An entry I posted on 9/1 was dated 8/1, and a reply from my partner for today 9/11 was dated 8/24. This is a disaster as it lends the appearance of neglect. I’m very angry over this, because it has the protential to ruin a relationship at the same time that it intends to repair one. Understanding the timing of interaction is mission critical, and the app makers should obviously know this. Honestly, I could cry over this trivially-seeming flaw. We’re trying to patch things together with the app. We are separated. The situation is delicate, and the app is reporting misinformation at a very sensitive time. Getting this right is so easy that it is taught in week two of a standard programming course. The app makers are taking on a very serious role here that demands responsibility. They could ruin marriages through carelessness. Use with caution. ### 4/5 — Content is great but paying for subscription is a nightmare! *2025-02-13, version 3.2.10* Update: Updating my review to share that the developers may have heard our cries! Today after using an email link to purchase a discounted annual subscription, I received a follow-up email a few hours later with instructions on activating the subscription. I hope this is a sign that they’ve figured out how to make this process less stressful for subscribers. I LOVE the content in the app. I believe it has helped my partner and I learn how to communicate more effectively. I also think the webinar topics are interesting. That aside, it has been an absolute NIGHTMARE with getting my app to show the subscription upgrade after we took a short break from the paid version. I’ve reached out to support multiple times and gotten a “Sorry I can’t help you with the app, but here’s a link to pay the subscription online,” only for the premium app features to be unavailable because the upgrade doesn’t show 🙄 I even tried accessing the content through the website and my account still shows the free version. I’ve reached the point where I’m tired of wasted time and money, and want to switch to a similar app that doesn’t give me all of these issues. ### 2/5 — Buggy, outdated *2025-01-27, version 3.2.10* This app is buggy and outdated. Many times it wouldn’t record my responses and when me and my partner compared answers it said I hadn’t responded to the question. Also, there was a question about dating during the pandemic - uh, it’s 2025. Also there were a bunch of irrelevant questions about e.g. rekindling romance. We’re a new couple. We’re using Paired now and so far it’s much better. ### 4/5 — Upgrade? *2024-04-01, version 3.0.5* I love this app, but it keeps putting up a pop-up to tell me that an upgrade is available. When I click the link, it takes me back to the app store which just says “open”. I don’t want to remove it from my phone and reinstall it because I don’t want to lose the data my partner and I have created. ### 1/5 — Easy to sign up *2024-03-23, version 3.0.5* Hard to cancel the subscription. I HATE apps that do that. ### 2/5 — Great app but… *2024-03-15, version 3.0.5* My spouse and I previously used this app a long time ago but didn’t follow through. We wanted to try again but all of our old progress was saved and we are getting very frustrated trying to figure out how to restart old sessions instead of picking up where we left off, because, of course, we don’t remember a bit of what we learned before and our old answer just hardly even apply anymore. There should be an easy way to restart sessions if you want to. Other wise, I think the app is great, but this part is very frustrating. ### 1/5 — Important Warning About this App! *2024-03-12, version 3.0.5* Horrible experience!! At first I was thrilled that my girlfriend suggested this app. I was going through the exercises and reviewing the answers she shared but as I continued on I started realizing that the answers she was giving to the questions did not pertain to me or our relationship. I realized that she was talking about her ex-boyfriend Bryan! As good of a concept that this application has and as much development I’m sure you guys have put into this thing, you forgot a critical step. You need to give people the option to delete their prior history or use of the application. This realization has really take the wind out of my sails. I don’t feel “special” anymore. I honestly feel like I’m just another guy the next guy that she’s doing this doing this with now. Very disappointing! ### 1/5 — Spouse can’t create an account *2024-02-13, version 3.0.3* I’ve had no issues using this app but my husband downloaded it the same day as me and hasn’t been able to create an account. It keeps telling him to “provide a stronger password” even though it meets all the password criteria. Since he can’t create an account, he can’t pair with me, essentially making this app useless. I’ve contacted the app support and have gotten no response. Glad I didn’t sign up for the premium account. I’ve spent more time trying to figure out why they are charging a certain card, where to go to change it, and what “stripe” means that I haven’t had any time to use the resources. There is NO WHERE to view the card or account my payment is coming from and make changes. There is no customer service chat or phone number. The concept is wonderful but you have to have the business part down as well. Right now unless you get everything perfect as you’re signing up (which I don’t even know how they got the card they’re charging) it seems either shady or unreliable at best. And yes, I checked every phone‘s subscriptions. I’ve checked PayPal. I’ve checked everywhere that I have third-party payments. It is nowhere. I’ve worked in tech-support. I know how these things work I’m not inept. I open them anticipating a response from my partner and instead find that they’re my own messages, which I’ve obviously already read. We’re working through the communications module. The app reports that my partner has done exercises in a later release of the module . 1) If the app were well designed, this would not be possible, but 2) when I do go to the updated module, I learn that my partner has NOT done exercises in the later release. Again, this app is very buggy in mission critical places. Use with caution. This is a good idea for an app, and we will continue to use it for now, but the bugs are toying with our emotions as we try to fix our relationship. The app is suboptimal. Every password I created was labeled “weak,” even when I used long, complex combinations with numbers, symbols, and uppercase letters. After multiple attempts, I gave up. It’s frustrating to have an app meant to improve communication and connection become a source of stress before I can even see what it offers. I hope they update their password requirements and sign-up process so people can focus on the actual relationship work instead of wrestling with account creation. ### 1/5 — Unable to cancel subscription *2025-01-05, version 3.2.10* Buyer beware. It is near impossible to cancel the subscription once you purchase. The app sends you to the website. It crashes when launching a link from the emails which indicate a new session of therapy is available to sign up for attending. When I contacted technical support, Taylor was singularly unhelpful, and the app issue is still unresolved. I even took and sent in a screen recording of the app when I click on the link in email, but to no avail, the issue is still unresolved. Many of the therapists seem competent, and a few had EXCELLENT and well presented sessions… I stuck with Lasting because of that but I am canceling because I cannot access content for which I paid. 0/10 for the app, and it’s even more annoying that there is no website in which to access content. 7.5/10 for the therapist sessions—when accessible. ### 1/5 — Giant FAIL if you aren't an East Coast subscriber *2024-08-23, version 3.2.10* Unless you are unemployed, the live events aren't timed for viewing in time zones MST or PST. The first lesson exercises are ok. After that, they ho off course. Plus NOT ALL LIVE EVENTS are made available after the live event. Unacceptable!!!! Plus emails to their "Customer Service" go unanswered. They don't cover so many other relationship real issues. So I searched for other options and found this app. I’m not saying it’s a good replacement for couples counseling, but it was great for our unstable relationship. Every time I brought up problems before the app he would find a way to turn it into me “fighting” even if I was just trying to ask basic questions. So having the app ask them was better for me. He still blew up when I brought up a girl he likely cheated on me with and an ex he kept talking to despite knowing it weirded me out since he was living with her when we met. When I saw that even when we were in a controlled environment where we were both supposed to bring up our concerns it made his emotional abuse so loud and clear. So it didn’t keep us together lol, but it helped me realize his actions had nothing to do with me and he simply wanted to avoid the big red flags in our 3 year relationship to continue doing whatever he was doing without any accountability. I also want to point out that the app is great at helping you understand each other’s perspectives etc. It encourages you to learn more about them in ways you don’t think to once you’re in a committed relationship. Had we not had so many problems I think this would have been really great at strengthening a relationship.
