The inputs are the three direct measures from the standard lipid profile: total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. The method has been used extensively validated and recommended by major clinical guidelines, such as those of the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology. Results are accurate *2023-08-14* This app modifies the original Friedewald formula to account for your individual lipid profile, therefore it matches better to your direct measurement of serum LDL-C levels. All labs use formulas to estimate your LDL-C levels. Some labs are doing a better job at estimation than others. I trust this app more than my lab’s estimation for my LDL-C levels.
