However, I’m shocked by the lack of basic tech integrations. At this price point, there's no excuse for not having iOS widgets or an Apple Watch app. LARQ clearly has the revenue to pay developers to build these features—come on guys, update the app! ### 3/5 — App issues defeat the purpose of the bottle *2026-08-22, version 1.4.0* The app frequently fails to sync with my LARQ bottle, so my water consumption is not being updated accurately. I’m also unable to complete a filter change in the app. I can go through the entire process, but when I reach the final page and tap “Finish,” nothing happens, so the filter change never registers. Considering how much this bottle costs, I can’t justify the price when two of its main features, hydration tracking and filter tracking, are not working properly. At that point, it defeats much of the purpose of paying a premium for a smart bottle. I hope these issues are addressed soon. ### 2/5 — Bottle is great, app is very frustrating *2026-08-21, version 1.4.0* I had a bottle from this companies original kickstarter and it served me well for many years. It finally quit on me recently and I was excited about the upgrades with the new version, including the app. Unfortunately, a day in, the app has already presented a slew of issues. Most frustrating is that it refuses to record a new filter installation—I can make it through all the steps of this until the end, where the “finish” button is entirely unresponsive. Went to submit feedback on this within the app and lo and behold, those pages are unresponsive as well. A real bummer, as tracking filter replacements is a main facet of what I would have used this limited app for. ### 2/5 — Can’t not delete manual entry *2026-08-21, version 1.4.0* The app has a feature that allows you to manually add drinks from other sources, but I was only able to add entries and couldn’t delete them. While trying to troubleshoot the issue, the app duplicated several of my entries, leaving me with multiple records that I couldn’t remove. This completely threw off my daily hydration total. It’s frustrating to have a manual-entry feature without a reliable way to edit or delete incorrect or duplicated entries. Hopefully this gets fixed in a future update. ### 2/5 — Update has broken app *2026-08-21, version 1.4.0* App was working okay until yesterday’s update. It was a bit buggy in tracking water drunk from bottle, but easy to add drinks manually. Now even that is really buggy. I wish developers would properly test “improvements” before they push them out! ### 3/5 — Buggy *2026-08-18, version 1.3.0* The developers don’t seem to care about the iOS app. I’ve been using it for 6 months, everything was fine and then suddenly the app started deleting hydration data. I’ve emailed the developer and have also reached out through the app, but haven’t had any response in 5 days….even though the auto generated email said someone should be in touch within 24 hours ### 3/5 — What is the app for if not to send you notifications to drink? *2026-08-01, version 1.3.0* I thought this was going to send me phone notifications on how much I have still left to drink to reach my goals each day. This is a missed opportunity. ### 3/5 — Love the bottle, hate the app *2026-07-22, version 1.3.0* The app needs a stronger sensor. Sometimes the bottle doesn’t light up after a sip and I have to stare at the app to make sure my sip was recorded. Other times it doesn’t update at all, and then 20 mins to hours later the data bum rushes my history. Sometimes it reflects I’ve drank more than the bottle physically can hold. It would be better if the app shows a real time level of how much water is in it at the time of filling. Another issue is the sensor definitely struggles keeping up within a car. For rideshare drivers like me all the stop and go is really confusing on the sensor so I won’t deduct points for that because of my business but I hate babysitting the sensor to make sure it updates. Lastly I need to be able to change the manual Oz’s selections. Sometimes I need to select 10oz more than I need to select 12oz or 8oz. I NEVER select 23oz or 26oz, when I’m driving I shouldn’t have to type that in because the developers didn’t think to allow us to edit our frequent choices. Please change this! Other than that, having this bottle makes drinking water and keeping up with my daily hydration fun for me. I’m optimizing my prenatal health and my wife and I are trying for children soon and this is one of the many tools supporting my reproductive health journey. ### 3/5 — Great bottle - needs 2 things tho *2026-07-19, version 1.3.0* Love the bottle, UV light, filter and tracking! Tho I keep getting notices to have Larq running in the background and cap shows it’s offline. You need to set up an account with your email and data in the cloud to use the app plus the app requires a constant Internet cellular connection to even open. What’s up with that just doesn’t make any sense. They should just have an app that works with the water bottle without requiring an account and without