## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.2 — 2026-08-15

Bug fixes in the UI which meant inconsistent styling appeared in some areas.

### 1.6.1 — 2026-08-11

Home and the shopping list both got a proper rework this update, alongside a redesigned Recipes screen and a few genuinely new ways to plan.

HOME
• Rebuilt around "what's happening today" instead of a settings form, tonight's meal and quick actions come first
• Your week is now a short summary (supermarket, budget, household) with everything else moved to a dedicated settings screen
• Surprise Me renamed to Inspire Me, with a short caption under it and Genie explaining what each one actually does

RECIPES
• Full redesign: search and results come first, filters and sorting tucked behind a single toolbar instead of a wall of chips
• All / Favourites / Recently viewed tabs
• Add recipe is now one button with a proper menu, matching the rest of the app, not a native system prompt
• "Not a normal week?" presets for things like being unwell, a new baby, or wanting to batch cook and coast through a busier week

SHOPPING LIST
• Redesigned around actually shopping with it: budget and progress up top, checked items settle to the bottom of their category as you go
• Add an item (name, quantity, category) straight onto this week's list, it slots into the right aisle immediately, not a separate section
• Bulk actions (mark all, clear checked, reset) moved behind a menu with confirmation, so they're not one accidental tap away
• Categories you've finished now show as genuinely complete, not just collapsed

DATA QUALITY
• Reviewed the whole recipe library for vague or missing instructions, several hundred recipes tightened up with real timings and clearer steps
• Corrected allergen information across hundreds of recipes, so dietary filtering is more reliable throughout the app

As always, everything stays on your device. No account, no cloud, nothing shared.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-08-11

Larder's had a proper redesign, top to bottom, plus a good number of new features. Here's everything that's changed:

DESIGN
• A full visual redesign across every screen, quieter, more considered, less clutter
• Your profile now shows your initials in a colour of your choosing, instead of an emoji
• Recipes screen tidied up throughout, including Batch Cook Mode

PLANNING
• Plan multiple weeks ahead, not just this week and next
• Pin your regular weekly meals so they plan themselves every time
• Keep to budget while planning, a toggle that actively picks cheaper recipes as your week fills up
• Recipe Folders, organise your own collections (Sunday roasts, kids' favourites, date night)
• Recurring days that aren't a recipe, like a standing takeaway Friday, so the planner leaves them alone
• A cooking confidence setting, steering suggestions toward simpler recipes if you'd like
• A "What's new" screen right in the app, so you always know what's changed

COOKING
• Cook Diary, automatically logs what you've made, with space for your own photos and notes
• Step timers built into Cooking Mode, so nothing overcooks while you're reading the next step
• Surprise Me, just pick something for tonight without thinking about it

SHOPPING & LARDER
• Add your own items to the shopping list, not just recipe ingredients, they'll show up in your Larder too
• Batch Cook Mode now shows real cost-per-portion as you browse recipes
• Batch cook a bulk buy moved to Recipes, closer to where you're actually picking what to cook

SHARING
• Share any recipe with another Larder user, by file or QR code
• Share a whole week's plan the same way, not just one recipe at a time
• Import a recipe straight from a photo of a cookbook page or recipe card

BUG FIXES
• Fixed a batch of duplicate recipes that could show up with a confusing "(2)" or "(3)" after the name
• Fixed Surprise Me occasionally showing a blank screen the first time you tapped it
• Fixed a recipe screen that could show blank instead of the recipe in rare cases
• Various small fixes and polish throughout

As always, everything stays on your device. No account, no cloud, nothing shared.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-08-07

This release is for Dan - added more recipes (including chicken Madras)

Ability to share recipes across Larders using QR code.

Improvement to budge calculations so budget stays within range.

### 1.4.4 — 2026-08-05

Urgent bug fixes to recipe instructions, some recipes would exclude steps or display them in the incorrect order
