Initially I thought my phone was too old so I tried it again when I upgraded. Nope, it takes forever to load, then once you choose something to listen to, more often than not it won’t even play. I purchased a month to try it out and was so disappointed in rarely being able to access content. The app worked better when it was Our Turtle House… come on guys, you have great content- fix your tech so it is easily accessible! ### 3/5 — Canceled after my free trial despite loving the app. *2025-06-13, version 1.0.16* I honestly LOVE this app, and all the inspiring content. However, there were so many glitches/issues that made it really frustrating to use. I had issues trying to play the content I saved in my “favorites” on the app, other times content wouldn’t load, I would click on a talk/podcast, and it would take me on some ‘clicking round-about’ and end back on the homepage again or to something completely different, and many times there were issues with the audio and sound. If the app worked smoothly I would have paid for the yearly subscription in a heartbeat. Please let me know if the glitches get fixed, I would love to subscribe! ### 2/5 — Help *2024-04-08, version 1.0.12* I love the app when it works. I went on today and it wouldn’t load. I tried resetting my password and never got an email with a verification like I was supposed to have gotten. I finally just deleted the app and canceled my subscription. This makes me sad but I paid for a year and can’t even use it😢 ### 3/5 — Has potential. Difficult to use *2023-11-21, version 1.0.12* I saw a promotion on social media to send a message to receive an invitation for the app. I did receive an invitation, but there was no link I could actually click from my phone. I then went to the app store to search and download the app. I registered with name and email. The app opened to the home screen but was unresponsive. I closed the app to open it again as a type of refresh. This time the app wouldn't even open beyond the loading screen. I deleted the app. I'm sure there is good content. I'm sure there is something I could have done more. However, when the process becomes as cumbersome as this I'm just going to move on. ### 4/5 — It’s great but… *2022-05-05, version 1.0.11* There have been several times where I click on the come follow me helps and click to view and nothing will come up. There be are so many people I’ve never heard of who have changed my life. I love that the people who put this together have people on the our turtle house who are so Christ like you can’t help but be inspired by them all! The content is all fantastic and very relevant. The only thing I’d change is the intro to the everyday items. They get old on day 3 and they are very very loud. Super loud with head phones. You have turn the volume clear down to start it wait for the intro then turn the volume clear back up to hear the people talking. I would love to rate this 5 stars. ### 5/5 — Try it! *2021-04-17, version 1.0.7* What a treat for the heart AND mind! I loved the paid subscription resources while I had them: these guys turned my 15-year-old into a church history enthusiast in a way that would have been very hard (yeah, pretty much impossible) to duplicate, but wow, what a help she is in our family study now! And we’re still enjoying the many (so many, thank you!) resources on the guest version of the app, looking forward to the day it makes a little more sense to subscribe again. ### 5/5 — Great app! Even greater content! *2021-01-07, version 1.0.7* The talks are gospel-centered and richly applicable to families and individuals in many cases. I expected it to be slow or to feel difficult to navigate, but that’s not the case; it struck me that it was easy to navigate. That’s part of what made it easy to tell what kind of content they have! ### 4/5 — Great subscription, ok app *2020-10-12, version 1.0.4* Love the subscription. The app is ok. Seems some of the bugs have been corrected (it used to stop playing if your screen went to sleep), but I still find the app lacking. My son likes to listen to a talk while falling asleep, but the app doesn’t seem to have any options to only play the one talk. It just keeps going, until I wake up at 1am to the sound of talking, just to discover it is still playing. Overall, the app has little in the way of settings, and generally I just the Browser instead. ### 4/5 — Good content but not as user friendly *2020-06-03, version 1.0.3* I love listening to the content; it is uplifting and fun. However, I wish there was an option to auto play next item or that you could just go to the “next podcast” rather than having to scroll through the entire list again to find the one you need. Otherwise great! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Didn’t work *2025-10-24, version 1.0.16* We were so excited for this app. We wanted all of the content. We were even going to share it with our kids. But it never worked right. We upgraded so we had access to everything. And nothing that is not on the free version worked. We gave it a little while hoping it was just a glitch. Emailed back and forth ( very delayed customer service) and were never really given any answers. We figured it was just an issue with my husbands account. So I opened one on my phone and upgraded as well. Nothing. Same issues. Emailed back and forth. No outcome. So basically we have been charged for 9 months between the two of us, for nothing. And at 17 -20 bucks each that’s a pretty good chunk of change. We now have both cancelled. We are disappointed and out quite a bit of money. ### 1/5 — Cannot get help *2024-09-09, version 1.0.16* I’ve been paying for a family subscription for over a month, but cannot get access to the newer items. I’ve emailed support twice with no response. This review is about the app. It’s so badly out of date and based on what feels like 2007 design. I wish they’d update it. I want my money back. ### 1/5 — Continual bugs and issues *2020-09-05, version 1.0.4* I love the concept of this app. I love the content. I love the speakers. I would love to use this subscription across several devices for our entire family. But the app just gives problem after problem. There always seem to be challenges downloading videos (this is key for the moments when you are out of wifi or cellular range), the audio rarely plays correctly on the videos, frequent password reset issues. Unfortunately I will have to cancel the subscription because it’s just not worth the money for an app that doesn’t function 100%. I think this app needs an overhaul. ### 1/5 — Clunky App *2020-05-17* I subscribed but everything is still locked. Tried subscribing multiple times, still locked. Super clunky app. I know the speakers are great too bad the app gets in the way. After deleting and reinstalling I was able to get to the content, but it is still super buggy. Videos play with no audio. Reset password never sends the email with the new password. I am a paying bug tester 😕 Very poorly executed. Still waiting on a new password. He has some equally amazing companions, and ALL make up this lively, full of love, filled with humor AND sensitivity ANDDDD the AWEEE of The Spirit, House, even Our TURTLEHOUSE, which teaches in abundance, through every word spoken, and testifies of Christ in all things!!! Can’t recommend OUR TURTLEHOUSE highly enough! There’s something here for everyone you know!!!! So many uplifting talks, podcasts, daily devotionals…..our family absolutely loves it. We listen to the daily devotional everyday during breakfast. We listen to the talks and firesides on Sunday evenings. Wonderful insights for weekly CFM on the Follow Him podcast. We listen to it every week. Great CFM outlines that help come up with lessons for our whole family. Meg Johnson, John Bytheway….and all the other contributors, too many to name them all are all so good. Thank you for this! We appreciate all the wonderful content that is available for our family. Great ways to talk about the personal meaning of the gospel as a family.
