But, every issue is just a PDF scan - and not a very good one. You have to zoom in read, and the text quickly becomes soft and pixelated. If the developers want more people to read the journal, please optimize it for newer iPhones and allow column navigation at a decent resolution. ### 2/5 — Poor display quality *2017-04-26* Low resolution and thus blurry text. I find it very unpleasant to read this way and will cancel my monthly subscription. Yet to see the same information via the app, I am expected to pay again. So I’m expected to pay double to use the app and see the same information I have already paid to access via the website. Não fosse pelo ótimo conteúdo eu ñ recomendaria este app. ### 1/5 — Awful on an iphone *2012-10-13* This is an awful iphone app. It is impossible to read the content comfortably on screen in this format, and if you purchase access to the digital edition this way you can ONLY access it via your iphone/ipad not online on a computer. Unfortunately, as I am not lucky enough to own an iPad (I imagine it may be more readable on that size of screen), this is not a product I can use. So immensely frustrating and an expensive waste of money. In my opinion this should not be advertised as an app suitable for iphone. This is just a PDF of the magazine. Look at the New Yorker, The Economist, or WSJ (amongst others) to see how it should be done. Thanks for wasting my time douche bags! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Global analysis on a monthly basis *2015-09-01* The Monde Diplomatic international analysis and guest writers provide a unique and nuanced way to look at the world problems from a point of view outside the regular European chambers. ### 5/5 — Journalism at it's best *2012-10-20* If you want to know what is going on in the world then this paper is mandatory. I had this app for a few months now and the articles are written at a very high quality. This is essential reading for anyone who is interested in world affairs. ### 5/5 — Great publication *2011-02-06* First let me address the complaints that while the app is free most of the content is not. I knew that when I downloaded the app - it certainly says so. Why people always give a one star rating because, god forbid, content is not free is beyond me. This is not an inexpensive print publication so why does anyone expect it to be free. On to the content: the LMD is one of the premier publications in the world. The articles are in depth and provide intelligent discussion and evaluation of many world issues and the political/economic situation in different countries and regions. Some people may not like it for its political leanings. However, if you are a serious student of world affairs, this is a must read. ### 5/5 — Reader is Free; Content Costs *2010-08-16* You get a few sample articles, but if you want more, you pay a nominal fee for 30-days access AND access to the archive. Yes, if you zoom in too far the text gets blurry. The presentation format is poor, essentially a photo of each page. But I’m rating on content rather than form. ### 4/5 — Excellent articles, but one problem. *2020-09-19* Le Monte Diplomatique is a fantastic window on the world. However, I hope in the future the app developers will provide the reader view that so many publications have as an alternative to the traditional view. I find reading increasingly difficult due to poor eyesight.
