As a contractor, I would never recommend LawnGuru. After years on the platform, it’s turned into nothing more than a race to the cheapest bidder. They expect contractors to provide professional service while paying rates that often don’t reflect the actual cost of doing the work.

Prices rarely keep up with rising labor, fuel, equipment, and insurance costs, yet contractors are expected to bend over backwards for very little profit. There is little transparency, poor communication, and it often feels like the platform values low prices over quality service.

One of my biggest frustrations is that they market directly to customers instead of helping contractors build lasting relationships with them. You’re left doing all the work while having very little control over your own business.

If you’re serious about growing a professional lawn care company, I’d recommend investing your time in building your own customer base instead of relying on this platform. In my experience, LawnGuru has become a race to the bottom rather than a partnership with contractors

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS. They will rip you off. Low low payments on horrible jobs that should pay double and then they will charge you $15 and say you released jobs that you don’t release. Scamming people. Don’t rust this app!! There is no service help when you have issues. Trust me, better to be a service provider for a different app service. Law Guru is a complete rip off and their customer service people are rude and not helpful at all.

If you like being under paid for jobs, wearing out your equipment on overgrown lawns, and paying fee’s to be paid, then this is a outfit for you !  The support sucks if you can get ahold of them at all and if you submit a request to get back to you good luck ! They use third party company stripe to pay you and not only do they charge a transfer fee but they Lag on transferring your money. LawnGuru app says you have been paid but the money does not show up in your account it takes a day maybe two days and again they charge $ 15 transfer fee ( rip off).  They threaten you with up to $5000 fine for any kind of soliciting even if there app malfunctions ( happens frequently). You claim a job and when you arrive the grass is 24” tall they are likely to only pay you the amount posted which is priced way to low, you try to release the job they charge you $50 fee to do so and most jobs don’t even pay that amount !  To sum up the experience if you like being ripped off and under paid then lawn guru is perfect for you !

Today my account was closed because they claimed I received a payment outside of the app, which is completely false. Just yesterday, I was appealing a large payment that the app still owes me, and today, coincidentally, they decide to shut down my account.

What’s ironic is that I clearly stated through the app itself that I understood accepting payments outside the platform was against policy and could seriously affect my account, which is exactly why I never did it.

I do not recommend this app at all. Yes, a lot of jobs come through it, but what’s the point if they fail to pay properly and then suddenly close your account without a fair investigation? Be careful, everyone
