It doesn’t remember what you’ve pressed and shows on when it’s off and vice versa. Scheduling is a pointless exercise and Lay Z Spa should be ashamed to put their name to this hopeless app. Anyway, help is at hand and for all of you that need an app to control your spa that does it with no issues at all, may I recommend the Bestway Connect app instead. Connects easily to the spa, all functions are there, the switches show the actual position they should be in, everything this app should do, but fails, the Bestway Connect app does well. You’re welcome! 😀 ### 2/5 — Unstable and glitchy *2026-07-23, version 2.2.3* A very simple and basic app that should be easily and robustly coded. It isn’t. It’s extremely unreliable and this is not good when one of the main selling points is economy through insulation and the ability to remotely schedule emery use. I cannot imagine the profit from this product once the process is up and running …plastic is cheap and we are paying a premium. There is no excuse for this poor performing app that has apparently been broken for over a year now. Just went out to spa today had no schedule set, just a permanent 35 degree. Got in and seemed hot; spa had decided to adjust itself up to 38 degrees - not sure how long this was for as it’s 2days since I last opened the app. I will try the best way app. Which I guess is what they are all relying on us doing. Scheduling initially was good but now reports a schedule is active when it isn’t. Found it was on when shouldn’t be and off when should have heated up. I get a notification that it’s started but the hot tub does nothing. I can manually change settings via the app so I know the WiFi connection is fine. I spent the extra to get WiFi support and now if only half works. I’ve had a Lay-Z-Spa for the past three years, and it consistently suffers from the same connectivity and reliability issues. Once connected, it works fine, but reaching that point is a constant struggle with endless back-and-forth with customer service, which takes forever. Thankfully the bestway spa app works fine otherwise I’d have sent the whole spa back. Heating and filter schedules don’t work. If the heating schedule does start the temperature defaults to the minimum, therefore not heating the water. The filter schedule says it’s running but it doesn’t anymore. Modern things shouldn’t be this poor ### 1/5 — Repeat Schedule unreliable. *2026-07-05, version 2.2.3* Only reason I upgraded my hot tub was to use a repeat schedule for cheap energy overnight. Randomly the schedule just stops working. Then you have to reset every thing. Then repeat. Feel like a bit of a sucker. ### 1/5 — Rubbish app! *2026-07-03, version 2.2.3* This app supposedly has a schedule for heating the spa etc… Well I can say with confidence it doesn’t work properly! The spa doesn’t come on when it’s scheduled to and the scheduling keeps being deleted! At best it’s an on/off controller and nothing more. Useless ### 1/5 — Crashes *2026-07-01, version 2.2.3* ⭐☆☆☆☆ Very poor app. It crashes frequently and constantly loses connection to the spa. If you close the app or even lock your phone for a moment, it often gets stuck on “Error while loading” and has to reconnect all over again. It also regularly shows the wrong status for the spa, sometimes not recognising whether the heater, filter, bubbles or HydroJet system are actually on or off. The app is unreliable and makes controlling the spa far more frustrating than it should be. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Simon *2026-06-29, version 2.2.3* The connectivity is fine but the way the app responds to commands is poor. Having to make a command, ignore the fact it responds and then shows a flick back to the opposite action, then log out and back in again to see if it worked is not good at all. When you select a function the switch reverts to the previous setting. The same with temperature. When this happens it means i have to delete the app and login again and reconnect the hot tub filter as if was new. This is soo annoying as i then have to reset my schedules etc. ### 3/5 — Kind of works *2026-05-31, version 2.2.3* It does what it’s meant to do but it’s quite glitchy. Whenever you use it to switch something on or off the button on the app clicks back to the original position so you think it hasn’t worked. If you come out and go back in again you can see that it has worked. Once you realise that you can accept it but it’s a bit of a pain having to come out and go in to the app to check that’s in the mode you want.
