The worst part for me is that it has a scanner that never works because it lacks a zoom function and cannot read far away symbols. Everything has to be found manually despite the advertised feature. I’d be glad to change my review to 5 stars if that feature was fixed and fully functional. ### 3/5 — Needs an update for newer phones *2021-09-24* Good app, and I love the design. Although I’m sure it’ll look great on an iPhone SE it’s not been modified for the screen dimensions of anything with a notch/Face ID. Also, there are other lenses on my phone that would enable the camera to focus better on the symbols. The app seems to like a close distance, but the default lens gets blurry at that range. And I continually tap on the screen, expecting it to focus where I tapped, but instead it takes me to the symbols page. And 2nd, it would be nice if it converted the temperatures to Fahrenheit for Americans. I have been washing and drying things incorrectly my entire life. I hadn't a clue. This even covers symbols not typically found on clothing in my country (I wear a lot of things from overseas). The only thing I would love to see which could take this to the five star level would be the scanner taking you directly to the page with captured symbols on its own. Mediocre execution. *2016-01-11* Great idea, but the image recognition is only accurate about 10% of the time. Worse, the English is poor (obviously not a first language), the units are in Celsius, and the "tips" are of so-so quality. It's a handy reference for when the label is illegible, but you're better off reading the label's instructions if you can. Camera works well and shows the images it can detect even when upside down. And if the camera can’t pick up the image, label faded then they produced a beautiful interface to select the symbols and the app will advise. My one worry when buying was if the app would work for my region Europe- which it does.
