### 4/5 — Not as bad as I assumed originally

*2026-04-17, version 2.104.0*

My first experience with this app was total frustration. With the amount of UI thrown at you, you kinda assume it’s complicated. It’s really not. Once you realize most of the UI is superfluous … it just works.

### 2/5 — Broken widgets

*2026-04-05, version 2.104.0*

Widgets appear as a white rectangle when icon style is set to clear or tinted. Completely broken since the iOS 26 update.

### 2/5 — Downgrade in experience

*2026-03-04, version 2.104.0*

Unlocking doors now actually takes significantly longer than it used to with keys and key fobs. The lag is significant and I’m pretty sure that this is an ultimate architectural flaw that can’t be fixed without significant efforts. Therefore I don’t really anticipate that the experience will improve in the future.

### 2/5 — Slow App

*2026-03-03, version 2.104.0*

Unlocks doors very slowly and makes one look like a creep. Apartment forced this on us and I wish we’d go back to using a regular physical key.

### 1/5 — Just give us normal key

*2026-02-25, version 2.104.0*

This is all pointless “tech”! Nobody asked for it, and nobody likes it.

### 1/5 — Unlock the door when person is 6 feet away

*2026-02-23, version 2.104.0*

Unlock the door when person is 6 feet away

### 1/5 — This is an awful way to access spaces

*2026-02-21, version 2.104.0*

Even though the owner attempted to share the information with us, I emphasize attempted. The instructions were very confusing between using this app or DOOR. There’s no apparent create account button when you launch the app. We spent more time trying to figure this out than we spent getting to the city. You should be ashamed of yourself.

### 1/5 — Works fine, but poor organization makes app cumbersome

*2026-02-21, version 2.104.0*

Overall, the app and locks work well as intended. My biggest issue is the organization. My building has a large number of common area doors and they are in one giant list for the building. There is no way to organize doors into my own lists and not even a way to pin the most commonly used doors to the main screen inside the app. The most you can do is reorder the one giant list for the building. The lack of basic organizational functions is a glaring oversight and makes an otherwise good app cumbersome to use.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-02-20, version 2.104.0*

Disappointing

### 1/5 — Would rather have a key

*2026-02-19, version 2.104.0*

I’ve had to use this for 2 separate buildings I’ve lived in and both experiences have been awful. Consistent trouble connecting and opening doors. Incredibly inconsistent letting others in. Not to mention, you can’t access your own residence without a charged phone. Absolutely hate this service. Give me a physical key 100% of the time.

### 1/5 — Forces you to have the app open to get in your home.

*2026-02-16, version 2.104.0*

The widgets are useful, but you’d better hope you’ll never be in a hurry to get since it takes FOREVER to connect. Also the guest code experience is a sure-fire way lose friends and alienate people.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-02-13, version 2.104.0*

This app is terrible, I am locked out of apartment and app not working

### 2/5 — Needs a carplay app!

*2026-02-13, version 2.104.0*

The app is required by my apartment complex. It is very inconvenient that they don’t have a carplay app to open the garage! You have to take out ur phone while driving in to openthe garage. Additionally it lags constantly —sometimes I wonder if I genuinely am in a dangerous situation with a kidnapper after me or something, well good luck to me bc the apartment door latch is gonna take its sweet time and rip to me

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2026-02-13, version 2.104.0*

The app is very glitchy. Keep having to close it and reopen. Takes a long time to connect to the door.

### 1/5 — NEVER works

*2026-02-10, version 2.104.0*

one thing you’re guaranteed is your latch never working! it’ll stay stuck on the unlocking screen and never unlock saying it’s a “bluetooth error” (spoiler it’s not bc i’m able to connect to literally everything else) and of course the keypad suck and the code is 27 numbers long. never use latch EVER!

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-02-10, version 2.104.0*

Avoid

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stay away from apartments that use this app

*2026-06-19, version 2.104.0*

Literally breaks and then you are locked out of your apartment. Horrible app

### 1/5 — hate it

*2026-05-01, version 2.104.0*

property mgmt forced us to use this

### 1/5 — Trash

*2026-04-09, version 2.104.0*

This app is trash

### 1/5 — Tech bros ruin everything

*2026-03-26, version 2.104.0*

This is so much worse than useless. This isn’t just aggravating, it’s dangerous. The central premise is obviously nonsense, but tech bros gonna tech bro, so here we are. Use your phone to open doors! Great, easy, convenient…until your phone battery is dead and your charger is in your room, or until the signal isn’t great and you’re locked in an elevator, or until a satellite goes down and you can’t get into your house. I had to use the app to leave the workout room of my building - sure am glad there wasn’t any kind of emergency. Not like this was very obviously dangerous beyond belief or anything.

Next time I’m moving, any apartment building I see is using this trash is immediately removed from consideration, in my book.

In a world with any justice, the creators of this thing would be fired and fined into oblivion.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-03-15, version 2.104.0*

Horrible app. randomly logs me out and resets the widget. locked me out of my place multiple times already. It barely could perform the function of LETTING THE OWNER IN

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-03-12, version 2.104.0*

I hope this dumb technology either goes away or greatly improves. It’s trash right now.

### 1/5 — Terrible!! Sloooow!!!

*2026-03-11, version 2.104.0*

This awful app was forced on me by my apartment complex. It’s sooo slow and takes FOREVER to unlock a door. In an emergency situation I’d be dead before this trash app opens a lock. Horrible!!

### 1/5 — This is so stupid

*2026-03-10, version 2.104.0*

A terrible app for a problem that does not exist

### 1/5 — Go back

*2026-03-04, version 2.104.0*

Go back to the name LATCH

### 1/5 — Bad UX, Terrible security

*2026-03-03, version 2.104.0*

They don’t have 2 factor authentication. The Bluetooth is shotty at best, often have to close the app and re open it to get it to connect.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love Latch Hate Door

*2026-05-22, version 2.104.0*

I miss this app. It performs significantly better than Door and is less prone to bugs. I’ve decided to continue using Latch as long as possible until they resolve all the issues with Door.

### 5/5 — Add carplay to open garage doors

*2026-01-18, version 2.104.0*

Great app but add carplay to open garage doors

### 5/5 — Amon

*2026-01-02, version 2.104.0*

Amen

### 5/5 — Reliable and Easy to Use

*2026-01-02, version 2.104.0*

I did not choose to use the Latch App on my own—it is the system used at the apartment complex where I live for individual apartments and community access points such as the mailroom and fitness center. That said, I’ve had a very positive experience with it.

I’ve been using the app for about a year and a half and have not had a single issue. It works reliably and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Overall, it has been a smooth and dependable access solution.

### 5/5 — Latch Review

*2025-12-22, version 2.104.0*

Latch has really been Helpful Easy Access & Convenient

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2025-12-20, version 2.104.0*

It is very easy to work with but it doesn’t unlock everywhere.
