Half the time it’s not responding to my input (especially fast steering) or it’s going to the menu instead of fly controls, mid flight I suddenly am in the menu or on my lock screen of my phone. The controls itself are intuitive I think… and that’s coming from someone who has actually jumped off cliffs and out of airplanes IN REAL LIFE (yep, me) Please at least allow people to change the controls. (I’ll give this game one more try with a controller, see if that’s better) ### 3/5 — Fun while it lasted *2026-03-21* It’s a fun game, a great little time killer but there are some serious issues I have with it. First that every once in awhile I try and use two fingers to turn quick but for some reason it doesn’t register and I end up crashing. Second Flare’s last mission. Are you joking??! No matter what combination of cape and trinket I use I just can’t. 51/52 and I just can’t find a way to go through the 20 smoke rings to “Win”. Most I can get is 18 before they all start disappearing and why do they disappear??! It’s not a race, it’s supposed to be an obstacle course more or less so why make her ZOOM far ahead of you and make it the most stressful mission in the entire game? The worst part is the area she goes with the rocks jutting out of the side of the wall that you can barely see so I always end up crashing. Like I said in the title, it was fun while it lasted but after catching all the birds and completing all the missions (minus the one I refuse to play a 50th time) there’s not much else to do. I get that they were trying to mimic where the glider's hands are with your finger's positions on the screen, but they ended up really clunky. I stopped playing after about 15 minutes because once I got the hang of the controls, I discovered I couldn't do 2 things at once, such as turn while climbing or turn while diving or turn while boosting or turn while boosting. The natural comparison would be Sky: Children of Light, but I found the controls so poorly thought out that they reminded me of the original Mario Cart. Don't get me wrong, it's totally playable, but it's not intuitive, and it's definitely not seamless. Graphics are choppy like N64, and there didn't seem to be a cute artsy reason for it. If you love the idea of flying or gliding this game will probably give you what you’re looking for. If I had to think of something bad to say, it’s just that I wish there was more missions, I have completed everything there is to do, and now I’m just patiently flying around waiting for hopefully an update or even a #2 !! I would love if you could customize your character or even just the capes!! It just takes time for you to get used to it but after u get done with all the quests from all of the people, It can get boring and may even get tiring at points going around the map. It completely immerses you in the moment of your flight. After I stopped playing I still could almost hear birds under me from the incredible sound of the cliff side. I don’t normally comment on games but this one I had to because it has inspired me to make similar landscapes in my own time!! The controls take a bit of getting use to but over wise good to go. My only complaint is that the tasks get very hard as the game goes on and I can’t figure out where stalagmites and stalactites are but sure I’m just missing something!! If you have a Netflix subscription this is a must have and I have already recommended to many people and love the game! To anyone who is unsure then this is a quick summary of the game… fly around and explore a beautiful map full of quirks and possibilities that will make your imagination come to life. Upgrade your cape to unlock new possibilities that will allow you to fly higher and faster than before. Complete tasks with islanders such as races or rounding up birds or do the level tasks to get you next new cape. The game is amazing designed relaxing and satisfying! Thanks for reading this review. I know there will be some people out there saying the controls were a bit difficult to learn, I agree but not to that extent, as a gamer it took my 15 mins max to get used to controls and get pretty decent at it. now I agree in terms of giving the option to users to have a joystick or some other controls to be able to cater to all the needs of non-gamers but for me the intended original controls were amazing and gave it life when compared to the thought of joysticks. However this game could be improved further by adding the following features: - Multiplayer: I’m gonna assume there’s no multiplayer since I haven’t seen any feature proposing so, but this is a must have to push games even further in success - Character customisation (visuals): Allowing us to customise clothes/body types. I think that the people who say this game’s controls are difficult have not taken time to give the game a chance because once you do there is so much more to this game then just flying. The scenery is gorgeous and has so much opportunity for exploration and adventure. In this game I think I would like to see a bit more character customisation along with some more capes as I nearly have them all. There are a couple bugs eg. I was playing earlier and I went over to Raven to do the quest but no dialogue popped up on screen and I could not see Laya but could still use the controls. In conclusion I absolutely LOVE this game! I would like to see some more things in gameplay and some more character customisation but that’s really it.
