The damage is thousands of dollars + time + each time damage cost $45. At the end I even couldn’t talk to a live customer care. STAY AWAY FROM THESE UNPROFESSIONAL APP BASED GUYS. ### 1/5 — Most Unreliable App *2026-08-13, version 6.264.0* I tried using this for about three months. I only asked for a mow every other week. I had maybe 9-10 different “pros” assigned to me. The date would come, and no one would show. Some would cancel the day of and reschedule for days later, and then not come on that rescheduled day. There is no accountability for these people on this app. My yard was mowed three times in three months. I have complained several times and nothing ever gets better. Horrible, unreliable, nearly a scam. ### 1/5 — Horrible system and service *2026-08-11, version 6.264.0* Do not use this service. The communication is slow and irregular. The tech they sent left stips of unmowed grass because he showed up after sundown. When I complained he said he would be back and never showed up. I requested a different “Pro” and after a week, still don’t have one. Beware: if you sign up they try to lock you into 3 mows before they will let you cancel. ### 1/5 — Pathetic *2026-08-10, version 6.264.0* Had them reschedule me 3 times. I asked when he’s coming was coming. His response was “you’re joking right” and then he said I had a 2 foot lawn. Then wrote back that I didn’t declare something - obviously trying to charge me the expensive fee for NOTHING. I sent him back a photo of my grass which is at most 3 inches. No response. LawnStarter has been slow to help me. Avoid. ### 1/5 — Worst app I've ever seen *2026-08-09, version 6.264.0* Customers lie on this app about scope of work then kicked off the app I call and ask why they can not give me and answer do t waste your time ### 1/5 — Looking for consistent service? Look elsewhere. *2026-08-09, version 6.264.0* Four pros, two no shows, one price gouging quote far above my initial quote, zero lawn cuts. I spoke to customer service multiple times about the multiple no shows and delays, and they weren’t able to give me any resolution besides scheduling me with one of their “top pros” for a six day delay. Surprise surprise, another no show. Add on service reps who disconnect when they misunderstand you and get frustrated with you. Avoid this service and just ask your neighbors who they use, like I should have done in the first place. ### 3/5 — App updates starting to get annoying *2026-08-05, version 6.262.0* The last 5 or so times I go to open this app, I'm met with the Login screen. I enter my information, and a box appears telling me that my app is outdated, and I can no longer use it unless I update. It's getting irritating. ### 1/5 — This app sucks *2026-08-05, version 6.262.0* For some reason they feel the need to “update” this app every 2-3 weeks and not even in a way that lets you use it—you HAVE to update in order to use it. Every. Damn. Time. And when you do update? There is never any noticeable difference. Why the hell do I have to update my app every single damn time I get my lawn mowed? And, it logs you out and doesn’t automatically log you back in. I don’t know who in the company is making this absolutely amateur and infuriating decision to log you out and require an update every time you use the app, but it’s got me considering just leaving and hiring a local company directly. Until they fix this issue, my lawn crew (who do an excellent job) will not get a single rating from me through the app because it keeps kicking me out. What the hell is so damn vital that it requires an update every 2-3 weeks? ### 1/5 — Multiple “Pros” multiple no shows *2026-08-04, version 6.262.0* This is insane. I have had 3 “pros” not mow the grass on the date they said they would be. The first one cancelled and so they replaced her with a new guy who would come same day. Never showed. Tried to talk to chat but they said to wait until sundown. I tried to message after sundown and they were closed due to their hours. Tried to chat in the AM and was stuck in their “Que” for 2 hours with the message saying they moved my chat to email and to respond to that. I did. Then I find out after a few hours that they kept it in the chat and ended my request because I didn’t answer their chat. Then they assigned me another pro that was supposed to show a week later after the initial person. Guess what? No show lol. I was excited to do a lot of their services and had $350 worth cancelled after all this. Clearly a trash service with trash “pros”. ### 1/5 — Predatory Subscription Model *2026-08-02, version 6.262.0* I did the discounted first mow. The quality was not great and tried to cancel, but the app said I had to have a minimum of 3 mows before cancelling, even though there is no signed contract. When I request to cancel through support (because you can’t just click a button) they told me I had to wait until I had 3 mows, and then offered to pause my subscription till the following year. After a few back and forth messages, I finally got them to cancel. If you have an issue with your first mow, do not expect a simple cancellation process, you will have to fight with customer support. ### 1/5 — They make threats *2026-08-02, version 6.262.0* I do not recommend using this app by any means I downloaded the app never used it and gotten and email stating I was in violation of solicitation with a customer! How is that even so when I never used the app not once! They will not fix it either. *2026-09-02, version 6.269.0* They’re Contractors don’t always follow instructions and will use two lawnmowers at different heights to cut your lawn and then kill half of it and then make you pay to replace it because their contractor took a picture of a lawnmower being set at 4 inches. They do not back their Contractors if they make a mistake or damage property, you will be stuck with the bill at the end of the day. Do not use them. ### 1/5 — Terrible company *2026-08-30, version 6.269.0* Do not use, I signed up and for lawn mowing. Contractors never showed. They move you to new contractor that also didn’t show and the won’t let you cancel account. Company won’t do anything but keep moving you to new contractors and then try and charge you extra it’s really a terrible company find some local people yourself don’t waste your time ### 1/5 — Wish I could give zero stars *2026-08-26, version 6.269.0* Someone was scheduled to come cut my grass on Monday never showed up never answered any messages. They automatically rescheduled somebody different Tuesday. I sent a message as it was getting later to verify if he was coming and got no response. Then I got an alert that my appointment was rescheduled for two weeks from the original date. I sent another message asking why it was rescheduled and he said oh I rode past your house and it looked like your grass was already cut. It was obvious that my grass wasn’t cut. Horrible experience highly do not recommend! ### 1/5 — Buyer beware! Absolutely worse service ever!! *2026-08-25, version 6.269.0* Absolutely worse service ever!! Don’t ever use them if you want to rescheduled for weeks. Very unprofessional lawn care representatives and the call center is full of people who either don’t live in the USA or care to help. 0 stars possible. It is extremely annoying! ### 1/5 — No lawn care *2026-08-23, version 6.269.0* We’ve scheduled someone to mow our lawn three times and all three times, no one has showed up - one of the times, someone claimed to partially mow and tried to get paid but actually didn’t show up at all. The third person responded to my message to confirm their coming to mow and then never came. I waited for 1.5 hours to talk to customer service about this. Very disappointed. ### 1/5 — Don’t sign up for this terrible service *2026-08-22, version 6.269.0* I had lawnstarter mow my lawn a couple times this summer and had an issue both times. The first time, they mistakenly charged me a long grass fee (which they rectified). The second time, they forgot to mow the left side of my house. Then you have to wait another 48 hours for another Pro to just not show up. Maybe it’s just my area - but just terrible. The people they set me up with canceled over and over again. I had to hire a local reliable lawn care company to come out eventually and it cost me 185$ because the grass had gotten so long. I contacted LawnStarter customer service numerous times.
