### 2/5 — Great concept, poor execution

*2026-08-01, version 3.0.5*

Poorly-vetted providers. Providers are given the option to charge you when they say they’re “on the way” and then “release the job.” Then, we’re left without service until another provider accepts the job.

We have had some bad providers who either wait until the last minute to cancel, don’t show up at all, or do a half job and call it a day.

Find a good local lawnscaper to mow your lawn, if you aren’t going to do it yourself.

### 2/5 — App is good communication sucks

*2026-06-13, version 2.8.6*

The app works fine but good luck getting hold of someone to communicate with. It took them 2 weeks to get back to me and booked my service with the provider for 2027.

### 1/5 — No show

*2026-06-12, version 2.8.6*

The concept is good, and the app initially works well. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ends. The company completely failed to deliver the service as promised. My appointment was already delayed by three days, and then at 4:00 PM on the scheduled day, the provider canceled at the last minute. After waiting several extra days, I was left with no service and no meaningful solution. A good app is worthless if the company behind it cannot reliably deliver the service it sells. Extremely disappointing experience.

### 2/5 — Overbooked providers

*2026-05-22, version 2.8.3*

The first time I use this app to get a provider to cut my lawn, the lawn was cut on time. Every time after that, the provider was late. For the current cut it has been three days and my lawn is not cut. On top of that, Lawn Guru will still charge you for the service before the service is even provided. Sending messages through the app or their website are always ignored. You can try Lawn Guru and hopefully it will work for you. However, it is not working for me. I will have to look for another provider.

### 1/5 — Scheduling and communication is a nightmare

*2026-05-19, version 2.8.3*

Both times I have booked this for a specific day, and the service provider shows up 48-72 hours after my scheduled day. There was an also a major storm last night. I have not had a chance to clean up debris in my yard, as I work full-time.

The lack of communication and poor scheduling follow-through has caused more annoyance and stress than this service is worth. I’d much rather pay a neighborhood kid to do the service provided the opportunity. Nothing against the service providers, they are good people. The app is a mess and is set-up poorly.

### 1/5 — Only the 1st service is good

*2026-05-16, version 2.8.3*

They make sure to impress the first time for reviews, but after that, worst company ever! The employees just quit and your service is missed and you end up calling and waiting, this happens every month until you finally find a decent company to switch to

### 1/5 — Worst experience

*2026-05-14, version 2.8.3*

I was charged for lawn care that never happened. I have contacted them about the issue and no one is responding to the issue. Very frustrating and I’m contemplating getting a lawyer.

### 2/5 — Could be better

*2026-05-01, version 2.8.3*

App crashed and lawn guru’s support (not tech support) has never gotten back to me on a couple questions I had about their services.

### 1/5 — Dumb System

*2026-04-24, version 2.8.2*

Booked service for Monday. Turns out, when you book service you set it for a “48 hour window” - Wednesday rolls around, nothing. Thursday, nothing. Rains, pushes back service. Great, will be over a week since booking before I get service.

Also, tried to give the guy doing service my number as I am an adult with a job and I don’t keep my phone in hand all day, customer service flags my account for giving my personal number and texts my personal cell phone to tell me to keep all communication in app. Maybe take your own advice. Do not text me unless you are the service provider. I’ll go through with service again but doubtful I’ll use this platform beyond that.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-04-10, version 2.8.2*

Grass clippings
e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e
(driveway, sidewalk, back porch)
and didn’t clean up afterwards.

I received a text the next day asking for feedback and refused to respond after I explained what happened, so I had to chat what happened instead since they do not have an outgoing phone line.

Customer service refused to have the “service” man come back to clean it up or refund, not even a partial refund.

Will never use this service again.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Lawn mowing

*2026-07-19, version 3.0.0*

Very poor service. I signed up for lawn mowing weekly. A guy came once & did not show up for second mowing. No phone call, no text notification. Then I was given a new person who also never showed up, called or texted. The app is still showing that someone is coming every single day since. No one comes.
Ridiculous management!

### 1/5 — Thief’s

*2026-07-17, version 3.0.0*

Thief’s

### 1/5 — “Professionals” are DIYers

*2026-07-14, version 3.0.0*

I would not recommend LawnGuru.

They market their providers as “professionals,” but my experience was very different. It feels more like an Uber-style app that connects homeowners with DIY lawn operators rather than experienced lawn care companies.

The crew that came to my property lacked basic mowing skills. The lawn was cut unevenly, there were obvious missed areas, the string trimming was sloppy, and they left tire marks from making unnecessary zero-turn turns across the yard. To make matters worse, they damaged my fence gate and didn’t even mention it.

The app makes it seem like you’re hiring professional lawn care companies, but in reality you’re taking a gamble on whoever accepts the job. If you care about the quality of your lawn, I would recommend hiring a reputable local lawn care company instead.

### 1/5 — Crooks

*2026-07-13, version 3.0.0*

Landscapers will flake constantly. When they do show up they just cancel and you get charged $12 for them being lazy.

### 1/5 — Don’t use them

*2026-07-11, version 3.0.0*

There is no accountability for the actual providers. After 3 months and 3 different providers my lawn was mowed exactly 1 time on what was supposed to be a bi-weekly basis. Providers send generic excuse messages promising to get to your yard “asap” every day for a week and are no shows. Then they drop your account and look for a new provider. If you want your lawn to actually get mowed I highly recommend going somewhere else.

