Once loaded you’re greeted with ads and warnings?!? ### 1/5 — Can’t order a bottle of port *2024-12-05* Tried ordering a bottle of port. The quantity + button doesn’t work. If you hit the add to cart button a window pops up saying quantity is 0. No it’s not zero. Your IQ is zero for not checking this infernally balky app for errors. Too busy planning the next strike. ### 1/5 — Wrong Location *2024-12-04, version 9.0.0* When I open the app it picks a store location at Queen’s Quay in TO when I live in Caledon. I have location selected for this app but it still doesn’t select the one closest to me. I have precise location selected when using the app. When I select other location it gives me the LCBO store 20 minutes away instead of the one 10 minutes away which is where I shop. With the millions of $s LCBO has you think it would have a perfect app!!! ### 1/5 — Not functioning *2024-11-13, version 8.19* Lately this app isn’t working; despite of having both wifi and cellular connection it always tells me it is not connected to the network. Wouldn’t it be great if the LCBO actually treated you like a client and knew what you bought from them. Auto populate your inventory, simplify reorders, suggest similar items, offer loyalty service and offers, help locate and deliver your favourites. Alas. No. Not, Not even close. Just a lot of spinning wheels when your actually trying to find the information they actually know like their inventory. Hmmm. Must be a government service. The app is slow and clumsy. UPDATE ! ! ### 1/5 — Useless *2024-08-26, version 8.17* The reason why we download this is to later be able to find our card in the app and use it during checkout. Click on ‘account’ > no card, just the aeroplan number. Please fix the issue. Thanks. ### 1/5 — Apt App for an Inept pile of Crap *2024-08-13, version 8.17* The LCBO app is just as bad as the LCBO itself, and they should skip merrily, hand in hand, through the gates of hell. ### 1/5 — Dreadful app *2024-08-11, version 8.17* The app will accept my orders online, then process them with no problem. But after a certain number of orders, typically 3 to 4, it will reject any form of payment I offer, and therefore not accept the order. I’ve spoken to LCBO chat and help lines and even they are baffled as to why it does that. I uninstalled the app then reinstalled it. No change. I’ve tired it on my iPad and always a dead end. But when the app works, it’s wonderful. Which is why it’s so incredibly frustrating. Pickup and delivery times are unbelievable given that it’s the only way to buy spirits in Ontario. Ontario government please save us from this monopoly by allowing to sell any type of spirits by other groceries or local shops. Also the assortment is weak comparing to how it could be in normal not monopoly market conditions. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Unbelievably Disfunctional *2025-09-14, version 9.0.4* This is the worst app I have on my devices. Cannot find anything, not updated with products, will not hold my preferred store and the information on the site is not correct. Ex. The app says there are no Italian Cabernet Sauv’s and I am drinking one now. The LCBO used to be a great organization but something has happened - stores poorly managed, staff often unhelpful, shelves poorly stocked, selections or availability of wines (x-US) is worse than before we correctly banned US wines from our stores. Also, no customized lists. ### 1/5 — useless maps *2025-05-03, version 9.0.2* The app is OK for just seeing what’s available in general but when you try to find out where it’s stocked locally using the open in maps link, it’s completely useless because it just lists ALL of the locations in your area not the ones that actually have the product in stock. also, if you change your home store or preferred store, it doesn’t remember the last thing you were browsing so you have to redo all of your searching and browsing and filters ### 1/5 — A Shame We Can't give Zero Stars *2025-03-02, version 9.0.1* Every time I use this I have to update it before I can even open it. Which is a pain when I'm on cellular data or have to log into wifi. Honestly, that's just an amateur policy decision. Very few applications force mandatory updating before opening the app. And seriously, LCBO, you're not so important as to warrant this. It's a freaking inventory checking app. If the big e-commerce apps can run without forcing update Every. Freaking. Time. why should you? I've always been a fan of the LCBO. Stores in convenient locations, well stocked, attractive, and knowledgeable staff. Your app is twice as bad as your stores are good. And, when it opens there are always notices to click through—the same ones each time! The Search function does not combine words, but includes results with each word in it. Furthermore the search ignores the category I’ve selected.
