I understand them I feel like a genius. Graphics were also amazing as always. Overall I was very satisfied with this installment and I can’t wait for the next room to be released. Highly recommend for people who enjoy challenging point and click escape room games!

### 5/5 — A great follow up for a wonderful escape game

*2023-11-12*

Just suddenly discovered that the part 2 came out - it looks great, playability is well thought. Puzzles are not super complicated but in chapter 2 sometimes I had to leave the game and wait for a “moment of enlightenment “, since in-game messages are not always easy to interpret properly. Had a great time playing, looking forward to see next chapters, thank to the devs!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the nice words!

### 5/5 — Very Satisfying!

*2023-11-10, version 2.0.12*

If you love to solve and take satisfaction in not using hints, this is the app you will want. Challenging, but then when you get it, so cool. The graphics were perfect, and yes since I paid for the game I would’ve liked it to be longer, but still so worth it. Very good job developers!

### 5/5 — Love this one even more than the 1st!

*2023-11-06, version 2.0.12*

HOWEVER…when I’m done with level 2 and get on the elevator…and it just ends and throws me out (crashes!) of the app. I mean, seriously…WTF!
Only 2 levels? Never mind that, but THAT is no way to end a game, by just throwing me out and shutting down the app. I can see where people would think the app crashed and feel like there is more!
C’mon you guys are better than this. There should be at least 3 levels to a game…it seems like you just wanted to release it, unfinished.
NEVERTHELESS…beautifully done, great puzzles, jaw dropping on a few of them 😄👍
