### 3/5 — Helpful but not entirely sufficient.

*2025-02-25, version 4.2*

This app was helpful, but it does not have as many words as I would like and it isn’t very accurate to the language.

### 2/5 — Why Ad?

*2024-10-03*

When switching between English and Latin, ads are inserted and time is taken away, hindering instant searches. Is there a other version of without ads?

英語とラテン語を切り替える時に広告が挿入されて時間を奪われ、即座の検索を阻害されます。広告のないversionはありませんか?

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2023-01-21, version 4.1*

Can not translate dog or room

### 1/5 — Does not compute

*2022-04-27, version 4.1*

It didn’t even try to translate the simple infinitive form of a word “offere”. I had full bars, it simply would not show anything besides a white screen and an add

### 1/5 — Don’t waste time

*2022-03-22, version 4.1*

Is simply does nothing! Looks like a prank

### 1/5 — SPQR Dictionary

*2022-01-21, version 4.1*

Does not work properly, it is useless!

### 1/5 — Latin to English mode problem

*2021-09-25, version 3.0*

It seems that the letters at the end of the alphabet cannot be found in the search field. Ex I cannot find the translation from Latin to English of “vale” and actually there is no way to see any word that starts with V in that mode. If you put A you will see all As words

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work!

*2021-08-21, version 3.0*

I type in a word/words and no translation takes place, nothing!

### 2/5 — Not even a real dictionary

*2021-06-25, version 3.0*

It’s not even a real dictionary. Why do I need to search the word when I just wanted a regular dictionary from A-Z

### 3/5 — Can’t see translation

*2021-06-12, version 3.0*

Might be me but Latin translation is invisible, moving to viewable app.

### 1/5 — Unusable with dark theme

*2021-01-21, version 3.0*

I have the dark theme enabled on my iPhone and the colours for the text and background for this app make it unusable, when you search for a word your text is black on a black background, then the translation text is white on a white background... I can only assume this is a dark mode issue because if the app was actually made with those colours as default it would be entirely useless.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work.

*2021-01-11, version 3.0*

Translations are blank. Trash.

### 1/5 — Useless.

*2020-11-10, version 3.0*

I could not get this application to perform anything.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not a true dictionary, almost useless

*2024-08-03, version 4.2*

This app is not a true Latin dictionary. For verbs, a proper Latin dictionary will show the 4 parts of the verb to indicate the proper declension, etc. For nouns, the nominative and genitive to show the declension, etc. The meaning of any Latin sentence is based upon Latin grammar and the proper conjugation of verbs and the declension of nouns. This app gives none of those. For anyone leaning Latin or the experienced Latinist, this app is not for you.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-05-11, version 4.2*

Doesn’t show any results whatsoever. Only displays ads to download other apps. As a matter of fact, I’ll follow the advice to download a better app and delete this one.

### 1/5 — Does not translate

*2024-05-03, version 4.2*

This app does not translate Latin words to English. At least I don’t know how to make it do that. Is there something I’m missing? Please help.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t do anything

*2024-01-14, version 4.2*

Didn’t do anything and required the downloading of another app to even use it.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-11-13, version 4.1*

Not sure if it is because of my dark theme or just stellar design but you can read what you type and you can’t read the results. If it’s my theme I’m not changing it for one app

### 1/5 — I can’t see the output words on iPhone

*2023-09-04, version 4.1*

When I translate a word, it doesn’t show it. It’s all black

### 1/5 — Dog

*2023-06-19, version 4.1*

I tried to search the word dog in English and it kept giving me words like “dogmatic”. Terrible app.

### 1/5 — Words don’t show up

*2023-06-04, version 4.1*

I saw that I need to change my phone’s display settings but that’s totally ridiculous to ask a user to do

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2023-05-15, version 4.1*

I’ve never once had a single word translated. This app only gives ads, and doesn’t function. There is no option to reach anyone for help.

### 1/5 — No Landscape Mode For iPads

*2023-02-23, version 4.1*

One star is all this app deserves. I downloade it to my iPad, but the app does not go into landscape mode, thereby, making it basically unusable.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — 안 나와요

*2025-07-03*

엉엉

### 5/5 — But it doesn't work on my iPad Mini-6G

*2023-12-15*

The dictionary and the app's other features are phenomenal; I use it all the time on my iPhone. But since updating to iPad iOS 17.1 it has only crashed. perii!

### 5/5 — Already found some more words

*2023-12-03, version 4.1*

I really just needed to learn more Latin. Though, I am considering buying a physical dictionary. So I can put my notes and suppositions all over the margins to find possible cognates and false cognates.

### 5/5 — iOS OPTIMUS!

*2022-05-07, version 4.1*

SALVETE IMPERIO! PRINCEPS AUCTORITAS! ROMA INVICTUS!

### 5/5 — TROUBLESHOOTING

*2020-10-29, version 3.0*

WAIT ! Before you write a review please read this ! Go into your settings

-scroll down to display and brightness

- open it up.

- You should see an example of two iPhones

-select the “light” version of the two.

- go back to the app and you will be able to read the characters

### 5/5 — Great

*2019-05-05, version 1.0*

Looking for a specific word? Look no more

### 5/5 — Great and handy

*2019-05-05, version 1.0*

Excellent dictionary to have in hand to build vocabulary.

### 4/5 — Useful but could be designed better

*2023-07-07, version 4.1*

The app is quite useful for translating and looking up words, but it does have one issue; the output information is always in black font which blends in with the background, it seems, on the dark iPhone appearance. If it changed with the brightness or made the font not blend in with the background, it would be an easy 5 star. Unfortunately, that is not the case. To use it, you need to change your phone appearance to light every time you want to use it, which is quite inconvenient.

For translating though, it works well. 5 stars for that. - 1 star for poor design.

### 4/5 — Lovely until iOS 13

*2019-09-20, version 1.0*

Was working perfectly until i upgraded to iOS 13. Now it does weird things with the flags they grow large and cover up the words you are searching for. Hopefully this gets fixed as it’s otherwise a brilliant and simple little app.

### 3/5 — Not too bad

*2026-07-05, version 4.2*

Pretty basic dictionary. The audio only works for the English word which is ridiculous because it's a Latin dictionary. Words like "think" are not in there while "thinkable" is. I even came across the latin translation for the English word "broadband". Which apparently is "broadband". Really?
