Landscape mode does not work nor remote playback. Error most likely in App. Cameras are viewable via Smart TV, but app no longer loading cameras. Last App upgrade 4 years ago, not likely that they are going to update their apps any longer. Seems all LaView apps are out of date and have no app support what-so-ever. The cameras work fine, but the app requires you to login so often and doesn’t show the cameras half the time. The app is very much lacking. I can’t view my cameras away from home. That’s kind of the point of the app no? ### 1/5 — NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL; Use LaView Connect *2023-04-25, version 4.7.2* Earlier this month I found that my LaView Net app would no longer connect to my camera system after functioning fairly well for three years. After jumping through all of the reset hoops, I finally got a response from LaView Support. It appears that the LaView Net app is no longer supported. You’ll need to delete the app from your device and download the LaView Connect app. Once you have that up and running, all you have to do is sign in to your account and select your NVR. You’ll also need to remember the “verification code” that you created when you set up your system initially. The new app works, but is different from the original app. The new app is designed for managing a series of independent wireless cameras, but at least it works. ### 1/5 — No Service *2023-04-21, version 4.7.2* I’ve tried contacting through their site, phone number and email without response. My live view will no longer load on the this app. The cameras work onsite but when in the app the loading icon just keeps spinning. I’ve had no response for 2 days and their phone just rings and rings and rings without a voicemail or anything. Unfortunately the developers of this app made it so you not only have to log in and reload your cameras every few days, but today it isn’t working at all. When you need to look at your cameras, you don’t want to have to go through several minutes of logging in and resetting everything back up before you can even see the cameras. It’s been years since users started leaving reviews about how awful this app is and nothing has changed. It shows how meaningless user experience is to the company, so I’d caution you to reconsider purchasing LaView in general…unless you want to get frustrated using the app. ### 2/5 — Good system bad app *2023-04-13, version 4.7.2* I like this camera system, but the app is horrible. Sometimes all my cameras load, sometimes only a few load, and sometimes none of them load. Maybe the company needs to do updates more often to fix this. I refresh, log out and log back in, but it doesn’t help. It shows me that my profile doesn’t exist. I can’t even create a new profile . Some error 04 pops up all the time… so annoying!! Since several models using this app are rebranded hik-vision DVRs, I tried the Hik-Connect app. Not only did it work. They need to just have a LaView name and list the comparable device in the name. Because you have to try everything to realize that nothing works. I can sign in into P2P but the device never loads, the app stays loading (with the spinning animation) and never shows my NVR or cameras. So, basically the app is useless. My guess is that it needs to be rebuilt with the updated libraries for the new iOS version. The developer needs to handle this and test it properly so the end users can keep using their devices. It works either way ASUS seamlessly. However iPhone ios18 update obviously breaks it Today. Even though I can still monitor all cameras, all other functionality malfunctions. This is the fourth camera system that I have used at my business and by far the best. Quick and install, easy to use and the app works seamlessly. That has the one downside of things being a little more complicated and a lot more factors coming into play such as network issues hardware in between etc. As far as I can tell the app works flawlessly over WiFi or cell and playback on all 5 of my cameras is live. So I believe the negative reviews come from other setup issues that is not a fault of the app. I use dynamic dns and connect using manual adding over http ported through my router. Almost no lag and much quicker response. A lot of people knock these cameras because of the app. Me personally, I've never had an issue with them. And if I have had to contact tech support, as in the case of utilizing system features to clarify the picture quality, or assist with configuring the app, they have been expedient and assisted me until completion. You have to have a fast connection to stream the video to your iPhone - a 1-bar signal will not be sufficient. I can watch all eight cameras at the same time on wifi or cell signal (I have eight cameras), and reviewing past recordings works well as well. I have no complaints.