### 1/5 — Not really a lawn service

*2026-07-09, version 3.0.0*

This app represents itself as a lawn service, but it is really more of a matchmaker. While out-of-town, and needing a cut really soon, I signed up with the app, and requested bi-weekly mowing. Fairly soon, someone "accepted" the job, then messaged to say they were ill and couldn't make it that day. Nothing happened. I again tried to schedule service, and again someone "accepted" pretty quickly. And again, nothing happened.

Clearly, "Lawn Guru" isn't a lawn service, but tries to connect customers with actual providers. Who may or may not actually provide service.

There is nothing about the "app" that wouldn't be better as a simple web based app. In particular, there's nothing that it does that is "local"; the server is always required.

Whoever the author of the app was, they have some pretty weird ideas about security. I was able to create an account through their web page, but when I tried to sign in through the app, I got "403" errors, access denied. There was a "Sign in with Google" option, so I tried that, and got a message telling me that the account had been created with email and password, and that I couldn't use "Sign in with Google". Given that using Google is another way of proving that one owns an email address, this gave me the clue that the developer didn't really understand security, which made me suspect that they were using my IP address to guess where I was, and were denying foreign IP addresses. Using a VPN, I set my location to the US, and was able to sign in.

So, they can't provide service themselves, have no control over the actual providers, and clueless developers.

Zero stars, would not recommend.

### 1/5 — No Skin in the game

*2026-07-09, version 3.0.0*

Patiently waiting for service,
1st attempt was picked up immediately and resulted in a no show.

2nd attempt was scheduled 4 days in advance, seemed promising. Still waiting.

If a PRO picks up a job and does not show up and with no update, there should be a penalty. If a PRO sends more than 2 mechanical excuses in a week of no show, the a penalty. With no skin in the game, it becomes a farce.

On the surface seems the PROs are aligned to make the platform fail. Keep the marked out of the app business. On the other hand if the jobs is satisfactory add a TIP portion on final payment.

It may a exist already, I just never got to that point.

### 1/5 — Do not hire Lawn Guru

*2026-07-06, version 2.8.6*

I have had nothing but issues with lawn guru, they are inconsistent and difficult. They work with local lawn companies to provide service, so it’s a mystery who cuts the grass every time and when you have bad weather, the cut is delayed for DAYS instead of postponed just one day. After 4 weeks of nobody coming to service my yard I cancelled my biweekly service and called for one job just to get my grass cut, AND THE GUY TORE IT UP. There is grass shredded all over the yard and he didn’t even hit the edges or corner of my yard.

### 1/5 — Not consistent

*2026-06-27, version 2.8.6*

App or lawn guy does not reply to customer problems or complaints to correct anything. Man doesent know to knock on a door
before walking into a private home and uses a weedwacker to
cut grass uneven.

### 1/5 — Do Not Use!

*2026-06-18, version 2.8.6*

I signed up and first person to cut my lawn absolutely butchered it. They cut spots down to the dirt, they missed other spots and cut whole lawn too low for middle of summer. I’ve filed multiple complaints and have received 0 responses. The damage could cost me hundreds if not thousands to repair. I thought I found a solution before our baby but all I found was an expensive headache. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

### 5/5 — Lawn Care

*2026-05-28, version 2.8.3*

### 5/5 — Exactly what’s needed.

*2026-05-19, version 2.8.3*

Taking care of my 90 yr old father-in-law’s house hasn’t been easy. LawnGuru has taken a load off. They’re honest and easy. Every pro they have sent has been great. They even talk to Dad about his hot rods.

### 5/5 — Uber for lawn services!

*2026-05-16, version 2.8.3*

I was searching high and low for a lawn cutting service that came once a month. I know — cutting the grass once a month? Crazy. I searched all over Google, called so many businesses, and I came across Lawn Guru. They’re affordable and convenient! I love that you can skip services, especially when the season is over. I also love that they have other services! I love that I found Lawn Guru!

### 5/5 — Lawn service

*2026-05-01, version 2.8.3*

Abby did a great and thorough job on my yard

### 5/5 — Quick and Easy Service

*2026-04-30, version 2.8.3*

I just used LawnGuru for the first time this week because we’ve been busy and it’s rained on our less busy days, so lawn care kind of fell behind. I found the app and was impressed with how easy it was to schedule service and how quickly we got out lawn mowed (within two hours). The provider gave great communication and sent photos when he was done. Pricing is more than fair. However, we did have to pay extra because our yard had become jungle-like. I was expecting that, though, so I can’t complain. We will likely subscribe to weekly or biweekly service.

### 5/5 — Excellent Service

*2026-04-24, version 2.8.2*

I have biweekly service. They always do a fantastic job for a reasonable price.

### 5/5 — Easy and convenient

*2026-04-18, version 2.8.2*

Very easy to book service - and they came the next day. Like the convenience of the app and ability to add services if needed. Eric did a great job.

### 5/5 — Convenient and easy to navigate

*2026-04-18, version 2.8.2*

As new home owners, we are adjusting to finding convenient ways to maintain our home. I enjoyed using this app to find services that help us accomplish our needs. I’d highly recommend giving the app a chance.
