You can look at the demographics of iPhone holders and figure out most attorneys have iPhones. We want to use our commuting time wisely, but you have to bring up the app in the phone to hit checkpoints and the presentation doesn’t stop/start to allow navigation directions. Just a huge oversight given the purpose and target audience. ### 5/5 — Love *2023-04-08* Great classes and super convenient. You can pause and resume later, so I listen in my car on the way to work. It glitches, it is hard to use filters and do searches, the view when watching precorded courses on an iPad doesn’t allow for viewing the slides decently., etc., etc.! One example: You can either have a small unreadable slide with lots of blank space on the screen or a large slide that only have fits half the slide with no ability to scroll to the rest. I highly recommend Lawline.com but the app is a hot mess. ### 3/5 — I prefer the online access instead *2022-11-27* You have more flexibility with online access to these courses done in the mobile app. For example you can maximize the slides while you’re listening to the course whereas on the mobile app you can’t it takes up half the screen on your little iPhone so it’s really difficult to read the text because it’s so small. In addition, the mobile app kept stopping I wasn’t sure if it was loading or not, but it would just stop for 10 or 15 minutes at a time so it made it really difficult to get through the courts to completion. ### 4/5 — tu *2022-10-26, version 1.9.2* ty ### 3/5 — iPad version is unusable *2022-09-16, version 1.8.3* The smartnotes section only shows up in portrait mode. If you rotate back to landscape, then the slides are half cut off. The technical quality is great. The courses are great. Excellent customer service. My only wish is that Lawline dropped its prices. It used to be more affordable. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Tech problem, not fixed *2026-03-03, version 1.14.13* When I start a course in the app, and then pause, the next time I open the app the courses disappears. I called lawline support and apparently it’s the first they’ve ever heard of it and offered a solution that didn’t work with no follow up. ### 1/5 — WORST APP EVER *2025-12-09, version 1.14.6* This application has been a nightmare to use. Whoever it asks me to verify and I do, it causes the app to crash. I contacted their technical support and they told me to switch devices and try deleting and redownloading the app- neither fixed the problem. What a waste of $300. ### 1/5 — Crashes and support doesn’t work *2025-03-22, version 1.12.4* Crashes immediately after opening and link to support is broken ### 1/5 — Can’t search by course name in mobile app *2024-12-12* When I receive an email notification that a live webcast will happen, or that another webcast of interest is being offered soon, I launch the Lawline mobile app to use the search magnifying glass function to search for the Title/Name of the course. I expect to see the course name for which I searched on the top of the list of search results. Instead, I receive a huge number of search results unrelated to the course to the future webcast for which I searched. This is a BIG deficiency in the app and needs to be corrected as soon as possible!!! ### 1/5 — App Lapse *2023-10-28, version 1.10.2* First time I have used the app because I’m normally at a PC. I used it this time on my cell phone because I could have more freedom to move around. The problem is I get very sporadic service from the app. I am not talking about service from my provider. I always have good service signal and I’m on very strong Wi-Fi all the time. Back to sitting at my PC. ### 1/5 — Only works with a username/password *2023-04-28, version 1.9.10* It's probably great (the website works well), but it only works if you have a username and password directly setup with Lawline. If you used a 3rd party login provider (e.g. Google) there is no login option for that and this app is useless. ### 1/5 — Almost useless — and maybe dangerous — in the car *2021-12-08, version 1.7.9* The app has been changed. It now essentially requires you to download videos and click on “checkpoints” periodically during playback. This is (a) much slower than the use of audio only downloads (which, oddly, are still offered), and (b) dangerous to try to do while driving (and may even be illegal in some jurisdictions that are trying to combat “distracted driving.”) Huge fail. ### 1/5 — Great content, terrible app *2021-10-10* 90% of the time it works great, the remaining 10% of the time, I complete the course, the pop up comes up saying “get certificate” then when I hit submit it says I’ve not completed the course. This has happened multiple times and has wasted numerous hours by having to re do the course on the laptop. This app is very frustrating ### 1/5 — Crashing? *2021-01-15, version 1.6.4* I don’t know if app and website are both crashing but I am not able to access anything right now ### 1/5 — This used to be great. *2020-07-27, version 1.6.2* Thought I just couldn’t find it but no, the speed controls are definitely gone. What a useful and helpful feature. Gone. NJ especially is stringent on what you can take. The money for a year worth of CLE courses is money well spent. I loved the course I just took on witness/victim identification. I especially liked the idea of showing photos one at a time in the stead of a six picture block. I have had this issue where the victim or witness did not ID my client immediately. They went back and forth on the photo that looked “most like” what they had in their memory.
