Due to some hardware limitations, RAY5 cannot use LaserBurn, but in order to meet user needs, it is expected that we will launch a special version of RAY5 firmware at the end of March (turn off the LCD screen function) to adapt to LaserBurn. Wouldn’t have bought it if I had known. ### 1/5 — This APP is terrible *2025-07-14* LONGER3D Markets their lasers to be able to use IPad OS or smartphone OS. Technically it’s correct, you can engrave with this software. It’s awful, theres no way to set gates, there’s no way to do any material tests. That alone has taken up sooo much of my time. Since you’re guessing for power and speed, you have to manually set it in layers if you want to test. You can’t save any templates (like your own tests that you’ve made) you just have to hope they are back in the”historic” section and you can find it. It’s only good if you were meticulous when setting your speeds and power per group. I’ve now bought the cheapest laptop I could find on Amazon, so I can run lightburn. This app is absolutely awful. It’s like it was made to be used as a demonstration, like something LONGER3D would’ve brought to CES2012 or something. Not impressed, this thing is bad. Download lightburn, don’t waste your time. The one problem I had was with my phone disconnecting from the laser cutters WiFi network since it had no connection to the internet. Once I bypassed that and homed it I had no issue getting things working. First ever laser cutter experience too so you know it’s not a fluke. ### 5/5 — Works great *2025-07-13* App works great with my Longer nano. I can’t save a project locally on my device and modify it later? 2. I can’t save the material profile for the open project, but that material disappears when I open the app again? 3. You can’t go back to the edit page if the border is on, it wouldn’t automatically turn off and let you go back, it simply doesn’t respond if you click on the arrow to the top left.
