## What is Larkfeed?

Larkfeed is a free RSS and Atom feed reader for iPhone and iPad, no in-app purchase. You pick your sources, the app fetches them, and nothing goes through a server of ours.

WHAT MATTERS, WITHOUT AN ALGORITHM
One prolific feed buries twelve others. The Morning Selection gathers every feed into a single list, at most three articles per feed, twenty in all; in the evening it starts again from the day's articles. The rule is printed at the bottom of the screen: no model, no score, no relevance guessed on your behalf.

ADD A FEED WITHOUT HUNTING FOR ITS ADDRESS
Paste the address of a site, the app looks for the feeds it offers, downloads them, checks that they parse, and lets you choose. Nothing broken makes it into your list. You can also ask Siri to add a feed.

READ NOW, READ AGAIN OFFLINE
Reader mode fetches the full text of the article and shows it for what it is: text. Set the size from 80 to 160%, pick a serif or sans-serif face and one of four backgrounds. A button opens the original page in Safari. Images are kept on the device, a budget from 100 MB to 1 GB, and read back with no network. A subscriber site? Sign in from its settings, and reader mode then fetches its paywalled articles.

LISTEN TO A PODCAST
When a feed publishes audio episodes, it moves to the Podcasts section and its episodes play inside the app. Playback continues in the background, with the usual controls on the Lock Screen, in Control Center and over AirPlay. It is made for listening to an episode from a feed you follow, not for replacing a podcast app.

YOUR FEEDS STAY YOURS
No account to create, no Precellence server, no analytics. Everything stays on your device unless you turn sync on: feeds, folders, reads and saves then go through your own iCloud, in a private database with no access for us, erasable whenever you like. The app connects only to the feeds and sites you give it, and your iCloud if you chose it.

A LOCK FOR THE APP
A passcode, with Face ID or Touch ID if you want it, stops someone holding your unlocked device from opening the app. The app hides its content in the app switcher and locks again when it goes to the background. It is a screen lock, not encryption specific to Larkfeed, and it does not apply to the copy living in your iCloud: the privacy policy says so in plain words.

ON IPHONE AND ON IPAD
On iPad the sidebar and the article share the screen: not a blown-up iPhone. Translated into French, English, Spanish and German, in light, dark or whatever the system is set to.

REFRESH WHEN YOU WANT
Pull down, tap the button, or pick a time: the app tells you from that time onwards how many new articles arrived (iOS does not guarantee the exact minute). Titles stay out of the notification by default: a title on the Lock Screen would bypass the passcode.
