I finally decided to take the plunge and buy this version - I am so pleased I did. It plays flawlessly and the cut scenes and puzzles are even better on a larger screen. My only regret is that I didn’t just invest in all 3 available games from the off! ### 4/5 — No sound :( *2021-09-09* I’ve played Professor Layton: Pandora’s box on DSI before and it had a fantastic soundtrack. I downloaded this game hoping to get a similar experience with this game and was sad to see that there was no soundtrack at all which really takes away from the enjoyment of this game. I’ll still be playing this but I’m extremely disappointed especially seeing as I payed for this. Please fix this if you can Update: the sound came through when I put on headphones. I was originally going to give this a 3 star rating but after finding this out, I bump it up to 4. ### 5/5 — Tonprobleme? Hier die Lösung! *2021-02-17* Ich habe mir die Layton Trilogie gekauft, weil ich wie jeder andere hier nostalgisch an die Rätsel auf dem Nintendo zurückdenken musste. 33€ sind kein Schnapper und ich habe lang gehadert, ob ich sie mir wirklich holen sollte. Dementsprechend war die Enttäuschung riesig, als der Ton nicht funktionierte. Weder am iPad noch dem iPhone. Doch die Ursache liegt in einer etwas unüblichen Programmierung. Der Ton ist nämlich nicht als Musik, sondern als Hinweiston eingeordnet. Ihr müsst euer Handy oder iPad auf ,laut‘ stellen. Also die Stummschaltung deaktivieren. Das funktioniert beim iPhone mit dem Hebel über der Lautstärkewippe und beim iPad über das Dropdown Menü (Kontrollzentrum) aus der Leiste oben rechts. Danach geht die Musik wieder. Hoffe ich konnte dem ein oder anderen helfen! ### 5/5 — Incroyable ! *2021-01-07* Étant un des plus grands fans de la saga, je ne peux que dire que je suis retourné dans ces histoires qui, bien que les connaissants par-cœur, les fais et refais ! Pas une seule hésitation quant à l’achat du jeu sur iPad ! Un pur régal pour les yeux et me voilà reparti une énième fois pour Saint-Mystère sous un autre format ! Só não dou 5 estrelas pois o final foi bem preguiçoso, resolvendo várias coisas nos 45 do segundo tempo. Mas fora isso, amo e recomendo a todos. ### 5/5 — Excellent portage de la version original *2020-06-21* L’ayant déjà terminé à l’époque sur son support d’origine la Nintendo DS, j’étais curieux de découvrir cette version mobile dites « HD » et autant dire que je ne suis pas déçu, graphiquement sur mon IPhone se 2020 c’est vraiment propre (même si parfois les cinématiques sont inégales), au niveau du gameplay c’est vraiment bien adapté et très agréable à jouer je retrouve sans problème l’interface d’origine. La localisation c’est celle d’origine aussi, donc voix anglais sous titré français et les menu ainsi que les énigmes sont en français. A cela level5 a profité de cette version pour ajouter des cinématiques, aussi que du gameplay supplémentaires , sachant que le jeu disposait déjà d’une durée correct pour le genre. Bref pour 10€ n’hésitez plus! Clairement un jeu et une licence à découvrir ou redécouvrir 😍 ### 5/5 — Spiel mit Herz *2020-05-13* Ein wirklich tolles Spiel für Menschen, die Knobeleien lieben und sich über eine süße Geschichte mit tollen Zeichnungen freuen. Wenn man sich Zeit lässt, alles erkundet und Hinweise nur spärlich benutzt, dann kommt man mit dem Bonusmaterial auf 30 Stunden Spielzeit. Wer allerdings ungeduldig ist und nur reine Rätsel lösen will, für den ist das Spiel eher nichts. However, seeing this game on iOS made me thinking that I might give it a try. It was amazing. Even the hardest puzzles were solvable with the hints. The stroy inspired by Sherlock gives it a nice point of reference. The charm of the anime is perfect with the inspirational material. It’s a great starting point for the puzzle genre and I’m happy to play the next one after just finishing this one. 5/5! Only complaint I have is the search for hint coins. It boils down to smashing the screen at every scene to find them. I didn’t like it but I still found plenty of the coins. ### 5/5 — Ein beispielloses Meisterwerk *2020-04-09* Von der Atmosphäre und er Story bis hin zu den Rätseln und ihrer grafischen Umsetzung beispiellos! Es ist kein Spiel, um schnellen Rätsel lösen, man muss sich die Zeit nehmen, es zu zelebrieren. Nur dann merkt man, die Parallelen zwischen den aufbauenden Rätseln. A must for new or old fans who like a good puzzle every now and then, I’ve already poured three hours into it and barely scratches the surface of the plot so it’s worth the price tag. Some of the additional graphics are a little questionable but you don’t always notice them but most updated ones look amazing! The puzzle solved screens are so crystal clear it’s fantastic. Heartily recommend it and hope to see all the other titles getting ports too! Very disappointing ### 1/5 — How did the developers not see these bugs *2019-01-06* So I downloaded this because I remember this being the first professor Layton game that I played and thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted to have a blast of nostalgia. However immediately after loading it up I realised that the cutscenes weren’t working but I continued to play it anyway. I wasn’t even twenty minutes in to the game before I realised it couldn’t load a cutscene and I could no longer progress with the game, I tried reloading it and uninstalling it but the game would not allow me to progress past this point. This therefore has been the biggest waste of ten pounds I think I have ever experienced. Cela étant, ça reste frustrant d’être habitué à un doublage depuis de nombreuses années et qu’ils n’y soient pas après une remasterisation. Pour moi, on ne peut pas profiter complètement de la hd, si on ne peut pas tourner l’écran pour avoir une image plus grande, il aurait été plus agréable ne serait-ce que pour les séquences vidéos, cinématographiques de pouvoir le faire. Même si ça se vois que ça a été retravaillé, c’est dommage. 3 étoiles me semble bien, ça reste un très bon jeu que je n’ai pas fait sur ds, d’où ma frustration de dialogues, sachant que je suis entrain de finir l’avant-dernier et le dernier épisode sur ma 3ds et que tous les opus sont doublés en français. ### 3/5 — Great game, HD remake needs more development *2018-12-03* This game was great on the DS, the port to iOS is ... ok. With many of the puzzles, making notes is a must. However, the “note making” option within a puzzle is at very low resolution such that making readable notes is almost impossible. This was acceptable 10yrs ago on the DS, but why this wasn’t updated along with the HD graphics for iOS is beyond me. Storylines and music are amazing I just wish more of the DS games were converted to iOS as there’s only 3 so far :( ### 5/5 — Ein Muss für alle Fans! *2024-08-12* Ich habe die Professor Layton Serie schon Anfang der 2000er auf dem DS gespielt und geliebt. Ich vermisse sie sehr auf der Switch und hoffe, dass da eventuell auch irgendwann mal ein Remake kommen wird. Umso glücklicher war ich, als ich die Spiele hier gefunden und gekauft habe. Die drei Teile wurden wirklich liebevoll und aufwendig für das Smartphone umgeändert und sind für mich das Geld absolut wert. Die perfekte Mischung aus Nostalgie und Knobelspaß.