requiring a data connection. It should work on an iPod touch if anybody still has one of those or an older phone if you don’t have your data and your cellular plan active, which is my case anyways but I love the water bottle ### 1/5 — Expensive bottle, app that doesn’t track anything *2026-08-27, version 1.4.1* I bought this bottle specifically to track my water intake, but the app never logged a single sip even after I finished the whole bottle — the only things that actually work are the battery indicator and the UV self-cleaning status. I bought this because it said it would send notifications to my phone to drink water, it does no such thing. I then lost that Larq after having a 124 day streak. It was strangely satisfying and motivating to see how long I could keep the streak going. I bought another one (unfortunately it was a long wait) and then the 2nd Larq has been nothing but a disappointment. Often the amount I drink doesn’t show up and my streak is either 6, 7 or 8 days. I did all of the self help features and keep reaching out. It has been over 2 weeks and I get emails saying they are working on it! Really? I think they should send me a new one. ### 1/5 — Hydration Tracking Doesn’t Work *2026-06-20, version 1.3.0* Do not buy this water bottle if you want for anything other than the filtering ability. The hydration tracking will never accurately work. They haven’t figured that out yet, but they’ve pushed it to the market. I’ve bought two of these bottles and have had 4 different lids. Only one was able to track accurately, but the lids closing mechanism is so flimsy that eventually it broke and I was right back to no tracking capabilities ### 1/5 — App freezes *2026-06-09, version 1.3.0* Brand new and installed the app, but it hangs and freezes. I won't be using the app. Hopefully the water bottle is better quality then the app. ### 1/5 — 3 Years later, still no widgets.. *2026-06-05, version 1.3.0* The main reason I got this bottle was for live widgets on how much I am drinking, without opening an app… 3 years after promising this Larq has done nothing. They’ve used the money and time for celebrity endorsed ads, target collabs, and very bad ai video ads. The app still does not have widgets (which are very easy to implement). They also have not added a form of dark mode, so you have to open their blindingly bright app multiple times a day to track your water.. For this reason my bottle is dead and used as a non smart bottle most of the time. The company cares more about a quick profit than making a proper product and fulfilling their kickstarter promises. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t accurately track water *2026-06-02, version 1.3.0* I bought this bottle because it was one of the best at tracking water. Well, it certainly doesn’t track accurately. I have the app open and the bottle next to my phone. I’ll drink from my bottle and nothing happens. I’ll take another sip and nothing. The bottle lights up but still nothing. I’ll take another sip and then it registers that I drank less than an ounce of water. That’s certainly not accurate. I do have a few suggestions that I think could make it even better. One thing I’ve noticed is the ring light feature. While it’s useful in some situations, there are times when I wish I could control it or turn it off completely. For example, when I bring my bottle to meetings at work or larger social gatherings, the flashing light can draw unwanted attention and feel a bit awkward. Because of this, I’ve actually stopped taking my Purevis 2 to work. As a designer, I understand how important it is to think about the social side of product features, so I was a bit surprised that there wasn’t an option to control the light. ### 5/5 — Super User Friendly *2026-04-30, version 1.3.0* The app makes everything super simple and easy to understand. It turns out I’m really bad at estimating the amount of water I’m drinking throughout the day. Equally bad at estimating filter expiration as well. When my doctor asked me how much water I’ve been drinking, I was able to give exact amounts in the doctor’s office, because I really didn’t know and my guess was far off. ### 5/5 — If you’re thinking about it… *2026-02-05, version v1.2.2* Stop. Invest not only in the product but also in yourself. I bought a Purevis 2 in November 2024, and it’s been my daily water bottle ever since. No more single-use plastic bottles! I can reliably get pure and clean water from the tap, public fountains, or even the water tanks of trains and airplanes. I love the tracking feature of the water intake, which connects to the Apple Health app. This gives me valuable insights into my daily and yearly water consumption. As a result, I’ve been able to increase my daily water intake, leading to a healthier lifestyle. If you have any questions, concerns, or issues with the app or bottle, LARQ customer service is always there to help. For instance, when my bottle cap fell off the counter and stopped being watertight, I quickly filed a claim, and I received a replacement within two weeks.
