I have tried the online support videos but they are both outdated and lacking. I realize that the software is rather new and that new features are being added constantly, but at the same time users need to know what features are available and how to use the features. I have had instrument for a number of days now and am still in discovery mode and struggling with how to make things work. Now fixed. *2025-04-02, version 2.6.2* The app with v2 software for iPad and IPhone does not load for a Blue Lava Touch guitar. It asks to scan a code on the guitar’s touch screen to activate the guitar. BUT my guitar was already activated with v1 software and has loaded v2 ok and plays ok. There is no scan code on the Blue Lava touch screen so the IPad and iPhone apps freeze. No response from customer support. Update : Customer Support responded and fixed the software bug. Guitar re-reactivated and app works fine. So now 4 star rating. ### 1/5 — One Less Star *2025-03-24* I don’t know how many others have noticed; but I have. All of the reviews and updates that I have posted since receiving my Lava Genie have wiped off the map! People have complained about the app not running in native iPad mode for three years and 9t still doesn’t. I personally do not like using it with my iPhone … too small, too busy, odd UI, terrible UX and no offense; but, I don’t like the community feature at all … save it for a social network. 24 March 2025: Dropping my rating to one star. Still no auto update of all presets at once and still no true iPadOS facing UI/UX. This is not a sampling guitar (Lava Genie). It had a full charge, yet it said it needed to charge and was low. It then said it required an update, but it won’t update. I tried on both iPhone and MacOS. There is no way to manually or forcefully check for updates. This app is unusable, therefore impossible to adjust the tones or use the tuner or anything else. I will return this guitar in a week if this app is not fixed. Sogar ein Stern ist noch Zuviel. Die App verbindet sich auch nicht mit der Gitarre. Не пытайтесь зарегистрировать китайские версии гитар, так как это приложение позволяет регистрировать только глобальные гитары lava. ### 5/5 — Fun and innovative *2025-03-16* This app and the Lava+ Genie are pure fun! New functions are frequently added and the developers are very responsive to user requests or concerns. If you don’t have a musical background you can keep it simple and use it like a Karaoke App that includes an instrument. Lots of fun. If you’re already a musician and have a bit of tech savvy you can create your own song sheets, and innovate with “Creative Mode”. ### 5/5 — Amazing! *2024-12-20* Seriously love this app!
